Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS 18.0 program. At the results, the average levels of fatigue and self-efficacy were 3.52/5($SD={\pm}.52$) and 3.29/5($SD={\pm}.47$) respectively that meant above moderate. Study participants having motive of admission to nursing school voluntarily and having high satisfaction with nursing major were shown higher self-efficacy. There were correlated negatively between fatigue and self-efficacy(r=-.315, p<.001). By the findings of this study, it is necessary to develop a nursing practice education program to reduce the level of fatigue and improve the self efficacy of nursing students.

The study was conducted with 231 nurses from four health promoting hospitals. Data were collected from May to June, 2013. Health education performance was positively correlated with education level, years of clinical experience, health promotion role recognition, and self efficacy for health education. Health promotion role recognition (${\beta}=.246$, p=.001), self-efficacy for health education (${\beta}=.282$, p <.001), and clinical experiences (${\beta}=.170$, p=.007) were significant predictors of health promoting hospital nurses' health education performance and explained 27.8% of the variance. The strategies to improve health promotion role recognition and self-efficacy for health education should be developed to improve health education performance of health promoting hospital nurses.

  • Since students of the College of Maritime Sciences will become professionals contributing to the development of the Korean shipping industry after graduation, they are required to successfully complete school life including theoretical and practical curriculum with health promotion behavior. The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors influencing health promotion behavior by students of the College of Maritime Science in order to collect basic data through a survey for the development of health promotion programs. Health promotion behavior by students of the College of Maritime Sciences was less frequent than by other college students, and the levels of health promotion behavior sub-domains were lower in order of interpersonal relations, spiritual growth, stress management, nutrition, physical activity, and health responsibility. The most influential factors for health promotion behavior were learner participation, health promotion self-efficacy, self-esteem, and social support. It is necessary to develop a differentiated health promotion program considering the characteristics of students and to apply it systematically from the time of admission to improve health promotion behavior by students of the College of Maritime Sciences.
