Design of Control Algorithm for Mass Driving Anti-Rolling System Considering Control Input Constraint (제어 입력포화를 고려한 횡동요 저감장치용 제어알고리듬 설계)

  • Reduction of a ship's rolling is the most important performance requirement for improving the safety of the crew on board and preventing damage to cargos as well as improving the comfort of the ride. A mass driving anti-rolling system (MO-ARS) might be one candidate of several systems against the ship's rolling. As the movable range of the mass on the ship is finite, the control system must include restriction on the mass position to protect the device and the ship. This restriction usually causes windup phenomenon and control performance is deteriorated seriously. Two control algorithms, anti-windup control and saturated sliding mode control, are studied in this paper. Control performance and robustness problem are checked out by numerical simulations.

  • By using gain saturation of semiconductor optical amplifiers (SOAs), an all-optical AND gate at 10 Gb/s has been successfully demonstrated. Firstly, Boolean (equation omitted) has been obtained using the first SOA with signal B and clock injection. Then, the all-optical AND gate is achieved using the second SOA with signals A and (equation omitted) injection.

  • A numerical study of the performance assesment of coupled thermo-hydro-mechanical (THM) processes in improved Korean reference disposal system (KRS+) for high-level radioactive waste is conducted using TOUGH2-MP/FLAC3D simulator. Decay heat from high-level radioactive waste increases the temperature of the repository, and it decreases as decay heat is reduced. The maximum temperature of the repository is below a maximum temperature criterion of 100℃. Saturation of bentonite buffer adjacent to the canister is initially reduced due to pore water evaporation induced by temperature increase. Bentonite buffer is saturated 250 years after the disposal of high-level radioactive waste by inflow of groundwater from the surrounding rock mass. Initial saturation of rock mass decreases as groundwater in rock mass is moved to bentnonite buffer by suction, but rock mass is saturated after inflow of groundwater from the far-field area. Stress changes at rock mass are compared to the Mohr-Coulomb failure criterion and the spalling strength in order to investigate the potential rock failure by thermal stress and swelling pressure. Additional simulations are conducted with the reduced spacing of deposition holes. The maximum temperature of bentonite buffer exceeds 100℃ as deposition hole spacing is smaller than 5.5 m. However, temperature of about 56.1% volume of bentonite buffer is below 90℃. The methodology of numerical modeling used in this study can be applied to the performance assessment of coupled THM processes for high-level radioactive waste repositories with various input parameters and geological conditions such as site-specific stress models and geothermal gradients.

A Study on the Characteristics of the Radio-Frequency Induction Discharge Plasma (고주파 유도방전 플라즈마 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Electron temperature and electron density were rreasured in a radio-frequency inductively coupled plasma (RFICP) using a Langmuir probe method. Measurerrent was conducted in an argon discharge for pressures from 10 mTorr to 40 mTorr and input rf rnwer from 100 W to 600 W. Spatial distribution electroo temperature and electron density were rreasured for discharge with satre aspect ratio (R/L=2). Electron temperature and electron density were discovered depending on both pressure and power. Electron density was increased with iocreasing input power, but saturated at 450 W. Electron density was iocreased with iocreasing pressure. Radial distribution of the electron density was peaked at the rnsition which was a little rmved from center toward quartz window. Normal distribution of the electron density was peaked in the center between quartz plate and substrate. The above results could contribute to understand the Mechanism of Radio-Frequency Inductively Discharge Plasma.Plasma.

  • This paper proposes a decentralized robust adaptive control scheme for robot manipulators with input torque saturation in the presence of uncertainties. The control system should consider the practical problems that the controller gain coefficients of each joint may be nonlinear time-varying and the input torques applied at each joint are saturated. The proposed robot controller overcomes the various uncertainties and the input saturation problem. The proposed controller is comparatively simple and has no robot model parameters. The proposed controller is adjusted by the adaptation laws and the stability of the control system is guaranteed by the Lyapunov function analysis. Simulation results show the validity and robustness of the proposed control scheme.

  • Self-tuning control algorithms for an input-amplitude constrained system are developed and implemented. Magnitude of control input for small motors is generally restricted to narrow bound due to actuator saturation. The gain-adjusted control algorithm and the bounded-gain control algorithm proposed in this study yield smoother control input variations within the magnitude constraints comparing with the existing Clarke's suboptimal control algorithm. In the gain-adjusted control algorithm, the feedforward gain is adjusted using maximum gain, while in the bounded-gain control algorithm, the feedforward gain is bounded using weighting factor. For the DC servo motor control, the system performances of the proposed algorithms are compared with those of the existing algorithm by computer simulation and experiment. It is shown that the input variations of the proposed algorithms are smoother as compared with the existing algorithm.

  • GSSHA(Gridded Surface Subsurface Hydrologic Analysis) 모형은 미 공병단 연구개발센터(USACE ERDC; US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering Research and Development Center)체서 개발된 물리적인 개념의 공간 분포형(PBSD; Physically Based Spatially Distributed) 수문모형으로, CASC2D 모형(Ogden 와 Julien, 2002; Downer 등, 2002)을 개선, 확장한 모형이다. GSSHA 모형의 실행에는 Brigham Young 대학의 컴퓨터그래픽공학연구실에 의해 개발된 미 국방성 WMS(Watershed Modeling System) 인터페이스를 사용하며, 이를 통해 많은 입력과 출력조건을 가지는 분포형 모형의 복잡한 모의 과정을 효과적으로 처리할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 GSSHA 모형을 이용하여 경안천 유역의 물순환 양상을 분석하였다. GSSHA 모형은 유역을 균일한 유한 차분 격자로 나누어 각각의 격자를 기본 단위로 모의한다. 모형의 주요 모의 모듈은 강우 분포, 융설, 차단, 침투, 증발산, 지표면 저류, 2차원 표면류 추적, 1차원 하도 추적, 불포화 층 모의, 2차원 포화 지하 대수층 흐름, 지표면 유사 침식, 하천 유사 추적 등이 포함된다.

  • 항공기, 차량, 유도탄 등과 같은 동적인 플랫폼에서 표적을 추적하기 위해서는 시선을 안정화하는 외부의 추적루프와 내부의 속도 루프를 포함하는 서보 구조가 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 내부의 속도 루프인 안정화 루프에 큰 입력 전압이 인가되었을 때 구동기(Actuator) 포화 현상에 의해서 공간 안정화 루프 성능이 나빠지지 않게 와인드업 방지(Anti-windup) 기능을 가진 디지털 비례적분(Proportional Integral, PI) 제어기를 설계한다. 디지털 와인드업 방지 비례적분 제어기는 일반적으로 SISO 시스템 설계를 위한 방법으로 와인드업 방지 기능을 가진 R, S, T 다항식으로 표현되는 입출력 형태의 제어기를 이용하여 설계하였다. 설계된 제어기는 모델링에 의한 시뮬레이션 결과와 실험결과를 통해 성능을 분석하였다.

  • 진행파형 광 검출기의 흡수영역에 입사되는 광전력은 흡수계수의 비로써 흡수되어 광전류를 생성한다. 흡수계수는 입사되는 작은 광전력에 독립적이지만, 충분히 큰 광전력에 대해서는 비선형적 함수가 된다. 본 논문에서는 입사되는 광전력의 크기에 따라 흡수계수가 비선형적으로 변화하는 식을 광포화 현상을 포함하여 모델링 하였고, 모델링 한 식을 사용하여 흡수영역에서 생성된 광전류를 계산하였다. 포화흡수로 인해 생성된 광전류가 비선형 특성이 나타남을 모의실험으로 계산하였다. 위의 결과를 입력 광전력에 독립적인 흡수계수를 이용하여 계산한 광전류와 비교하였다. 그리고 입사되는 광전력에 따라 생성된 비선형적 광전류의 특성을 투-톤 실험을 통해 고조파 성분으로 계산하였다.

  • When the manipulator consisting of high ratio gear reducers at its joints is used as the slave manipulator in teleoperated systems, its dynamic characteristics is much slower than that of the master manipulator and it is likely to encounter the saturation in the input magnitude. The control input saturation generates an windup phenomenon that the system stability and position tracking performance of the slave manipulator are to be deteriorated. This paper proposes an force reflecting control scheme and its design method which compensates the control input saturation with absolute stability. The proposed scheme is shown to give a stable force reflection while compensating for control input saturation effectively.
