  • As Unmanned Aerial Vehicles technology has been widespread, various types of unmanned aircraft and mission equipment have been developed in line with mission diversification. Especially in Korea, small unmanned aerial vehicles have been actively developed. In addition, flight control system and mission equipment interface system for effective control of small unmanned aerial vehicles, efficient communication system configuration and operation for transmission to ground operated systems by processing data are required. This paper addresses efficient system structure and operation of communication equipment for missions and control of small unmanned aerial vehicles.

  • The application of the unmanned vehicles in various fields has been attracting attention, and the development of a service utilizing unmanned vehicles has been proceeding. As the service market using the unmanned vehicles rapidly increases, the demand for the development of software for performing the mission with unmanned vehicles is increasing. In particular, as the demand for unmanned vehicle utilization services for public missions such as fire detection, mail delivery, and facility management increases, the importance of developing mission software for unmanned vehicle is increasing. To develop common mission software, architecture design should be made so that unmanned vehicle service provider can easily develop software using reusable libraries or functions through analysis commonly required by various public institutions. In this paper, we discuss the research trends of mission software for public mission unmanned vehicles. In addition, the architecture design of developing formal mission software is proposed. Finally, we propose a data transfer architecture between mission software and data platform.

  • MC(Mission Computer) performs important function in avionics system which tactic data processing, image processing and managing navigation system etc. In general, the fault of SPOF(Single Point Of Failure) in unity system can lead to failure of whole system. It can cause a failure of a mission and also can threaten to the life of the pilot. So, in this paper, we design the HA(Hight-availability) system so that dealing with the failure. And we use HA software like Heartbeat, Fake, DRBD and Bonding to manage HA system. Also we analyze the performance of HA system using the FDT(Fault Detection Time) for fast fault detection and MTTR(Mean Time To Repair) for mission continuity.

  • 현재 군사적, 상업적 또는 과학적 목적의 많은 인공위성들이 개발되고 있고, 실제로 이러한 목적의 인공위성들이 우주공간에서 각각의 맡은 임무를 수행하고 있다. 해양관측용 자료 및 10m급 해상도의 영상 자료를 제공해 주고 있는 다목적실용위성 1호의 경우, 자료 획득의 임무를 수행하기 위해 많은 내부적인 준비작업과 주변장치들을 필요로 하게 된다. 주변장치들도 각각의 역할을 수행하면서 필요한 정보를 다른 장치로부터 받기도 하고 다른 장치에 필요한 정보를 주기도하는 상호작용을 하게 된다. 또한 위성의 전체적인 상태나 구성하고 있는 주변장치들의 상태에 대한 정보를 지상의 관제소에서 계속적으로 점검해야 한다. 그러나 궤도를 돌고있는 위성은 관제소와 항상 정보를 주고받을 수는 없으므로 위성의 상태 데이터를 정해진 형식으로 저장해 두었다가 필요시 이를 지상에 보내줄 수 있어야 한다. 이와 같은 내부 장치들에 대한 하드웨어 데이터와 위성의 상태 데이터를 획득, 관리 및 저장하기 위한 프로그램이 다목적실용위성 2호에 탑재될 수 있도록 위성탑재 소프트웨어의 상세설계가 이루어 겼다. 이 설계된 프로그램을 이용하여 다목적실용위성 2호의 텔레메트리 데이터의 획득이 이루어질 것이며 현재 탑재 소프트웨어에 대한 검증이 수행되고 있다.

정지궤도 기상위성의 관측 데이터 전송 시스템 구성 및 기술 동향

  • 정지궤도 상에서 기상 관측 임무를 수행하고 있는 주요 기상위성의 관측 데이터의 전송 및 분배 시스템의 구성 현황 및 주요 전송 파라미터를 분석하고 현재 개발되고 있는 통신해양기상위성의 관측 데이터 전송 시스템 구성 및 채널별 주요 전송 파라미터를 제시한다. 제한된 기상 주파수 전송 대역에 대해 갈수록 고성능화 되어가는 기상 센서에 따른 대용량 기상관측 데이터 전송 및 분배를 위한 전송 방법 및 주파수 대역의 변경, 지상망 및 상업용 위성 통신망의 활용방안을 살펴본다.

  • 무장데이터링크 시뮬레이션은 네트워크 기반 유도무기 모델링을 위하여 M&S 기술을 바탕으로 무장데이터링크의 운용성 및 정밀타격 성능을 검증하기 위한 시뮬레이션 소프트웨어다. 네트워크 기반 유도무기 모델은 원격임무통제를 위한 무장데이터링크망과 가상전장을 위한 시뮬레이션망이 연동하는 분산네트워크 환경에서 동작한다. 이때 유도탄모델 인터페이스는 다수의 프로토콜과 종속관계를 갖게 된다. 따라서 프로토콜이 수정될 때마다 유도탄모델 뿐만 아니라, 해당 인터페이스를 사용하는 다른 프로토콜도 수정되어야 한다. 또한 시뮬레이션 특성상 다양한 운용개념이 유도탄모델에 적용될 수 있다. 기존 고정표적 유도탄모델에 임무통제기능을 적용할 경우, 기존 모델이 훼손될 뿐만 아니라 기능 추가 및 삭제가 쉽지 않다는 문제가 있다. 본 논문은 서로 다른 프로토콜을 유도탄모델에 쉽게 적용하고 변경할 수 있는 프로토콜 변경용이성과 기 개발된 고정표적 유도탄모델을 변경하지 않고 무장데이터링크 운용 개념을 적용할 수 있는 유도탄모델 확장성을 위한 구조를 제안한다.

  • In recent years, the development of defense technology has become digital with the introduction of advanced assets such as drones equipped with artificial intelligence. These assets are integrated with modern information technologies such as industrial IoT, artificial intelligence, and cloud computing to promote innovation in the defense domain. However, the convergence of the technology is increasing the possibility of transfer of cyber threats, which is emerging as a problem of increasing the vulnerability of defense assets. While the current cybersecurity methodologies focus on the vulnerability of a single asset, interworking of various military assets is necessary to perform the mission. Therefore, this paper recognizes these problems and presents a mission-based asset management and evaluation methodology. It aims to strengthen cyber security in the defense sector by identifying assets that are important for mission execution and analyzing vulnerabilities in terms of cyber security. In this paper, we propose a method of classifying mission dependencies through linkage analysis between functions and assets to perform a mission, and identifying and classifying assets that affect the mission. In addition, a case study of identifying key assets was conducted through an attack scenario.

  • ASDR(Avionic System Development Rig) is used as a development tool during the design and development of the ASC/OFP and then can be used as a maintenance tool after developing them for a military aircraft. This paper describes the overall structure and the important features of KO-1 ASDR, especially about the dynamic simultion of inertial and air data sensors.

  • Drones, one of the 4th industrial technologies that are expanding from military use to industrial use, are being actively used in the search missions of the National Police Agency and finding missing persons, thereby reducing interest in a wide area and the input of large-scale search personnel. However, legal review of police drone operation is continuously required, and the importance of advanced system for related operations and analysis of captured images in connection with search techniques is increasing at the same time. In this study, in order to facilitate recording, preservation, and monitoring in the concept of precise search and monitoring, it is possible to achieve high efficiency and secure golden time when precise search is performed by constructing spatial information based on photo rather than image data-based search. Therefore, we intend to propose a spatial information construction technique that reduces the resulting data volume by adjusting the unnecessary spatial information completion rate according to the size of the subject. Through this, the scope of use of drone search missions for large-scale areas is advanced and it is intended to be used as basic data for building a drone operation manual for police searches.

Conceptual Design and Study on the Performance Enhancement of Tilt Rotor UAV for Disaster and Policing Operation (재난치안용 틸트로터 무인기 개념설계 및 성능 향상 연구)

  • In this study, an aerodynamic configuration design and study on performance enhancement of a tilt-rotor UAV were conducted for improving mission capabilities compared to multi-copter type UAV, MC-1/2/3 developed for disaster and policing operation. To improve performance, a new TR5X configuration was developed by modifying the fuselage and tail shape of TR60 UAV and additionally attaching an extended wing to the nacelle. Aerodynamic performances of TR60 and TR5X were compared through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. In addition, flight performance analysis of full aircraft was conducted. Results showed that main performance requirements of TR5X were satisfied.
