The purpose of this study is to provide PR campaign strategies for revitalization of reading culture that are pertinent to Korean situation through analyzing successful international PR campaign cases of advanced countries in reading. For analyzing successful international PR campaign cases for revitalizing reading culture, this study selected four international PR campaign cases from Europe, North America, South America, and Oceania. In addition, this study analyzed the goals and objectives, strategies and tactics, and strengths and weaknesses of the selected PR campaigns in order to draw a way for establishing effective PR campaign strategies for expanding social support about reading culture and diffusing reading culture. According to the findings of this study, the selected PR campaigns are maximizing PR effect by getting attentions of news media and public through using unique and ingenious ideas, and utilizing convenience for public to participate PR campaign easily as a main PR strategy. Furthermore, the selected PR campaigns are improving public's participation in the PR campaign by targeting readers who usually like reading as a main target audience, and maximizing public's participation in the PR campaign by using interesting elements that are attracting attentions from the public.

'문화읽기'는 실질적으로 효율있게 씌어진 책들을 필요로 한다. 각 장르의 전문가들의 이론적 추구나 분석적 해설을 통한 글은 자칫 개인적 감상에 더 혼란만 가져다준다. 문화읽기에 안내서를 잘못 선택하면 오히려 문화의 수용은 왜곡되고 물러나게 된다. 오늘의 문화읽기란 보통사람들을 위해 필요한 것이기 때문이다.

Reading and writing in the past make noble significance in 'narration', in other words, in 'the creation of narration', through the process of 'recording'; but in the modern times, it engenders controversies over narration and linearity. In other words, reading/writing in digital era, is devalued as the simple arrangement of test or the connection of vast information without narration nor linearity. However, the reading/writing through text and hypertext reading is not the phenomenon which should be criticized because of the lack of narration or linearity-not only the lack of narration and linearity -, a process of social and cultural transition; it should be revalued as a result. The change of reading and writing methods will inevitably accompany the layers, status, significance and value of the contents; thus it makes more sense, when the reading and writing methods in digital contents are approached as new pop culture phenomenon. This is the "The prose of everyday life", based on pop culture and "The society of Conversation", based on communication; proposed 'Digitelling' ; this is the reason why we should pay attention to the digital contents, created infinitely by the citizens of the world, as new mass-culture phenomenon.

2004년에 이어 2005년에는 '책 읽는 서울'사업으로 도서관을 중심으로한 '한 도서관 한 책 읽기 운동'을 추진하였다. 이를 위해 지난 7월 21일 '한 도서관 한 책 읽기 사업 지원' 신청 접수를 받아 그 중 16개관을 선정 500만원에서 100만원까지 사업비를 차등 지원한 바 있다. 그 중 가장 좋은 평가를 받았던 서울특별시립어린이도서관의 다채로운 행사 결과를 본 지에 소개한다.

In this paper, we analyzed to find out the effects of phonological awareness game using teacher assisted robot on 5-year-old children's reading ability and reading interest. A total of 30 5-year-old children were equally divided into two groups: the experimental group and the control group. The experimental group conducted a total of 16 game activities using an educational robot twice a week for three weeks, the control group conducted the same 16 game activities without the robot during the same period. The results are as follows. Firstly, the experimental group was better in reading ability than that of the control group, especially total scores, word meaning, omission, and replacement. Secondly, the experimental group showed more interest in reading than the control group. From these findings, it can be suggested that phonological awareness games using the educational robot lay foundation to developing and enhancing on 5-year-old children's reading abilities and interest in reading.

우리 협회는 2003년 행정자치부의 민간단체 공익활동 지원사업의 일환으로 자금을 지원 받아 서산시와 함께 '한 도시 한 책 읽기 운동' 시범사업을 전개했었다. 그 당시 서산시에서는 서산시립도서관을 중심으로 '서산시민 모두가 책 한 권을 함께 읽는다면'이라는 주제로 창작 동화 "마당을 나온 암탉"을 읽고 저자강연회, 원화전시회, 영화상영, 각 종 토론회를 개최하는 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 지역 독서 운동을 이끌었다. 서산시는 2004년 전년의 경험을 바탕으로 자체적으로 '한 도시 한 책 읽기 운동'을 전개하고 있는데, 모든 시민이 함께 읽을 책으로 창작 동화집 박기범의 "문제아"를 선정하였다. 그 이후 진행된 다양한 행사 중에는 현직 아나운서들이 직접 서산시내 학교를 방문하여 아이들에게 책을 읽어 주는 '낭독회'가 있었다. 사회 유명인사들의 도서관 문화 프로그램 참여의 좋은 계기가 될만한 이번 행사에 참가한 이익선, 정현경, 박시준 아나운서를 도서관문화편집팀이 만나보았다.
