Methods : Patients diagnosed with stroke were selected as subjects according to criteria to select the research targets. The additional video observation training besides OT and PT was carried out to 15 patients in an experimental group and sham therapy besides OT and PT was performed to 15 patients in a control group. Line-bisection test were conducted to compare the neglect before and after therapy intervention and FIM was conducted to compare the ability to perform the activities of daily living. Results : The result of this study that we found out that degree of neglect in an experimental group where video observation training was carried out improved neglect and the ability to perform activities of daily living. Conclusion : The video observation training the video observation training is expected to be useful in clinics.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of leisure-based occupational therapy on leisure satisfaction, activities of daily living, and rehabilitation motivation in elderly patients with chronic diseases. In the study, Subjects were assigned to either the control or experimental group. The experimental group consisted of 10 and the control group of 14 patients. The experimental group receive a Leisure-based occupational therapy intervention, and the control group receive a conventional occupational therapy intervention. Leisure satisfaction, activities of daily living, and rehabilitation motivation were measured to Canadian occupational performance measure(COPM), Korean Activities of Daily Living(K-ADL·K-IADL), and Patient Questionnaire of Rehabilitation Motivation(PAREMO). Evaluation scores were compared before and after intervention to determine whether or not there were differences over time. And we examined the correlation between the variables. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The leisure-based occupational therapy has a significant effect on leisure satisfaction and rehabilitation motivation(p<.01). 2) The conventional occupational therapy has a significant effect on activities of daily living(p<.01). 3) There was a significant correlation between ADL and IADL(p<.01). 4) There was a significant correlation between leisure satisfaction and Rehabilitation Motivation(p<.01). Implications for occupational therapy include that we must offer appropriate approach with considering the interests and value of patients to them. And proposing studies to demonstrate the efficacy of occupational therapy approaches.

  • This work has performed to find what activities of daily living are required for the intensive interests when inpatient elderly more than 3 months has been supported and convalescent care, where the inpatient elderly were judged by the inpatient assessment report in the time of December, 2013. According to the estimation with logistic function of the relationship between the state of decision making recognition technology and the Activities of Daily Living(ADL), the intensive cares for the elderly are required in the parameters of 'Having meal' and 'transferring sitting' when they are severed and convalescently cared as the degree of functional independence for ADL are severly proceeded. In addition, the senescence and disease the activities except 'Having meal' and 'transferring sitting' seem to be influenced by the decline of body function more than the state of decision making recognition technology for daily living.

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to assess affects of pilates exercise program on balance ability and ADL performance ability of patient with chronic cerebellum infarction. Methods : The object of this study K-hospital located in daegu, 62-year-old woman who have receiving inpatient treatment with cerebellum infraction. Before and after the intervention in order to compare balance ability was assessed using berg balance scale(BBS) and ADL performance ability was assessed by modified barthel index(MBI). Results : Balance ability of the object score improved from 19 to 29, the ADL performance ability score increased from 74 to 87. Conclusion : The result of this study pilates exercise program in patients with chronic cerebellum infarction balance ability and ADL performance ability to promote was found that the effect. this pilates exercise program in the occupational therapy, if appropriately utilized more on the functional recovery of patients is expected to be helpful.

  • This study was a pre and post quasi-experimental design study using a single group about the analysis of the changes in the performance level of activities of daily living and depression of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment through the participation in the cognitive program. Study subjects were the 16 elderly with mild cognitive impairment using a W welfare center in J city and they participated in cognitive program for a total of 8 weeks, twice a week. The assessment about the performance level of activities of daily living and depression were performed through the program. As the results, after participating in the program, study subjects' performance level of activities of daily living were significantly significant improved, and depression levels were statistically significantly reduced. Thus, to improve the performance level of activities of daily living and reduce the depression levels of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment, the cognitive program should be used as a intervention program and then in the process, it is necessary to actively induce the participation of the elderly with mild cognitive impairment.

  • This study was conducted to identify the causal pathways of variables affecting life satisfaction in adolescents with disabilities to establish a basis for concrete intervention in their daily lives. This study was conducted on 239 adolescents with disabilities aged 9 to 24 years who responded to the survey on the actual conditions of people with disability in 2017. The SPSS macro process was used for analysis of the dual mediation effect. The results showed that there was a statistically significant correlation between instrumental daily life performance capacity, life satisfaction, Self-Rated Health, and participation in culture and leisure activities. It confirmed the mediating effects of Self-Rated Health and cultural leisure activities when the instrumental daily life performance capacity affected life satisfaction. This confirmed the dual mediating effect of instrumental daily life performance capacity on life satisfaction through causal pathways of Self-Rated Health and participation in cultural leisure activities. Based on the results of this study, it was possible to identify the focus of practical intervention through the identification of sequential pathways of Self-Rated Health and cultural and leisure activities on influence of instrumental daily life performance capacity and life satisfaction in adolescents with disabilities.

  • Objective : To investigate the correlation between relationship ability and ADL performance ability of patients with TBI. Methods : This study was carried out from March 2012 to April 2012 with 20 patients with TBI. Relationship ability assessed using Relationship Change Scale(RCS), ADL performance ability assessed using Functional Independence Measure(FIM). Results : The RCS showed a high level of correlation with marital status and duration of illness. The RCS showed a high level of correlation with the FIM total score and the FIM cognition area. However the RCS did not show a correlation with the FIM motor area. Conclusions : Functional disability of social cognition is a factor that disturbs rehabilitation after TBI and it has a negative influence on the relationship in ADL. If accurate evaluation and treatment on relationship ability after TBI are carried out side by side from the initial stages of onset, we could expect more patients to improve their social cognition and ADL performance ability.
