  • 자기 유사적인 트래픽 성질이 차세대 고속 통신망의 성능에 미치는 영향을 예측 분석하기 위해서는 자기유사 트래픽을 정확하고 효율적으로 모델링하기 위한 연구 및 분석 결과는 인터넷 망이나 새롭게 구현될 시스템에서 반드시 고려하여야 할 사항이라고 판단된다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문에서는 인터넷 데이터 트래픽이 갖는 통계적 특성인 자기유사 트래픽을 발생할 수 있는 시뮬레이션 모델을 제시하고 각 방식의 성능을 분석한 후 이를 기초로 데이터 트래픽이 입력되는 모듈들을 실험할 수 있는 트래픽 발생 방식을 제안하고 마지막으로 결론을 맺는다.

  • Recently, with the exponential growth of the number of Internet users, IP traffic which occupies more than 90 percent of the entire Internet traffic affects significantly to the performance of networks. Therefore, the design of the self-similar traffic generator reflected the feature of IP traffic is very important to design the networks efficiently and evaluate the performance of it correctly. In this paper, we design the self-similar traffic generator using OPNET. In order to implement the self-similar characteristics, ON-OFF sources with Pateto distribution are employed and aggregated. The designed self-similarity traffic generator is evaluated and verified with R/S plot, variance time(VT) plot under the various offered loads and the number of sources. It is expected that the designed self-similar traffic generator can be put to practical use when wire or wireless networks is designed and verified as well as it can be useful to decide the specific parameter value for Internet traffic modeling.

  • Recent measurements of local-area and wide-area traffic have shown that network traffic exhibits at a wide range of scales-Self-similarity. Self-similarity is expressed by long term dependency, this is contradictory concept with Poisson model that have relativity short term dependency. Therefore, first of all for design and dimensioning of next generation communication network, traffic model that are reflected burstness and self-similarity is required. Here self-similarity can be characterized by Hurst parameter. In this paper, when different many data traffic being integrated under various environments is arrived to communication network, Hurst Parameter's change is analyzed and compared with simulation results.

  • 네트워크를 설계하고 서비스를 구현하는데 있어서 중요한 변수중의 하나는 트래픽의 특성을 파악하는 것이다. 트래픽 특성에 관한 최근의 실험적 연구들은 기존의 모델들이 실제 트래픽의 특성을 제대로 나타낼 수 없다는 것을 지적해 왔고 최근 실제 트래픽 모델과 유사한 모델로서 자기 유사한 특성을 이용한 접근법이 대두되고 있다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 실제 트래픽과 유사한 자기 유사 데이터 트래픽을 백그라운드 부하로 발생시켜 기존의 ABR(Available Bit Rate) 혼잡제어 알고리즘 중 fairshare을 지원하는 대표적인 EPRCA(Enhanced Proportional Rate Control Algorithm), ERI-CA(Explicit Rate Indication for Congestion Avoidance), NIST(National Institute of Standards and Technology) 스위치 알고리즘이 버스트한 트래픽에 대해 효율적으로 fairshare을 할당하는지를 알아 보았다.

  • In this paper, we present a new method for estimating the parameters of transient-type signal in additive white Gaussian noise. This method makes use of the truncated singular value decomposition of an extended-order auto-correlation-like matrix based on the linear-prediction model. The method is tested on data consisting of two exponentially dampled sinusoidal signals with the same damping factor and different damping factor. Simulation results are illustrated to demonstrate the better performance of the method applied to the auto-correlation-like matrix than that applied to the data matrix.

  • The Republic of Korea is located far from the boundary of the earthquake plate, and the intra-plate earthquake occurring in these areas is generally small in size and less frequent than the interplate earthquake. Nevertheless, as a result of investigating and analyzing earthquakes that occurred on the Korean Peninsula between the past two years and 1904 and earthquakes that occurred after observing recent earthquakes on the Korean Peninsula, it was found that of a magnitude of 9. In this paper, the Korean Peninsula Historical Earthquake Record (2 years to 1904) published by the National Meteorological Research Institute is used to analyze the relationship between earthquakes on the Korean Peninsula and statistical self-similarity. In addition, the problem solved through this paper was the first to investigate the relationship between earthquake data occurring on the Korean Peninsula and statistical self-similarity. As a result of measuring the degree of self-similarity of earthquakes on the Korean Peninsula using three quantitative estimation methods, the self-similarity parameter H value (0.5 < H < 1) was found to be above 0.8 on average, indicating a high degree of self-similarity. And through graph visualization, it can be easily figured out in which region earthquakes occur most often, and it is expected that it can be used in the development of a prediction system that can predict damage in the event of an earthquake in the future and minimize damage to property and people, as well as in earthquake data analysis and modeling research. Based on the findings of this study, the self-similar process is expected to help understand the patterns and statistical characteristics of seismic activities, group and classify similar seismic events, and be used for prediction of seismic activities, seismic risk assessments, and seismic engineering.

  • One of the most important matters in designing network and realizing service, is to grip on the traffic characteristics. Conventional traffic prediction and analysis used the models which based on the Poisson or Markovian. Recently, experimental research on the LAN, WAN and VBR traffic properties have been pointed rut that they weren't able to display actual real traffic specificities because the models based on the Poisson assumption had been underestimated the long range dependency of network traffic and self-similar peculiarities, it has been lately presented that the new approach method using self-similarity characteristics as similar as the real traffic models. Therefore, in this paper, we generated self-similar data traffic like real traffic as background load. On the existing ABR congestion control algorithm, we analyzed by classify into ACR, buffer utilization. cell drop rate, transmission throughput with the representative EFCI, ERICA, EPRCA and NIST twitch algorithm to show the efficient reaction about the burst traffic.

  • VoIP는 인터넷 프로토콜(IP)를 이용하여 음성을 데이터 packet처럼 전송하는 것을 의미한다. 최근 VoIP 기술의 도입으로 기존 망 성능 관리에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있다. 보다 원활한 기술 구현을 위해서는 VoIP 트래픽에 대한 체계적인 분석과 위험성 검증을 할 수 있는 도구가 필요하다. 또한 기존의 트래픽 시뮬레이션 기법에서 실제 망에서의 자기유사성을 적용한 사례가 적다는 것 또한 본 연구가 행하여진 동기이다. 본 연구에서는 자기유사성을 반영하여 소량의 샘플을 갖고 전체 VoIP 망 트래픽을 생성할 수 있는 방법론을 개발하고자 시도하였다.

  • 인터넷의 민감한 트래픽 특성으로 인해 기존의 트래픽 모델링 분석법으로 최적화된 네트워크 환경을 구성하기에는 부족한 점이 많다. 본 논문에서는 트래픽의 버스트 특성을 정확히 예측하고 모델링 하기 위한 방법으로 자기 유사 특성에 대해 분석하고자 한다. 실제 인터넷 네트워크에서의 RTT(Round-Trip Time)를 측정함으로써 계층, 거리별 링크간의 LRD(Long-Range Dependence) 와 노드 큐의 특성, 자기유사성 정도를 구하고 측정된 데이터의 확률 분포를 통해 실제 트래픽의 특성에 대해 분석하였다
