  • 조명각 변조방식에 의한 3차원 디스플레이 모듈의 구성요소는 back light unit(BLU), stripe-patterned LC shutter, lenticular lens sheet이다. 이런 3차원 디스플레이 에서 조명각도의 올바른 변조를 위해서는 stripe-patterned LC shutter, lenticular lens sheet 상호 결합이 가장 중요하다. 그림 1 은 이러한 입체영상 module의 개념도이다. 그림과 같이 LC shutter위에 적절한 렌티큘러 렌즈 어레이를 설치할 때, 줄무늬 모양의 면 광원에서 방출된 빛이 한번은 정확히 오른쪽 눈으로 다음 번에는 왼쪽 눈으로 향하게 하여 양안 시차에 의해 3D영상이 보이도록 하는 것이 이 모듈의 핵심원리이다. 3-D Conformal Radiotherapy for CNS Using CT Simulation (입체조준장치를 이용한 중추신경계의 방사선 입체조형치료 계획)

  • Purpose : A new virtual simulation technique for craniospinal irradiation (CSI) that uses a CT-simulator was developed to improve the accuracy of field and shielding placement as well as patient positioning. Materials and Methods : A CT simulator (CT-SIM) and a 3-D conformal radiation treatment planning system (3D-CRT) were used to develop CSI. The head and neck were immobilized with a thermoplastic mask while the rest of the body was immobilized with a Vac-Loc. A volumetric image was then obtained with the CT simulator. In order to improve the reproducibility of the setup, datum lines and points were marked on the head and body. Virtual fluoroscopy was performed with the removal of visual obstacles, such as the treatment table or immobilization devices. After virtual simulation, the treatment isocenters of each field were marked on the body and on the immobilization devices at the conventional simulation room. Each treatment fields was confirmed by comparing the fluoroscopy images with the digitally reconstructed radiography (DRR) and digitally composited radiography (DCR) images from virtual simulation. Port verification films from the first treatment were also compared with the DRR/DCR images for geometric verification. Results : We successfully performed virtual simulations on 11 CSI patients by CT-SIM. It took less than 20 minutes to affix the immobilization devices and to obtain the volumetric images of the entire body. In the absence of the patient, virtual simulation of all fields took 20 min. The DRRs were in agreement with simulation films to within 5 mm. This not only reducee inconveniences to the patients, but also eliminated position-shift variables attendant during the long conventional simulation process. In addition, by obtaining CT volumetric image, critical organs, such as the eyes and the spinal cord, were better defined, and the accuracy of the port designs and shielding was improved. Differences between the DRRs and the portal films were less than 3 m in the vertebral contour. Conclusion : Our analysis showed that CT simulation of craniospinal fields was accurate. In addition, CT simulation reduced the duration of the patient's immobility. During the planning process. This technique can improve accuracy in field placement and shielding by using three-dimensional CT-aided localization of critical and target structures. Overall, it has improved staff efficiency and resource utilization by standard protocol for craniospinal irradiation.

The effect of viewing distance and the speed of motion-in-depth on visual fatigue (시각적 피로도에 영향을 미치는 시청거리와 깊이방향의 운동속도)

  • The present study have investigated the effect of the characteristics of stereoscopic images and viewing environment on visual fatigue. We manipulated the speed of stereo images with motion-in-depth and viewing distance, which were used as representative variables of the characteristics of stereo image and viewing environment, respectively. Visual fatigue was evaluated with use of a subjective questionnaire which is consisting of 5 different and independent factors: "Eye pain", "Visual stress," "Nauseousness", "Body stiffness", and "Blurriness". In general, when viewing time increased from 10 minutes to 20 and 40 minutes, observers felt severe visual fatigue. Among other factors, only the factor score of "Nauseousness" was significantly increased as the speed of object moving in depth became faster. When viewing distance was increased, the score of "Blurriness" was decreased. These results suggest that different kind of the visual fatigue might be induced depending on characteristics of the stereo images and viewing environment.

A Study on the Application of Design Components of 3D Greenery System for Eco-Friendly Indoor and Outdoor Space of Buildings (건축물 내외부의 친환경 구성을 위한 입체녹화의 부문별 디자인 적용요소에 관한 연구)

  • As the 3D Greenery system is known to improve the urban environment, it works as new alternative for eco-friendly building and warrants further study for application to the domestic field. This study aimed to apply the design components for eco-friendly composition by investigating the spatial characteristics of the 3D Greenery System reflected in interior and exterior of buildings and to analyze the organization and design elements of domestic and foreign cases. The results showed that instances of the Greenery System tended to be a large scale and high-density development in order to expand various exterior spaces. Although its early forms were often found in such public facilities as exhibition and education purpose, cases of multi-unit dwelling have been growing. Allowing apartment residents to prefer intimate space by providing various such spaces for residential units and offering independent green spaces would induce diverse residents' lifestyles rather than monotonous design. The analysis also indicated that community space composed of various outdoor spaces and atmosphere would change life patterns of multi-housing and establish a real neighborhood through social interaction. Moreover, further investigation of the design patterns of outdoor space arrangement is needed since the Greenery system actively reflects the environmental characteristics of building sites and clearly shows a tendency to utilize natural terrain and slope in building shapes.

Primary School Spatial Characteristics and Architectural Design Methods based on Prospect and Refuge Concept (조망과 은신개념으로서의 초등학교 공간특성과 건축설계 방법연구)

  • With the possibility of preventing crime through environmental design, CPTED guidelines have been introduced and applied to various places. However, although guidelines may be a useful design tool, there are also limitations to referencing it in the early conceptual phase of school architecture. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the concept of "prospect and refuge", which serves as the basis of CPTED, and derives architectural characteristics and application methods based on the concept. For the case study, this research selected six small to medium-scale elementary schools with outstanding creative ideas built within the last 10 years. The results showed that the spatial characteristics of the "prospect" can be achieved by organizing the three-dimensionality of the space, vista prospect, and design attention on circulation areas. The concept of "refuge" was realized through the segmentation of the mass and spatial enclosure. Although the subjects had different social conditions and educational directions in Korea, this study may be used as a theoretical framework for designing a safe school environment.

  • This study aims to analyze interior spatial characteristics of Korean single-family house which were designed by architects. For that purpose, plans, pictures and data of Korean single-family 113 houses which appeared in architectural publications from 1998.7 to 2002.6. were collected. The results of this study are the followings; 1) the ratio of southern-facing is higher in living room and master bedroom than in dining room and kitchen; 2) spatial elements of master bedroom are bedroom, bathroom and dressroom, those of dining room and kitchen are dining room, kitchen and multipurpose room and those of family bathroom are bathroom and restroom; 3) the living room does not located in the center of the plan; 4) the ratio of exterior door is higher in kitchen and master bedroom than in dinning room and living room; 5) stairs located in hall, corridor, livingroom etc., 6) there are void spaces in about half of houses which were collected.

  • 족부(足部)의 구조적 복잡성으로 인하여 부상이나 질병을 진단하거나 수술계획을 수립하는데 있어 많은 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 소아만곡족(小兒巒曲足) 수술 시뮬레이션을 위한 원격 진단보조시스템을 설계하고 구현하였다. 본 시스템은 족부를 구성하는 뼈간의 관계를 정의하고 기형 정도를 파악하기 위하여 일련의 2차원 진단 영상들을 공간적으로 구성하여 입체적 영상을 생성하고, 이동, 회전, 확대/축소, 컬러링과 같은 다양한 조작 기능을 제공한다. 본 개발 시스템은 원격 수술 시뮬레이션을 위하여 클라이언트-서버 구조로 이루어졌으며, 시스템 간 사용되는 메시지 처리를 위한 진단 제어 관리기, 족부별 가시화 및 조작을 위한 수술 시뮬레이션 관리기, 원격 사용을 위한 통신망 제어기, 그리고 각종 환자 정보를 위한 데이터베이스 관리기로 구성된다. 또한 범용의 데스크탑 컴퓨터 상에서 사용자 인터페이스를 통하여 서버에 접속하여 진단보조시스템을 사용함으로써 보다 많은 사용자들이 동시에 사용할 수 있는 이점이 있다.

Stereoscopic Effect of 3D images according to the Quality of the Depth Map and the Change in the Depth of a Subject (깊이맵의 상세도와 주피사체의 깊이 변화에 따른 3D 이미지의 입체효과)

  • In this paper, we analyze the effect of the depth perception, volume perception and visual discomfort according to the change of the quality of the depth image and the depth of the major object. For the analysis, a 2D image was converted to eighteen 3D images using depth images generated based on the different depth position of a major object and background, which were represented in three detail levels. The subjective test was carried out using eighteen 3D images so that the degrees of the depth perception, volume perception and visual discomfort recognized by the subjects were investigated according to the change in the depth position of the major object and the quality of depth map. The absolute depth position of a major object and the relative depth difference between background and the major object were adjusted in three levels, respectively. The details of the depth map was also represented in three levels. Experimental results showed that the quality of the depth image differently affected the depth perception, volume perception and visual discomfort according to the absolute and relative depth position of the major object. In the case of the cardboard depth image, it severely damaged the volume perception regardless of the depth position of the major object. Especially, the depth perception was also more severely deteriorated by the cardboard depth image as the major object was located inside the screen than outside the screen. Furthermore, the subjects did not felt the difference of the depth perception, volume perception and visual comport from the 3D images generated by the detail depth map and by the rough depth map. As a result, it was analyzed that the excessively detail depth map was not necessary for enhancement of the stereoscopic perception in the 2D-to-3D conversion.

신호제어를 고려한 가로망 설계모형의 구축에 대한 연구

  • 가로망은 사회의 발전과 더불어 날로 늘어나고 있는 통행수요를 직접적으로 처리하게 되는 기반시설이다. 따라서 가로망의 구성과 운영은 심각하게 대두되고 있는 교통혼잡 등의 제반문제들을 해결하기 위해 기본적으로 고려되어야 한다. 이를 위해서 연구되어온 가로망 설계 모형들은 새로운 도로의 건설이나 기존 도로의 확장 등을 통해 가로망을 조정하여, 사용자들의 선택에 영향을 줌으로써 통행 흐름을 원활하게 하고자 한다. 이러한 가로망 설계 과정에서 사용자들에 의해서 초래된 통행비용의 개선과 이를 위해 사용된 투자비용 사이의 관계를 고려하여 적절한 대안을 선택하게 된다. 일반적으로 도시부의 경우, 차량들의 통행패턴은 가로망의 물리적 구성(기하구조, 용량 등)뿐만 아니라, 신호제어(주기, 녹색시간 등)에 의해서 결정된다. 그러므로 가로망 설계 모형에서 고려되는 사용자의 통행비용의 경우, 단순히 가로망의 통행시간 뿐만 아니라 신호제어에 의해서 부가되는 지체도 고려해야 하며, 이를 통해 가로망의 계획단계에서 중요하게 생각해야하는 요소의 하나인 차량의 이동성과 접근성의 부여도 가능하게 될 것이다. 즉, 이동성을 중요시하는 도로와 접근성을 위주로 하는 도로 각각의 기능에 부합하는 가로망 설계가 필요한 것이다. 위에서 언급한 것처럼 기존의 가로망 설계모형의 경우, 단순히 용량의 변화에 대한 링크 통행시간과 이로 인한 통행량의 변화만을 고려하고 있는 상황이다. 하지만, 도시부에서 실제 차량의 통행패턴은 단순히 도로의 기하학적 용량뿐만 아니라, 교차로에서의 신호제어에 의한 지체에도 상당한 영향을 받게 되며, 가로망 설계 모형에서 이를 반영할 수 있어야 한다. 따라서, 본 논문에서는 이러한 신호제어의 영향들을 고려함으로써 가로망 설계 과정에서 가로망의 상반된 역할인 이동성과 접근성의 비교가 가능한 보다 현실적인 가로망 설계 모형을 구축하고자 한다. 지금까지 소개된 가로망 설계모형들은 용량변화에 대한 설계변수의 형태에 따라 이산적 가로망 설계 모형과 연속적 가로망 설계모형으로 나뉘어지게 된다. 본 논문의 경우, 계산속도의 향상 측면에서는 연속적 가로망 설계 모형을 도입할 수 있지만, 이때 요구되는 도로용량이 이산적인 변수(차선 수)로 결정되어야만 신호제어 변수를 결정할 수 있기 때문에, 이산적 가로망 설계 모형이 사용된다. 하지만, 이산적 설계모형의 경우 조합최적화 문제이므로 정확한 최적해를 구하기 위해서는 상당한 시간이 소요되며, 경우에 따라서는 국부 최적해에 빠지게 된다. 이러한 문제를 극복하기 위해, 우선 이상적 모형의 근사화, 혹은 조합최적화문제를 위해 개발된 Simulated Annealing기법의 적용, 연속적 모형의 변수를 이산화하는 방법 등 다양한 모형들을 고려해 본 뒤, 적절한 모형을 적용할 것이다. 가로망 설계 모형에서 신호제어를 고려하기 위해서는 주어진 가로망에 대한 통행 배정과정에서 고려되는 통행시간을 링크통행시간과 교차로 지체시간을 동시에 고려해야 하는데, 이러한 문제의 해결을 위해서 최근 활발히 논의되고 있는 교차로에서의 신호제어에 대응하는 통행배정 모형을 도입하여 고려하고자 한다. 이를 위해서 지금까지 연구되어온 Global Solution Approach와 Iterative Approach를 비교, 검토한 뒤 모형에 보다 알맞은 방법을 선택한다. 차량의 교차로 통행을 고려하는 performance function의 경우 비신호 교차로와 신호교차로에 대한 적절한 비교가 현재로서는 고려되고 있지 못하기 때문에, 구성되는 가로망의 경우 신호교차로들로만 구성되며, 부득이한 경우 입체교차의 형태로 구성되는 것으로 가정한다. 실제 가로망의 경우, 교통향이 많은 도시부의 경우 주가로망은 대부분 신호교차로와 입체교차로 구성되기 때문에 가능할 것으로 생각된다. 기존의 신호제어 모형과 가로망 설계모형을 결합하여 통합된 가로망 설계모형의 구축하기 위해, 기존의 연구결과들을 종합하여 보다 적절한 모형을 선택하고, 개선하며, 이의 적용성을 시험하기 위해서, 가상 가로망을 구성하여 모형의 적용 결과를 분석한다.
