An analysis of air apollution and daily mortality (대기중 총분진과 사망자수에 관한 분석)

  • Relationship between the daily mortality and total suspended particulate(TSP) for the period of 1996-1997 was examined in Seoul, Korea. Generalized additive model was adapted for the analysis to allow the seasonality and long-term time effect in the air pollution and the nonlinear relationships with weather variables such as air temperature and relative humidity. An increase of 100 Ji9/m') TSP corresponds to 0.8-5.2 percent increase of the daily mortality Unidirectional (prospective and retrospective) case-crossover design results in large bias of the estimates. Bidirectional method gives relatively unbiased estimates but the standard errors are larger Case-crossover design should be used with caution in the situation where the data have seasonal trends like air pollution study.

Long term trend for particular matters in Seoul (서울 지역에서 분진에 대한 장기 추세 연구)

  • Our study aimed to illustrate long term trend in 10 micrometer particular matters excluding confounding effect. Daily 10 micrometer particular matters data were measured in 27 places and meteorological data (maximum temperature, humidity and maximum wind speed, solar radiation) were obtained from the national institute of environmental research for the period from January, 1996 to December 2000. To estimate the increasing and decreasing long term trend in a set of observed data, set up the model. The model included regression spline smooth function on the time and meteorological factors to capture the seasonal time trend and any possible nonlinear relationship. The result was estimated to decrease slightly after adjusting for meteorological factors and seasonal time trend.

Prediction of movie audience numbers using hybrid model combining GLS and Bass models (GLS와 Bass 모형을 결합한 하이브리드 모형을 이용한 영화 관객 수 예측)

  • Domestic film industry sales are increasing every year. Theaters are the primary sales channels for movies and the number of audiences using the theater affects additional selling rights. Therefore, the number of audiences using the theater is an important factor directly linked to movie industry sales. In this paper we consider a hybrid model that combines a multiple linear regression model and the Bass model to predict the audience numbers for a specific day. By combining the two models, the predictive value of the regression analysis was corrected to that of the Bass model. In the analysis, three films with different release dates were used. All subset regression method is used to generate all possible combinations and 5-fold cross validation to estimate the model 5 times. In this case, the predicted value is obtained from the model with the smallest root mean square error and then combined with the predicted value of the Bass model to obtain the final predicted value. With the existence of past data, it was confirmed that the weight of the Bass model increases and the compensation is added to the predicted value.

Detecting Space-Time Clusters in Linear Point Data (선형 점자료에 있어서의 시.공 복합 군집의 탐색)

  • 본 연구에서는 시.공 복합적인 선형 점 자료를 대상으로 시간과 공간을 함께 고려했을 때 자료 내에 군집(cluster)-시.공 복합 군집(space-time cluster)-이 존재하는 가를 검증하는 방법에 대해 논의하고, 실제 교통사고지점의 분포자료를 분석하여 군집의 유무를 통계적으로 검증하였다. 통계 분석의 결과 다음과 같은 사실이 확인되었다. 첫째, Knox의 분할표 방법과 Mantel의 역수 변환을 이용한 일반화된 회귀분석방법 모두 임계 거리 및 임계 시간 간격의 선택이 분석결과에 영향을 미친다. 둘째, 이러한 임의성을 극복하기 위해 다양한 임계 거리 및 임계 시간 간격(혹은 부가 상수)에 대해 반복 실험한 결과, 일부 임계값의 조합에서 시간과 공간이 서로 독립적이라는 귀무가설을 기각할 수 있는 증거가 발견되었다. 셋째, 시.공 복합 군집의 파악에 가장 적합한 임계 거리와 임계 시간 간격은 공간적으로는 7000m, 시간적으로는 14일 혹은 21일이다. 마지막으로, 통계 분석과정에서 자료에 존재하는 중복 기록 사고들의 존재가 밝혀짐으로써 시.공 복합군집 검증이 탐험적 자료 분석(exploratory data analysis)의 도구로서 가지는 가치를 확인할 수 있었다.

소유권구조(所有權構造) 자본조달정책(資本調達政策) 및 배당정책(配當政策)의 상호관련성(相互關聯性)에 관한 연구(硏究)

  • 본 연구는 대리이론과 정보비대칭이론 그리고 패킹오더가설등을 기초로 재무정책의 결정요인과 상호의존관계를 규명하는데 그 목적을 두고 있다. 분석자료가 횡단면적 특성과 시계열적 특성을 동시에 갖고 있는 패널자료인 점을 감안하여 일반적인 OLS에 의한 회귀분석 대신에 동시적인 복합오차 모형과 일반화 최소자승법에 의한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 자본조달정책 분석으로부터 배당비율과 내부자지분율이 재무레버리지에 각각 음(-) 및 양(+)의 영향을 주고 있음을 알 수 있었다.이외에도 경영위험, 수익성, 성장기회는 재무레버리지와 음(-)의 관계이며, 주식분산성과는 재무레버리지와 제한적으로 음(-)의 관계에 있었다. 그리고 기업규모와 경제적 부가가치는 재무레버리지와 양(+)의 영향을 주고 있음도 확인할 수 있었다. 배당정책 분석으로부터 재무레버리지는 대체로 그리고 내부자지분을은 제한적으로만 배당비율에 음(-)의 영향을 주고 있음을 확인하였다. 이외에도 경영위험과 수익성은 일관되게 배당비율과 양(+)의 관계를 갖고 있었다. 기업규모, 경제적 부가가치는 배당비율과 대체로 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인하였다. 성장기회는 제한적으로만 배당비율과 음(-)의 관계를 유지하고 있었다. 소유권구조 분석으로부터 재무레버리지는 내부자지분율에 대체로 양(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인하였다. 이외에도 기업규모, 경제적 부가가치 및 성장기회는 내부자지분율에 일관되게 음(-)의 관계를 갖고 있었다. 주식분산성과는 내부자지분율에 대체로 양(+)의 영향을 주고 있었다. 재무정책간의 상호의존성을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 내부자지분율과 배당비율은 재무레버리지에 각각 양(+)과 음(-)의 상호영향을 주고 있었으며, 내부자지분율은 배당비율에 제한적으로만 음(-)의 영향을 미치고 있다는 미약한 결과를 얻었다. 그러나 배당비율이 내부자지분율에 영향을 미친다는 증거는 확인할 수 없었다.

A Study on the Formulation of Uniform Title for Sound Recordings of Korean Traditional Music (한국 전통음악 녹음자료의 통일표제 기술에 관한 연구)

  • This study is to present a draft for the formulation of uniform title for sound recordings of the Korean traditional music. The draft as the results of this study is summarized as follows: In a musical work of a type of non-composition, the popular name is put into square brackets as a uniform title of court music and folk music in the old Korean traditional music, and the composer's original title is put into square brackets as a uniform title of the new Korean traditional music, but the medium of performance and others are omitted except an identifying element. However, for the formulation of uniform title of a type of composition in an instrumental music, the descriptive form consisted of the order of 'name of one type of composition, medium of performance, serial number, opus number, key, and a descriptive word or phrase' is put into square brackets as a uniform title and the identifying elements. And in the vocal music of the old Korean traditional music, the following medium of performance is used: in vocal choruses, a type of voices; in solo voices, a type of solo voice by sex, but one of the new Korean traditional music follows the descriptive form of the western classical music.

Impact of Weather on Prevalence of Febrile Seizures in Children (소아의 열성경련에 날씨가 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: Febrile seizure (FS) is the most common type of seizure in children between 6 months to 5 years of age. A family history of febrile seizures can increase the risk a child will have a FS. Yet, prevalence of FS regarding external environment has not been clearly proved. This study attempts to determine the association between prevalence of FS and weather. Methods: This study included medical records from the Korea National Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service. Data were collected from 29,240 children, born after 2004, diagnosed with FS who were admitted to one of the hospitals in Seoul, Korea, between January 2009 and December 2013. During the corresponding time period, data from the Korea Meteorological Administration on daily monitoring of four meteorological factors (sea-level pressure, amount of precipitation, humidity and temperature) were collected. The relationships of FS prevalence and each meteorological factor will be designed using Poisson generalized additive model (GAM). Also, the contributory effect of viral infections on FS prevalence and weather will be discussed. Results: The amount of precipitation was divided into two groups for comparison: one with less than 5 mm and the other with equal to or more than 5 mm. As a result of Poisson GAM, higher prevalence of FS showed a correlation with smaller amount of precipitation. Smoothing function was used to classify the relationships between three variables (sea-level pressure, humidity, and temperature) and prevalence of FS. FS prevalence was correlated with lower sea-level pressure and lower humidity. FS prevalence was high in two temperature ranges (-7 to $-1^{\circ}C$ and $18-21^{\circ}C$). Conclusion: Low sea-level pressure, small amount of precipitation, and low relative air humidity may increase FS prevalence risk.
