Multiple Supply Voltage Scheduling Techniques for Minimal Energy Consumption (에너지 소모 최소화를 위한 다중 전압 스케줄링 기법)

  • In this paper, we propose a multiple voltage scheduling method which reduces energy consumption considering both timing constraints and resource constraints. In the other multiple voltage scheduling techniques, high voltage is assigned to operations in the longest path and low voltage is assigned to operations that are not on the longest path. However, in those methods, voltages are assigned to specific operations restrictively. We use a simulated annealing technique, in which several voltages are assigned to specific operations flexibly regardless of whether they are on the longest path. In this paper, a post processing algorithm is proposed to further reduce the energy consumption. In some cases, designers may want to reduce the level shifters. To make tradeoff between the total energy and the number (or energy) of level shifters weighted term can be added to the cost function. When the level shifter energy is weighted six times, for example, the number of level shifters is reduced by about 24% and their energy consumption is reduced by about 20%.

  • New criteria to evaluate blasting damage to structure is proposed considering environmental caused daily deformation of cracks in structures. Results from 3 brick houses in fishing village shows that more than 10 times higher vibration level than design criteria of 0.5 kine is required to cause structural damage.

코로나19의 백신개발 동향 및 백신비축 규모에 관한 소론

  • 본고는 코로나19라는 글로벌 팬데믹 상황에서 감염병 역학모형에 관한 내용과 기초재생산수, 집단면역임계, 백신비축 등의 주요 개념을 개론 수준에서 다루었다. 국내 첫 감염자 발생 이후 4월 12일까지의 데이터를 기준으로 분석해 볼 때 한국의 기초재생산수는 약 2의 값을 가지는데 이는 코로나19가 발생한 다른 나라에 비해 현저히 낮은 수치로 평가된다. 만일에 코로나19 백신이 개발되는 것을 가정하여 이의 비축규모를 추정해보면 인구의 최소 62%에 공급할 수 있는 수준이어야 하는 것으로 나타났다. 한편, 한국의 코로나19의 성공적 대응에는 사회적 거리두기 정책이 주된 요인 중의 하나라는 점도 발견하였다. 그러나 5월 이후 사회적 거리두기에 대한 다소 느슨해진 경향이 없지 않은데, 지역감염의 확산을 위해서는 원론적으로 대응할 필요가 있다. 본고는 학술적 관점이 아닌, 방역의 실무적 차원에서 역학모형, 그리고 경제-역학 모형을 활용하는 방법을 소개한 것 뿐이다. 보다 정교한 역학 모형을 제대로 연구하기 위해서는 상당한 규모의 팀워크가 필요하다. 2015년 메르스 이후 역학조사를 위한 자원이 보강되었다 하지만, 앞으로 역학조사 인력, 데이터 시스템 구축, 그리고 보건·경제·통계·수학 분야 등의 연구진이 보강되어야 할 것이다.

Estimating the Investment Value of Fuel Cell Power Plant Under Dual Price Uncertainties Based on Real Options Methodology (이중 가격 불확실성하에서 실물옵션 모형기반 연료전지 발전소 경제적 가치 분석)

  • Hydrogen energy is emerging as an important means of carbon neutrality in the various sectors including power, transportation, storage, and industrial processes. Fuel cell power plants are the fastest spreading in the hydrogen ecosystem and are one of the key power sources among means of implementing carbon neutrality in 2050. However, high volatility in system marginal price (SMP) and renewable energy certificate (REC) prices, which affect the profits of fuel cell power plants, delay the investment timing and deployment. This study applied the real option methodology to analyze how the dual uncertainties in both SMP and REC prices affect the investment trigger price level in the irreversible investment decision of fuel cell power plants. The analysis is summarized into the following three. First, under the current Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS), dual price uncertainties passed on to plant owners has significantly increased the investment trigger price relative to one under the deterministic price case. Second, reducing the volatility of REC price by half of the current level caused a significant drop in investment trigger prices and its investment trigger price is similar to one caused by offering one additional REC multiplier. Third, investment trigger price based on gray hydrogen and green hydrogen were analyzed along with the existing byproduct hydrogen-based fuel cells, and in the case of gray hydrogen, economic feasibility were narrowed significantly with green hydrogen when carbon costs were applied. The results of this study suggest that the current RPS system works as an obstacle to the deployment of fuel cell power plants, and policy that provides more stable revenue to plants is needed to build a more cost-effective and stable hydrogen ecosystem.

  • In this paper, we implement sequence-based anomaly detection sensor using SOM and HMM, and analyze what is important information in system call and how a threshold is decided. The new filtering and reduction rules of SOM reduces the input size of HMM. This gives real-time processing to HMM-based anomaly detection sensor. Also, we introduced an anomaly count into the sensor. Due to lessened sensibility, a user easily understand easily the detection information and false-positive was decreased. And the active coordination of the threshold value makes the detection sensor adapt according to the system condition.

  • 식물 저장을 위한 저온 저장고의 수요가 증가함에 따라 지능화되고 효율적인 저장고 관리 시스템에 대한 요구 또한 증가하고 있다. 기존의 저장고 관리 시스템은 관리자의 경험에 의존적이거나 센서의 임계치에 따른 단순한 상황 판단만이 가능한 수준으로, 식품에 따른 정밀한 신선도 관리가 불가능하다. 그에 따라 식품의 신선도 관리, 저장고 관리의 효율성 향상을 위해 상황인지 기술 도입이 고려되고 있으며, 그 중 환경 정보(Context)에 대한 관계를 모델링하기 위한 적합한 온톨로지 기반 상황인지 기술이 가장 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 온톨로지를 이용하여 식품 저장고 운영에 필요한 상황인지 기능을 제공해줄 상황인지 미들웨어를 제안하며, 환경 정보 모델링 도구와 센서 및 저장고 운영 정보를 획득하는 방법, 이를 활용한 상황 추론을 수행할 온톨로지 매핑 방법을 제시하였고 이를 실질적으로 수행해 줄 상황인지 프로세스를 설계하고 구현하였다.

Car License-Plate Extraction using Color Information and Intensity Vector (색상 정보와 명암 벡터를 이용한 차량 번호판 추출)

  • 본 논문에서는 주차 단속의 자동화를 위해 입력된 차량 영상으로부터 번호판 영역의 복합 색상 정보와 명암 벡터를 이용하여 번호판 영역을 추출하는 알고리즘을 제안한다. 일반적으로 명암도 영상에서는 번호판 영역의 숫자나 문자와 배경간의 명암도 변화는 뚜렷하게 나타나고, 다른 영역에 비하여 명암벡터의 밀집도가 높다는 특징을 가지고 있다. 이러한 특징을 이용하여, 번호판 영상의 하측 라인부터 명암 벡터의 부호 변화가 임계치 이상으로 나타나고, 자가용 또는 영업용 번호판 색상이 일정 수준으로 검출되는 구간을 번호판 영역으로 검출하고 이를 기준으로 대략 박스를 설정한다. 정교한 번호판 영역은 수직 소벨 에지 영상의 프로젝션으로 추출한다. 제안한 알고리즘을 평가하기 위하여, 다양한 시간과 장소에서 촬영되고 차량 주변의 복잡한 배경이 충분히 포함된 총 100장의 주차 단속 영상을 사용하였다. 실험 결과, 명암벡터와 색상정보를 함께 사용한 제안한 방법 이 명암벡터만을 사용한 방법에 비해 약 10% 향상된 97%의 번호판 추출률을 보였으며, 차량 종류의 자동 구분도 가능하였다.

Optimizing Similarity Threshold and Coverage of CBR (사례기반추론의 유사 임계치 및 커버리지 최적화)

  • Since case-based reasoning(CBR) has many advantages, it has been used for supporting decision making in various areas including medical checkup, production planning, customer classification, and so on. However, there are several factors to be set by heuristics when designing effective CBR systems. Among these factors, this study addresses the issue of selecting appropriate neighbors in case retrieval step. As the criterion for selecting appropriate neighbors, conventional studies have used the preset number of neighbors to combine(i.e. k of k-nearest neighbor), or the relative portion of the maximum similarity. However, this study proposes to use the absolute similarity threshold varying from 0 to 1, as the criterion for selecting appropriate neighbors to combine. In this case, too small similarity threshold value may make the model rarely produce the solution. To avoid this, we propose to adopt the coverage, which implies the ratio of the cases in which solutions are produced over the total number of the training cases, and to set it as the constraint when optimizing the similarity threshold. To validate the usefulness of the proposed model, we applied it to a real-world target marketing case of an online shopping mall in Korea. As a result, we found that the proposed model might significantly improve the performance of CBR.

Development of High-Accuracy Image Centroiding Algorithm for CMOS-based Digital Sun Sensor (CMOS 기반의 디지털 태양센서를 위한 고정밀 이미지 중심 알고리즘의 개발)

  • The digital sun sensor calculates the incident sunlight angle using the sunlight image registered on a CMOS image sensor. In order to accomplish this, an exact center of the sunlight image has to be determined. Therefore, an accurate estimate of the centroid is the most important factor in digital sun sensor development. The most general method for determining the centroid is the thresholding method, and this method is also the simplest and easy to implement. Another centering algorithm often used is the image filtering method that utilizes image processing. The sun sensor accuracy using these methods, however, is quite susceptible to noise in the detected sunlight intensity. This is especially true in the thresholding method where the accuracy changes according to the threshold level. In this paper, a template method that uses the sunlight image model to determine the centroid of the sunlight image is suggested, and the performance has been compared and analyzed. The template method suggested, unlike the thresholding and image filtering method, has comparatively higher accuracy. In addition, it has the advantage of having consistent level of accuracy regardless of the noise level, which results in a higher reliability.

A Dynamic Clustering Mechanism Considering Energy Efficiency in the Wireless Sensor Network (무선 센서 네트워크에서 에너지 효율성을 고려한 동적 클러스터링 기법)

  • In the cluster mechanism of the wireless sensor network, the network lifetime is affected by how cluster heads are selected. One of the representative clustering mechanisms, the low-energy adaptive clustering hierarchy (LEACH), selects cluster heads periodically, resulting in high energy consumption in cluster reconstruction. On the other hand, the adaptive clustering algorithm via waiting timer (ACAWT) proposes a non-periodic re-clustering mechanism that reconstructs clusters if the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches a given threshold. In this paper, we propose a re-clustering mechanism that uses multiple remaining node energy levels and does re-clustering when the remaining energy level of a cluster head reaches one level lower. Also, in determining cluster heads, both of the number of neighbor nodes and the remaining energy level are considered so that cluster heads can be more evenly placed. From the simulations based on the Qualnet simulator, we validate that our proposed mechanism outperforms ACAWT in terms of the network lifetime.
