A Numerical Study on the Impinging Jet Flow Characteristics in the Presence of Applied Magnetic Fields (자기장이 인가된 충돌제트의 유동 특성에 관한 수치적 연구)

  • The present study numerically investigates two-dimensional fluid flow in the confined jet flow in the presence of applied magnetic field. Numerical simulations to calculate the fluid flow and heat transfer in the confined jet are performed for different Reynolds numbers in the absence and presence of magnetic fields in the range of $0{\le}N{\le}0.05$, where N is the Stuart number (interaction parameter) which is the ratio of electromagnetic force to inertia force. The present study reports the detailed information of flow in the channel at different Stuart numbers. As the intensity of applied magnetic fields increases, the vortex shedding formed in the channel becomes weaker and the oscillating amplitude of impinging jet decreases. The flow fields become the steady state if the Stuart number is greater than a critical value. Thus the pressure coefficients at the stagnation point also vary as a function of Stuart number.

For the purpose of controlling vortex shedding and heat transfer, numerical simulations to calculate the fluid flow and heat transfer in the confined jet are performed for different Reynolds numbers in the absence and presence of magnetic fields and for different Prandtl numbers of 0.02 (liquid metal), 0.7 (air) and 7 (water) in the range of $0{\le}N{\le}0.05$, where N is the Stuart number (interaction parameter) which is the ratio of electromagnetic force to inertia force. The present study reports the detailed information of flow and thermal quantities in the channel at different Stuart numbers. As the intensity of applied magnetic fields increases, the vortex shedding formed in the channel becomes weaker and the oscillating amplitude of impinging jet decreases. The flow and thermal fields become the steady state if the Stuart number is greater than the critical value. Thus the Nusselt number at the stagnation point representing the heat transfer characteristics also vary as a function of Stuart number.

  • In the study, self-organization by color detection is proposed to overcome required constraints for existing self-organization by an external ceiling camera and communication. In the proposed self-organization, each swarm robot can follow its colleague robot and all swarm robots can follow a target by LOS(Line of Sight). The swarm robots follow the moving target by the proposed potential field, avoiding confliction with neighboring robots and obstacles. Finally, all swarm robots are reached by a sight among swarm robots. In this paper, for unicycle robots with non-holonomic constraints instead of point robot with holonomic constraints self-organization is presented, it enhances the possibility of H/W realization.

  • 한반도에 대한 고지자기 연구는 유라시아 대륙의 지구조운동이 진행되었던 중생대 및 고생대암석에 대해 여러 사람들에 의해 활발히 수행되어왔다. 특히 1980년대 후반부터는 북중국지괴와 남중국지괴 사이의 충돌대인 친링-다비-수루 (Qinling-Dabie-Sulu) 조산대가 서해를 지나 한반도로 연장될 가능성에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 한반도의 중부를 가로지르는 옥천대는 경기육괴와 영남육괴의 경제부로서 변성시기가 초기 Triassic으로 보고되고 있으며, 경기육괴 북부 휴전선 인접지역의 동서방향의 주향을 갖는 습곡-단층대인 임진강대는 남북 경계에 대한 정확한 정의는 성립되어있지는 않지만 Triassic에 광역변성작용을 받았다는 보고가 있으나, 이들 임진강대와 옥천대의 성인에 대한 논란은 현재에 이르기까지 계속되고 있다. Drop Test Simulation of a Fuel Tank (연료탱크의 낙하 시험 시뮬레이션)

  • The fuel tank systems of fixed wing and rotary wing aircrafts require the self-sealing and crash-worthiness for their survivability. For these requirements, the flexible composite fuel tank is generally used. In this study, the performance of the flexible composite fuel tank is investigated. The FE simulation includes the drop test of a fuel tank using MSC.DYTRAN. MSC.DYTRAN can provide the fluid-structure modeling of these test from Euler and Lagrange grids. Using MSC.DYTRAN, the finite element modeling of the test cube of the flexible fuel tank and its FE simulation are performed for various environments. The simulation results can show if the test cube satisfies the performance requirements of the fuel tank.

Effect of Carrier Gas Flow Rate on Magnetic Properties of Bi:YIG Films Deposited with Aerosol Deposition Method (에어로졸성막법에 의해 제작된 Bi:YIG 막에 미치는 에어로졸유량의 영향)

  • Bismuth-substituted yttrium iron garnet(Bi:YIG) films, which show excellent magnetic and magneto-optical properties as well as low optical losses by optimizing their deposition and post-annealing condition, have been attracting great attention in optical device research area. In this study, the Bi:YIG thick films were deposited with the aerosol deposition method for the final purpose of applying them to optical isolators. Since the aerosol deposition is based on the impact adhesion of sub-micrometer particles accelerated by a carrier gas to a substrate, the flow rate of carrier gas, which is in proportion to mechanically collision energy, should be treated as an important parameter. The Bi:YIG($Bi_{0.5}Y_{2.5}Fe_5O_{12}$) particles with $100{\sim}500$ nm in average diameter were carried and accelerated by nitrogen gas with the flow rate of 0.5 l/min${\sim}$10 l/min. The coercive force decreased from 51 Oe to 37 Oe exponentially with increasing gas flow rate. This is presumably due to the fact that the optimal collision energy results in reduction of impurity and pore, which makes the film to be soft magnetically. The saturation magnetization decreased due to crystallographical distortion of the film with increasing gas flow rate.

  • Paleomagnetic studies have made remarkable contributions to the understanding of many geological aspects of Korea for the last 40 years, such as the collisional processes of Korean Peninsula, the development of basins in relation with fault systems, the opening and evolution of the East Sea, and the reconstruction of paleogeographic configuration. These contributions have played an important role in the escalation of geology in Korea by elucidating the mechanisms on Processes of fragmentation and amalgamation of the Peninsula, mountain building, igneous activities, metamorphism, and folding and faulting based on the view of plate tectonics. This paper is intended to introduce and summarize the paleomagnetic research papers designed to decipher the tectonic processes of Korea, according to the geologic ages of the studied rocks.

  • There are two steps to solve the self-collision avoidance problems for redundant manipulators. First, all links are regarded as cylinders. and then the collisions should be checked among all pairs of the links. Between two cylinders. we can get the collision information derived from the concept or configuration space obstacle in real time. Therefore. it is possible to detect the links where collisions are likely in real time by setting the risk radius which is larger than actual radius. Second. the configuration control points (CCP) should be placed at the ends of the detected links. A cost function is the sum of the distances between the CCPs. To maximize the cost function means the links go far away each other without self-collisions.

  • 본 논문은 다단계 상호연결망에서 높은 처리율과 결함 허용을 위해 중복 경로를 제공하는 E-Cube-network 구조를 제안한다. Cube network의 확장된 형태인 E(Extended)-Cube network 구조를 통해 패킷 전송중 충돌이 발생한 경우 스위치 자신을 순환하고, 재차 충돌이 발생하면 멀티플렉서를 통해 또 다른 새로운 경로로 패킷을 전송하는 새로운 알고리즘을 제시한다. 그리고 모의실험을 통해 기존의 Cube network 구조보다 높은 종단간 처리율을 보인다.

28 GHz 초전도 ECRIS의 마이크로파 전파 특성 및 이를 이용한 시스템 설계

  • KBSI 부산센터에 건설중인 소형의 다중 양전하 중이온 가속기에 사용될 초전도 ECR 이온온은 최대 자기장 3 T, 최소 0.5 T의 자기 Mirror구조를 가지고 있으며 중심 부근의 1 T 자기장에서 28 GHz 전자공명에 의해 마이크로파의 에너지를 플라즈마로 전달한다. 최대 10 kW의 Gyrotron에서 TE02 모드로 발생하는 마이크로파는 모드변환기, 직류차단기 및 진공창을 통하여 플라즈마로 입사된다. 32.5 mm 지름의 원형 도파관에서 자기장 축방향으로 도입된 TE01 모드의 마이크로파를 Altar-Appleton-Hartree 분산관계식을 이용하여 군속도의 관점에서 살펴보았다. 플라즈마 밀도가 Cut-off에 근접하지 않는 한 마이크로파의 바깥 방향으로의 회절은 크지 않았으며, 전자공명 위치로 접근함에 따라 군속도의 방향이 바뀌어 오히려 중심 방향으로 향함을 알 수 있다. 즉 마이크로파가 플라즈마 챔버의 벽을 가열시킬 가능성은 크지 않은 것이다. 또한 뜨거운 전자 플라즈마의 Susceptibility를 이용하여 마이크로파의 플라즈마로의 전자 공명에 의한 흡수를 살펴본 결과, 운전 영역에 속하는 전자밀도가 제공되면 공명 지점에 이르기 전에 충분히 흡수되는 것을 확인하였으며, 이에 따라 챔버를 관통하여 인출부 벽에 충돌하는 마이크로파 에너지는 무시할 수 있을 것으로 보여진다. 이 결과들을 토대로 마이크로파 시스템을 설계 완료하였다.
