In this study, an attempt was made to investigate the clinical reasoning of nursing students and to identify the factors that influence it. This study was held to grasp the learning ability related to core nursing competency for 297 3rd and 4rd grade nursing students. Results indicated that there was a significant difference when comparing clinical competence by grade(p=0.001). Also variables effecting clinical reasoning competence were Problem solving ability, Clinical Decision making ability, Clinical practice performance, and grade of nursing students were found to be significant (p,.001). Outcome of this study can be used as the basis for the development of various curriculums to enhance the clinical reasoning competence, in the future, research for this education development is expected to be needed.
The purpose of this study was to identify factors affecting clinical practice-related fatigue among undergraduate nursing students. The data were collected from a questionnaire distributed among 129 juniors and seniors (3rd and 4th year students) in nursing college at the G city, who were at the end of clinical practice. Multiple regression analysis found that the significant major predictors of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students were sleep quality (${\beta}=.30$), anxiety (${\beta}=.26$), exercise frequency (${\beta}=-.21$) and clinical practice stress (${\beta}=.19$). These variable factors could explain 33.6% of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students. This study suggests that sleep quality, anxiety, exercise frequency, and clinical practice stress are significant factors of clinical practice-related fatigue among nursing students. Therefore, strategies improving sleep quality and exercise and managing anxiety and stress should be developed to reduce the fatigue for nursing students during clinical exposure.
This study was a cross-sectional study done to determine the relevance and impact factors of critical thinking and nursing practice environment on clinical decision making among nurses. A survey was conducted for April 2017 with self-report questionnaire. Participants were 261 registered nurses working in one tertiary hospital. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and hierarchical regression analysis with SPSS/WIN(21.0). Factors affecting clinical decision making included age, educational background, position, work shift, clinical career. Clinical decision making had a positive correlation with critical thinking and nursing practice environment. And position, critical thinking and nursing practice environment accounted for 35.8% of the variance in clinical decision making. Therefore, quality management for developing nursing professionalism and administrative support for effective staffing and resource adequacy in addition improving critical thinking increase nurses'clinical decision making.

In this paper, we propose a crucial issue to require further management plan for Korean hospital nurses in burnout during COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this study was to conduct a systematic review of factors related to hospital nurses in burnout for the COVID-19 outbreak. Appropriate studies in the recent three years were selected from database. To perform a systematic review, the databases of RISS, KISS, DBPIA, and Kyobo scholar were searched using the key words, 'nurse in burnout' or 'burnout for nurse'. Fifty-five references were checked, but only seven studies were decided inclusion criteria to review. It was founded that Korean hospital nurses felt moderate or higher burnout level for COVID-19 pandemic. We were confirmed that related factors of hospital nurses in burnout were personal characteristics, physical symptom, depression, compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, and resilience, and occupational characteristics, shift work and job stress. It may be necessary to provide regulating programs for hospital nurses in burnout and to set up a policy and guidelines so as to reduce burnout of nurses working.
This study was done to explore clinical competence and factors related to competence in dental hygiene students. This study performed a survey on such an issue from March 2 to June 12, 2015 for 329 dental hygiene students who were residing in Busan and Ulsan. In the result by the satisfaction of the major, there is the highest score in the satisfaction of the critical thinking, self-leadership, satisfaction in clinical practice and ability of clinical performance. The critical thinking reveals the positive relationship with the self-leader ship(r=0.884) and the ability of clinical performance(r=0.845). Whereas the self-leader ship show the negative relation with stress in clinical practice(r=-0.796). The most important factor affecting on the clinical competence among dental hygiene students was critical thinking(p<0.001), followed by self-leadership(p<0.01) and satisfaction of clinical practice(p<0.01). In results, the critical thinking, the self-leader ship and the satisfaction of clinical practice have an effects on the ability of clinical performance of the dental hygiene students. The teaching learning strategy and the educational programs to enhance the critical thinking and self-leader ship should be developed. Furthermore, the present study can be used as the base data for the systematic and convergence program to improve the satisfaction of clinical practice and the ability of clinical performance.
The aim of this study was to identify the convergence factors contributing to clinical practice satisfaction in Korean nursing students. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaires from April 1 to May 15, 2015. The participants were 83 nursing students, and a mid-sized private university school of nursing in the Korea was selected. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, T-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 22.0 program. Satisfaction in major significantly differed by age. Clinical practice satisfaction was positively correlated with satisfaction in major and clinical competence. The factors that significantly influenced clinical practice satisfaction were clinical competence and satisfaction in major, which together explained 26% of the total variance. To improve satisfaction in major and clinical competence among Korean nursing students, it will be necessary to provide nursing students with clinical adaptation programs and preceptor education.
This study aimed to differences of satisfaction among the 182 medical technologists (MT) in Korea according to gender, age, carrier, employment status, and hospital type. The results showed that the overall mean of the total satisfaction score is 3.33 and interpersonal satisfaction was the highest with 3.83, followed by job satisfaction, education satisfaction, affiliation satisfaction, working environment satisfaction, leisure satisfaction, turnover intention. The job satisfaction of MT increased with age and experience, and with full-time employees (P<0.05). In order to increase job satisfaction and reduce turnover intentions of MT, practical changes in welfare, wages, and working environment should be considered for both regular and non-regular workers in their 20s with 1 to 3 years of experience who had the lowest job satisfaction and the highest intention to leave. Analysis of these factors, it is expected that the result of this study will serve as important reference material for identifying the intention of turnover and establishing an effective personnel policy.

Purpose : We aimed to compare the frequency of positive repeat urine cultures 48 hours after antimicrobial treatment between anatomically normal and abnormal urinary tract Infection (UTI) groups to determine the potential clinical usefulness of the tests. Methods : We reviewed medical records of 930 patients under age 14, who had been admitted for UTI at Gyeongsang National University Hospital from January 1, 1998 to August 1, 2008. The eligible patients were divided into two groups the anatomically normal UTI group and the anatomically abnormal UTI group. Statistical analyses were performed with variables consisting of the sex ratio, age distribution and the frequency of positive repeat urine cultures of each group. Results : The sex ratio of the anatomically normal UTI group was M:F=1.9:1, whereas that of the anatomically abnormal UTI group was M:F=3.5:1 (P=0.019). For age distribution, it was found that the mean age of the anatomically normal UTI group was $0.82{\pm}1.83$ years, whereas that of the anatomically abnormal UTI group was $1.18{\pm}2.57$ years (P=0.113). The frequency of positive repeat urine cultures in the anatomically normal UTI group was 3/279 (1.1%), whereas that of the anatomically abnormal UTI group was 1/90 (1.1%) (P=0.675). Conclusion : We conclude that performing a repeat urine culture is not justified in terms of clinical usefulness, and it is unreasonable to use the results as an index of therapeutic success. A follow-up urine culture is unnecessary in patients with both the anatomically normal and abnormal UTI group.
