Ubiquitous computing technology is widely used in not only our everyday lives but also in education, medical care, military, environment and administration. RFID system, the basis of ubiquitous, is in the spotlight which can be an alternative solution of a bar code recognition system and magnetic system as they basically have practicality and security issues. An electronic authentication named smart-key system is recently concerned by an alternative solution of the security unit for an automobile. RFID system which has a general purpose is also in the limelight by an application technology. In this paper we designed vehicle smart key system with general-propose RFID system that is already in use. First, we designed control unit and RFID card reader for vehicle smart key system. Then we propose an algorithm and prove that the vehicle key system is controllable by showing the result of implementing and testing, after installing. Also security level is enlarged by proposing a authentication protocol between RFID reader and control unit.
The purpose of this study is to figure out problems and to suggest improvement scheme by examining 31 of the disabled who used power wheelchair developed for safe moving and standing support. The results are as follows. First, standing power wheelchair that enables the disabled to sit and stand up was developed. It can also be used as means of transportation for moving in narrow space and in a short distance. In the usability test of this prototype, two groups were respectively examined in 60 evaluation items. One group consisted of 16 people with disabilities using manual wheelchairs. And the other one consisted of 15 people with disabilities using automatic wheelchairs. The entire average figure of two groups was shown to be 2.72 and standard deviation was 0.820. Specifically, the average figure of the group in manual wheelchair was 2.85 and the one of the other group in automatic wheelchair was 2.57. And both group replied that the move to stand up and sit on both types of wheelchair was the most inconvenient thing. It shows why ergonomic design for persons with under extremity disabilities to stand up and sit is needed. Second, with further study based on the results of usability test of the disabled, it will make contribution to increase the quality of people with disabilities by helping them move and do daily lives on their own.
The conservative treatment for impingement and rotator cuff tear includes rest, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), local steroid injection and physiotherapy depending on the purpose to relieve the pain and inflammation, in addition, stretching exercise to recover flexibility and strengthening exercise to recover the function could be used. When these conservative treatments are divided into multiple steps, the first one contains pain relief, modification of daily activity and stretching exercise. Second step includes strengthening exercise of the anterior/posterior cuff and peri-scapular muscles and eventually. The third step includes training program to return to job, housework and hobby activities and maintain. Thus, the key of these step wise approach for the treatment of impingement and rotator cuff tear is exercise program. Understanding of various exercise program and apply to the patients properly is most important for the conservative treatment of impingement and cuff tear.

In this paper, a minimum rotation radius was designed and fabricated to overcome the threshold so that elderly or disabled people who have difficulty moving can move and transfer safely and conveniently in a narrow room. In the indoor environment, where the sedentary culture develops, this study aimed to provide convenience for passengers with fracture diseases, geriatric diseases, and other knee and waist diseases. First, links, seats, armrests, covers, motors, batteries, chargers, controllers, etc. were attached to the frame so that they could be moved and lifted indoors. The product design and structure were designed considering the user's environment and physical characteristics, and IoT functions were added. A driving experiment was performed to confirm the operating performance of the manufactured indoor moving and lifting wheelchair. The performance tests, such as continuous running time, turning radius, maximum actuator load, maximum lift height, sound pressure level, minimum sensing distance of the driving aid sensor, interworking of server and app programs, device compatibility, and duty cycle error rate, were performed. As a result of the test, the built-in wheelchair could achieve the performance test target of each item and operate successfully.

Three-dimensional(3-D) body scanners used to capture anthropometric measurements are now becoming a common research tool far apparel. This study had two goals, to test the accuracy and reliability of 3-D measurements of dynamic postures, and !o analyze the change in upper body surface measurements between the standard anthropometric position and various dynamic positions. A comparison of body surface measurements using two different measuring methods, 3-D scan measurements using virtual tools on the computer screen and traditional manual measurements for a standard anthropometric posture and for a posture with shoulder flexion were $-2\~20mm$. Girth items showed some disagreement of values between the two methods. None of the measurements were significantly different except f3r the neckbase girth for any of the measuring methods or postures. Scan measurements of the upper body items showed significant linear surface change in the dynamic postures. Shoulder length, interscye front and back, and biacromion length were the items most affected in the dynamic postures. Changes of linear body surface were very similar for the two measuring methods within the same posture. The repeatability of data taken from the 3-D scans using virtual tools showed satisfactory results. Three times repeated scan measurements f3r the scapula protraction and scapula elevation posture were proven to be statistically the same for all measurement items. Measurements from automatic measuring software that measured the 3-D scan with no manual intervention were compared with the measurements using virtual tools. Many measurements from the automatic program were larger and showed quite different values.

Movements of the lower limb are important for normal walking and smooth oscillation of the center of gravity. The ankle rotations such as dorsi-flexion, plantar-flexion, inversion and eversion allows the foot to accommodate to ground during level ground walking. Current below knee (B/K) prostheses are used for replacing amputated ankle, and make it possible for amputees to walk again. However, most of amputees with B/K prostheses often experience a loss of terrain adaptability as well as stability because of limited ankle rotation. This study is focused on the development of multi-rotational prosthetic foot for lower limb amputee. Our prosthesis is possible for amputees to easily walk in level ground by rotating ankle joint in sagittal plane and adapt to the abnormal terrain with ankle rotation in coronal plane. The resistance of ankle joint in the direction of dorsi/plantar-flexion can be manually regulated by hydraulic damper with controllable nozzle. Furthermore, double layered rubber induce the prosthesis adapt to irregular ground by tilting itself in direction of eversion and inversion. The experimental results highlights the potential that our prosthesis induce a normal gait for below knee amputee.

Objective : The study is to suggest basic data for the expansion and the necessity of the occupational therapy at the day care center for infants with disabilities through investigating actual use and satisfaction of parents who use the day care center for infants with disabilities in Daegu Kyonbuk area. Methods : From May 15 to 29, 2009, 105 parents using the day care center for infants with disabilities were surveyed. Results : Terms of age group, parents using the day care center for infants with disabilities are mostly 30s and 40s. In terms of academic background, there were 58% of secondary school graduates and 38.9% of college graduates. Parents with experiencing 3 years of the occupational theory had 37.1%, which held the largest group. 75% of the objects agreed that infants with disabilities received enough occupational therapy, while they pointed out that the financial burden for therapy would be the major factor in the therapy. Conclusion : In order to provide a qualified occupational therapy in accordance with each individual's purpose at the day care center for infants with disabilities, it would be necessary to expand occupational therapy, to increase the demand for the occupational therapy from parents, and to secure enough number of therapists and financial support from the government and municipalities.
The purpose of the study is to investigate kinds of social support provided by various types of family members, relationships between types of family support and personal variables of the elderly and structural variables of the family network, and the relationships between family support and depression of the elderly. Here, family included a spouse, sons and daughters and their spouses, grandchildren, siblings and parents of an older person. Social support consisted of emotional, instrumental, financial help and social companionship. Two-hundred-eight older persons of age 60 years and over were interviewed. The main results of the study were as follows: an older person's spouse tended to provide more for emotional support, sons for financial help, daughters-in-law for instrumental support, and daughters for emotional and financial support. Some elderly were also provided for emotional support by parents and siblings. Possibility of daughters-in-laws and grandchildren as support providers was also verified. Various factors among personal and network-structural characteristics were significantly related to many types of social support provided by various types of family members. In general, while younger female elders, elders with good IADL ability or more frequent contacts with family members tended to have social support from more family members, support from daughters-in-law was provided to the elderly with less functional abilities. Various types of social support from a spouse were significantly related to depression level of the elderly. Their depression level was more related to whether or not sons and daughters-in-law exist rather than whether or not they provide social support. Practical methods to increase family support for the elderly were discussed.
Humans develop and maintain relationship through communication. Communication is largely divided into verbal communication and non-verbal communication. Verbal communication involves the use of a language or characters, while non-verbal communication utilizes body language. We use gestures with language together in conversations of everyday life. Gestures belong to non-verbal communication, and can be offered using a variety of shapes and movements to deliver an opinion. For this reason, gestures are spotlighted as a means of implementing an NUI/NUX in the fields of HCI and HRI. In this paper, using Kinect and the geometric features of the hand, we propose a method for recognizing the number of fingers and detecting the hand area. A Kinect depth image can be used to detect the hand region, with the finger number identified by comparing the distance of outline and the central point of a hand. Average recognition rate for recognizing the number of fingers is 98.5%, from the proposed method, The proposed method would help enhancing the functionality of the human computer interaction by increasing the expression range of gestures.
This study was conducted to examine the influence and effect of muscle enforcement program on Activity of daily living(ADL) improvement and posture balance of the old, and to provide more effective muscle enforcement program and educational data. The muscle enforcement exercise program was performed on the old(institution, 16 men, 10 women) for 8 weeks from April 22, 2002 through June 17,2002. Programed Exercise 1 - Exercise 10 were practised 8 times per program for 3 days a week. The load of exercise was increased per two weeks. The methods of measurement were questionnaire, Indiana 47903(action-response analysis machine) and Sample exercise protocol for KAT 2000(balance training device). SAS/PC statistic analysis was used for data analysis. T-test was used for analysis of change before and after exercise in this study. The summary and conclusions are as follows. 1. On subjectively recognized health states, the healthy were $42.3\%$. On the satisfaction with health states, the satisfied were $50.0\%$. On the factors of effects on daily-life behavior performance, the group who had troubles was $50\%$ and the group who was so and so was $34.6\%$ compared with the old of the same age. On prospect about health states in the future, the group who would be better was $38.\%$. On effective methods for problem solving, exercise was $42.3\%.\;88.5\%$ of respondents answered the need of health care. The participation intention in health program was $92.3\%$. 2. On the change of psychological emotion and behavior aspects, the group who had repeated complaints or anxieties and reduced activities or interests was effective(P<0.01). 3. On the improvement effects of IADL difficulties, the group who had difficulties in doing daily-life indoors was improved effectively compared with before and after exercise(P<0.01). On medication management, the effects of improvement after exercise were high compared with before exercise(P<0.01), the effects of improvement was high on the whole. 4. On the effects of ADL function improvement, putting on upper clothing and lower clothing was improved effectively(P<0.05), toilet use and individual sanitation was improved effectively(P<0.05). 5. On the effects of action-response, the results of 8weeks regular exercise program were not different significantly compared with before and after exercise. The behavior quickness of the old by muscle enforcement program was not increased. This means that the old needs much time for exercise sense training because of the regression of cognition sense. 6. In the effect of posture balance, the whole grades were effective from 1272.69 before excercise to 476.92 after exercise(P<0.01). Especially right balance 657.65 was lowered to 208.57 after exercise most effectively(P<0.01). Rear balance 776.34 before exercise was lowered to 136.65 after exercise. The results of measurement were significant(P<0.05).
