Stereoscopic depth of surfaces lying in the same visual direction depends on the visual direction of surface features (표면 요소의 시선방향에 의한 동일시선 상에 놓여있는 표면의 입체시 깊이 변화)

  • When two objects are tying in the same visual direction there occurs abrupt depth change between two objects, which is against the assumption of the computational model for stereopsis on the surfaces in a natural scene. For this reason, this stimulus configuration is popularly used in the studies for the effectiveness of the constraints employed in the computational model. Contrary to the results from two nails (or objects) tying in the same visual direction, the two different surfaces from random-dot stereogram (RDS) in the same situation can be seen simultaneously in the different depth. The seemingly contradictory results between two situations my reflect the different strategies imposed by binocular mechanism for each situation during binocular matching process. Otherwise, the surfaces tying in the same visual direction is not equivalent situation to two objects tying in the same visual direction with regards to matching process. In order to examine above possibilities, the stereoscopic depth of the surface was measured after manipulating the visual direction of the surface elements. The visual direction of each dot pair from different surfaces in RDS (in Experiment 1) or the visual direction of line (hawing rectangle with regard to that of the vertical line (in Experiment 2) was manipulated. The stereoscopic depth of the surface was found to be varied depending on visual direction of the surface elements in both RDS and line hawing stimulus. Similar to the results from two nails situation depth of the surface was greatly reduced when each surface element was tying in the same visual direction as that of the other surface element or the other object. These results suggest that binocular mechanism imposes no different strategy in resolving correspondence problem in both two objects and two surfaces situation. And the results were discussed in the context of usefulness of the constraints employed in the computational model for stereopsis.

  • LPEG-21의 주요 요소 중 하나인 Digital Item Adaptation(DIA)은 사용자 선호도(User Preferences) 및 터미널 능력(Terminal Capabilities)에 따라 적응 변환된 디지털 아이템(digital item)을 제공한다. 본 논문은 MPEG-21 프레임워치에서 입체 영상 디지털 아이템의 적응을 구현하는 DIA 테스트베드의 구현을 목적으로 한다. 사용자 선호도에는 입체시차 종류, 길이 범위, 지연 영상 간격 등이 있다. 터미널 능력으로는 코덱, 입체 랜더링 포멧, 디스플레이 타입 등이 있다. 상기 기술자들은 서버로 전송되어 적응된 입체영상이 생성되며, 또한 변환된 입체영상 DI는 사용자의 요구에 따라 MPEG-2 또는 MPEG-4로 엔코딩되어 전송된다. 클라이언트는 서버의 DIA에서 전송되는 입체영상 DI를 Java와 JMF로 구현된 프로그램을 웹 브라우저 상에서 구동된다. 클라이언트는 웹 브라우저로 서버에 접속한 후 원하는 입체영상 DI를 실시간으로 전송 받는다.

  • 3D 영상 산업과 더불어 3D가 적용됨으로써 유망한 산업 분야 중 하나가 바로 게임이다. 2D에서 3D 그래픽으로 그리고 현재는 3D 입체영상으로 진화하면서 이용자로 하여금 깊이감을 제공함으로써 더 큰 즐거움을 주고 있다. 본 연구에서는 게임에서의 입체영상 및 안경 착용여부가 영상의 특성, 프레즌스 그리고 피로도 등에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 했다. 실험결과 디스플레이와 안경착용의 상호작용효과는 인지된 특성 구성요소 중 입체감과 프레즌스 구성요소 중 시간관여에서 유의미하게 나타났다. 입체감과 시간관여의 경우 모두에서, 3D 영상에서 게임을 플레이했을 경우 안경 미착용자가 착용자 보다 더 잘 인지하는 것으로 나타났다.

  • Most of CAE analyses for injection molding have been based on the Mele Shaw's approximation: two-dimensional flow analysis. in some cases, that approximation causes significant errors due to loss of the geometrical information as well as simplification of the flow characteristics in the thickness direction. Although injection molding analysis software using three-dimensional solid elements has been developed recently, such as Moldflow Flow3D, it does not contain a deformation analysis function yet. The present work covers three-dimensional deformation analysis or injection molded plastic parts using solid elements. A numerical scheme for deformation analysis has bun proposed from the results of injection molding analysis using Moldflow Flow3D. The accuracy of the proposed approach has been verified through a numerical analysis of rectangular plates with various thicknesses in comparison with the classical shell-based approach. In addition, the reliability of the approach has also been proved through an industrial example. an optical plastic lens, in comparison of real experiments.

  • Success of brought a large revolution in the world of cinema and the media market. They have predicted new industrial possibility for 3D Stereoscopic image and trends started to support for producing in the field of various media platform. We can see our domestic technology creates higher added value in the sphere of hard-wear for the market of worldwide home TV electronics. But in reality we are short of effective and organized pipeline of producing and we should analyse cases more for Stereoscopic 3D animations. Therefore in this paper, we present case study on animation made into Stereoscopic 3D animation to build up suitable Stereoscopic 3D TV animations pipeline. We differentiate from any other Stereoscopic content by applying artistic elements and technological elements, especially human factor and 3D Sweetening to elevate the level of 3D Stereoscopic effect for main audience, children. We propose how to strengthen the competitiveness of Korean animation for world animation market.

  • 편안한 3차원 입체영상 콘텐츠 제작을 위해선 시청 환경 조건에 부합하는 최적의 제작 방법을 필요로 한다. 현재의 입체영상 제작 과정은 경험자의 지식이나 시청자 실험에 기반 한 가이드라인들을 활용하고 있으나, 특정 제작 환경에 국한되어 있다. 보다 구체적이고 정량적인 가이드라인 도출을 위해선 다양한 카메라 제어 및 시청 환경 요소를 고려한 실험용 입체영상이 제작되고, 그 실험 영상을 기반으로 다양한 시청자 실험 데이터가 구축되어야 한다. 또한, 실험용 입체영상 제작은 단기간에 이루어지고, 실험 목적 변경에 따라 변화 요인을 수용할 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 다양한 실험용 입체영상 제작을 위해, 상업용 3D 게임 엔진 저작 툴(Unity3D)에서 운용되고, 깊이예산(Depth Budget) 제어가 쉽게 가능한 입체 카메라 모듈을 구현하고, 구현된 모듈을 활용한 입체영상의 제작 예를 보여준다.

  • 3D finite element analyses of movable bearing shoe and hinged bearing shoe are performed. The finite element models are built using MSC/PATRAN and analyses are carried out using MSC/NASTRAN. Results are again completely processed using MSC/PATRAN. From the results of the analyses, trends of deformation and stress distribution are reviewed and important factors to consider in the design of bearing shoes are discussed. Furthermore optimum crowning amount for the roller of movable bearing shoe was determined according to the results of the analyses.

  • In recent years, the VR-interactive action contents industry, which utilizes five senses of human bodies, has continued to grow through areas such as games, tourism, movies, performances and exhibitions, but it has reached to breaking point by unrealistic visual elements. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of each evaluation factor based on visual immersion of interactive type of VR action contents to overcome the limitations. For this study, firstly, prior research is reviewed. Secondly, the evaluation factors of visual immersion of interactive type of VR action contents and hypothesis are to be derived. Research finding is that there is no difference to recognize proximity, three-dimensionality, visibility and immersion by gender. Also, in order to influence visual immersion, it is important that 3D modeling of characters and objects must be sophisticated to be fit in with their surroundings and lighting. This makes user to be confused where they are actually in.

  • The quantity of image frames, the widths of transparent slits, and the black bars on the scanline are the three basic elements of scanimation. Besides, the size of scanimation, the color and contrast of scanimation, and the brightness of scanline, etc, can also influence the optical illusion of scanimation. Based on the recent principle of production of 2D scanimation, and through asking questions, and making corresponding experiment, this research finally gets to the conclusion. Based on the principle of production of 3D scanimation, and through various basic testing, this paper aims to verify how to bring out the best visual effects (optical illusion) of animated illusion scanimation in publications by using the 3D animation in the publications. And the future goal is to study and flexibly use Z-axis space in the scanimation.
