  • Directors of small-scale printing are not easy to use an image editor which is similar to Adobe photoshop and illustrator. According to above reasons, although the design was simple but agency doesn't have the ability, so it became a vicious cycle. To remove this, in this paper, we show possibility of making web based printing and converting data, that can make HTML to image, and reconvert to PDF. In addition, the technology using web service provides additional-services. Moreover, it is benefitional to directors who require add features quickly by using this web based POD system, where we can make name cards or stickers, and so on and can provide templates which doesn't need a complex work, and gives us a minimum effort.

  • e-Learning contents are composed of compounding multimedia data. It requires many professionals in contents development stage. The process of e-learning contents development can be seen as a collaborative work. In the perspective of a collaborative work process, the whole process of e-learning contents development would be regarded as collaborative work process for each participant as well as for whole group members. Most of collaborative works in contents development field are widely distributed. Members of work groups require workspaces for sharing information and communicating each other. In addition to workspaces, it also needs to support collaborative reflection such as planning for collaborative work and monitoring for work process. This paper is intended to develop the reflective collaborative work system for e-Learning contents development in order to support the systemic process of e-learning contents development. The reflective collaborative work system is composed of four supportive parts: work flow management, personal workspace, collaborative workspace, and collaborative reflection.

  • Before the digital age, the main tools used for printing out letters were pen and brush. Therefore, forms and styles of the languages modelled out during the age also revolved around the pen and brush. However, new tools and techniques introduced in the digital age to express typography put this limit in the shade. In other words, the user can make expressive and experimental typography and typefaces quickly and easily, by learning and utilizing new tools efficiently. As such, this study is to explore those cases, to understand characters and meanings of expressive and experimental typography within the context of typography history, to introduce a new tool, 'Scriptographer' developed by means of the open-source scripting plug-in for Adobe Illustrator, and to discuss the advantages, disadvantages and applicability of this tool. Further on, through case analysis of successful preceding projects, the researcher arranges a practical foundation, and estimates the practicality of this research through experimental typography series, Rush Type and Celestial Type, created by using Scriptographer.

  • Traditional culture could be a wonderful source of inspiration for creative design. Tteoksal, the stamps used for making decorative patterns on traditional rice-cakes, have been used and passed on to generations to show the emotions of our ancestors. Numerous traditional patterns found in Tteoksal can be used to better understand and transmit tradition in modern ways. The purpose of this study was to develop fashion cultural products with a modern sensibility by understanding the origin, types and characteristics of Tteoksal and its patterns. The method of this study was through considering the proceeding studies and the references published by a specialist and museums having some information about further knowledge on Tteoksal. In line with the aforementioned study, neckties, eco-friendly bags and pouches were developed as fashion goods. Among the Tteoksal's patterns selected were lotus, bats, 樂 letters and complex patterns. Using a computer graphic software program such as Adobe Illustrator CS5, archetypes of patterns were traced as vector graphics, and two design motives were developed in every pattern. The patterns were developed into two types: one was a basic pattern faithful to a basic motive pattern, and the other was a varied type that was changed and applied. The fashion products were developed as two styles for basic and varied patterns for neckties, eco-friendly bags and pouch items. Twelve products were made for each pattern, which totals 48 unique products. In conclusion, the study could be a critical step to better understand the traditional culture and its influence to the patterns applied to modern fashion design.

  • In creating an illustration, rather than depend on the subjective expression of the illustrator, one should consider the characteristics of child cognitive development. Illustrations should be those which can arouse child's interesting and which can be educational. To do this, first, characteristic expressions shown in children's pictures can be used to arouse child's interesting. In creating an illustration, one should consider sufficiently "intuitive form" and "representative form" in order to appeal to curiosity of child. Second, illustrations should be able to be helpful to the development of child's intellect, emotion and imagination. • The purpose of this study is to suggest effective online pedagogical strategies for a fashion design CAD course to enhance student learning and satisfaction. The study investigated student experience of online learning and compared online learning with a face-to-face learning experience. Student concentration, participation, perceptions of effectiveness of teaching, utilization of learning materials, and satisfaction were analyzed using a 5-point Likert scale. Advantages and disadvantages of online learning as well as advantages of face-to-face learning were also analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Student concentration, participation, and perception of effectiveness of teaching were greater for face-to-face learning with significantly higher concentration on individual practice. Students utilized video recording of synchronous online lectures more actively than PDF lecture notes. The advantages of face-to-face learning were plentiful communication and feedback and easy questioning process as well as high levels of understanding and concentration. Meanwhile, major disadvantages of online learning were the speed of the lecture, lower levels of understanding and concentration, limited peer interaction, and technical problems. Major advantages of online learning were flexibility and convenience, repetitive learning through videos, and instant communication and feedback. Students preferred a blended learning approach for the fashion design CAD course. For effective online learning, it is suggested that instructors frequently question and check student practice through screen share in a private online meeting room and engage activities that are demanding of student interaction. The video recording of synchronous online lectures is also suggested as a supplemental learning material for repetitive learning.
