Analysis of Signal Integrity of High Speed Serial Interface for Ultra High Definition Video Pattern Control Signal Generator (UHD급 영상패턴 제어 신호발생기를 위한 고속 시리얼 인터페이스의 신호 무결성 분석)

  • In accordance with 4K UHD(Ultra High Definition) LCD television's higher resolution and data expansion, LCD TV had to face problems such as increasing numbers of cables and tangible skews problems among cables. The V-by-One HS is a new interface technology in the path between the image processing IC and timing control (TCON) board. The variable speed from 600 Mbps to 3.75 Gbps effectively meets the requirements of various different pixel rates. In this paper, we use the V-by-One HS interface to illustrate our proposed simulation method of frequency resonance mode and PCB design approach to model the effects of signal integrity for high speed video signal using an IBIS models.

  • This paper proposes a SOC platform which is eligible for education and application SOC design. The platform, fully synthesizable and reconfigurable, includes the OpenRISC embedded processor, some basic peripherals such as GPIO, UART, debug interlace, VGA controller and WISHBONE interconnect. The platform uses a set of development environment such as compiler, assembler, debugger and RTOS that is built for HW/SW system debugging and software development. Designed SOC, IPs and Testbenches are described in the Verilog HDL and verified using commercial logic simulator, GNU SW development tool kits and the FPGA. Finally, a multimedia SOC derived from the SOC platform is implemented to ASIC using the Magnachip cell library based on 0.18um 1-poly 6-metal technology.

Corrosion mitigation of photovoltaic ribbon using a sacrificial anode (희생양극을 이용한 태양광 리본의 부식 저감)

  • Degradation is commonly observed in field-aged PV modules due to corrosion of the photovoltaic ribbon. The reduced performance is caused by a loss of fill factor due to the high series resistance in the PV ribbon. This study aimed to mitigate the degradation by corrosion using five sacrificial anodes - Al, Zn and their alloys - to identify the most effective material to mitigate the corrosion of the PV ribbon. The corrosion behavior of the five sacrificial anode materials were examined by open circuit potential measurements, potentiodynamic polarization tests, and galvanic current density and potential measurements using a zero resistance ammeter. Immersion tests for 120 hours were also conducted using materials and damp heat test tests were performed for 1500 hours using 4 cell mini modules. The Al-3Mg and Al-3Zn-1Mg sacrificial anodes had a low corrosion rate and reduced drop in power, making then suitable for long-term use.

  • Although PV module manufacturing and its structure are simple, the semi-permanent products can be used out doors for more than twenty years. Therefore it is need to choose proper materials and optimize manufacturing process. This paper suggest that factors of degradation need to be studied to achieve a more understanding of PV module Degradation rates and material failure. Nowadays durability of the PV Module is very important to sustain output safety for obtaining reliability. This paper is about the experiment that soldering uniformity of soldering process and to make least void from soldering process. From This study soldering flux residue and soldering method is main factor to form void blocked soldering uniformity and by using this.

  • SOFC용 밀봉유리$({\sim}10.0{\times}10^{-7}/K)$의 열팽창 계수를 SUS430$({\sim}12.0{\times}10^{-7}/K)$ 인터커넥터에 매칭 시키기 위하여 모유리에 비하여 열팽창계수가 큰 $CaTiO_3\;({\sim}13.5{\times}10^{-7}/K)$ 입자를 필러로서 첨가하였다. 필러입자의 첨가량이 증가함에 따라 밀봉재의 열팽창 계수가 증가하고, 동일 함량의 필러를 첨가하는 경우 필러 입자의 크기가 작을 수록 밀봉재의 연화점 상승 폭이 커서 SUS430 기판과의 접합 상태가 불량해짐을 관찰하였다. 필 테스트, 접합시험, 미세구조 분석 등을 통하여 필러 입자 크기가 증가 할 수록 SUS430과의 접합이 가능한 범위 내에서 보다 많은 양의 필러를 첨가하는 것이 가능하기 때문에 열팽창 계수 제어가 용이하다는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다.

  • Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have many attractive features for widespread applications in generation systems. Recently, stainless steels have attractive materials for metallic bipolar plate because metallic bipolar plates have many benefits compared to others such as graphite and composite bipolar plates. SOFC operates on high temperature of about $800{\sim}1000^{\circ}C$ than other fuel cell systems. Thus, many studies have attempted to reduced the operation temperature of SOFC to about $600{\sim}800^{\circ}C$, which is the intermediate temperature (IT) of SOFC. Low cost and high-temperature corrosion resistance are very important for the practical applications of SOFC in various industries. In this study, two specimens, 304 and 430 stainless steels with and without different pre-surface treatments on the surface were investigated. And, specimens were exposed at high temperature in the box furnace under oxidation atmosphere of $800^{\circ}C$. Oxidation behavior have been investigated with the materials exposed at different times (100 hrs and 400 hrs) by SEM, EDS and XRD. By increasing exposure time, the amount of metal oxide increased in the order like; STS304 < STS430 and As-received < As-polished < Sand-blast specimens.

  • This paper addresses the simulation methodology of signal integrity and power integrity for mobile display modules. The proposed technique can be applied to analyse a circuit module which consist of connector, FPCB and driver ICs. The recent demand of serial interconnection technology in the mobile display industry needs delicate impedance control of signal and power traces to prohibit system malfunctioning and to reduce electromagnetic field radiation. Based on the S-parameter and Z-parameter analysis, we analyse the correlation between frequency-domain and time-domain measurements. With multi-port macros, signal integrity can be included in power integrity analysis in time domain.

Usability Evaluation and Development of Design Prototyping for MP3 Smart Clothing Product (MP3 스마트웨어 제품 상용화를 위한 디자인 프로토타입 개발 및 사용성 평가 연구)

  • This study focused on developing MP3 smart clothing products and usability evaluation. MP3 smart clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. The kit consists of MP3 Player, remote controller module and ear phone, and are easy to assemble and dismantle. And usability evaluation about MP3 smart Clothing which was developed in this study contains e-textile keypad and a kit. For making the MP3 Smart clothing, e-textile signal line and keypad was developed and a metal connection ring also was manufactured to adhere closely e-textile signal line to keypad. The last products are two kinds of MP3 smart clothing, jacket style of MP3-YSJ(Yonsei Smart Jacket) and safari style of MP3-YSS(Yonsei Smart Safari). Then usability evaluation conducted two times about MP3 smart clothing developed. Usability evaluation is classified by a module evaluation and an item evaluation. The module evaluation measured external appearance, material, a music controller, an ear phone(or a mini speaker) and connector. The item evaluation measured social acceptance, feeling of wearing, utility, easiness of maintenance and safety. The module evaluation described totally positive results in the first usability evaluation about MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The item evaluation shows a lower score in the social acceptance, especially the easiness of connector maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 1.0 and MP3-YSS 1.0. The second usability evaluation conducted with improved products by the first usability test results. Results from second item evaluation indicated needs to improve the easiness of connector & music-controller maintenance and the social acceptance of music-controller in MP3-YSJ 2.0. In MP3-YSS 2.0, the easiness of material management and the social acceptance of music controller & connector needed to improvement. In particular, users felt inconvenience in the social acceptance because of e-textile keypad arrangement. To outweigh this disadvantage, further study is needed about keypad interface of the music controller.

  • The Test Equipment for the upper stage of KSLV-I has following functions via umbilical cable interface; external power supply, command output such as discrete and analog, data acquisition, CS-I interface simulation for first stage of KSLV-I and RS-422 serial communication for PDU. The main purpose of UTE is the experiment or function verification of system-level upper stage. To realize this system, we used PXI control system. The UTE is consisted of the PXI control system, power supply, terminal block, internal harness, connector panel and so on. The software functions of UTE are classified by four blocks. These are Discrete/Analog I/O control, PDU RS-422 serial communication control, power supply GPIB control and UTE remote control. In this paper, we will describe the design on the hardware and software of UTE.

  • HADAX is a serial communication converter of train control computer. It is connected with various signal equipments such as wayside signal equipments, station signal equipments, train control computers, and transmits control information and signal condition information for train control. And transmits information to several electronic interlocking devices through a splitter interface. Since HADAX interfaces with many signaling devices through serial communication, frequent communication connection faults necessitate improvement of performance such as dual system configuration, integration of external splitter, and multi-channelization of communication card. The improved HADAX device should have compatibility with the dimensions of existing enclosure and enclosure, and verify the performance of dual system and splitter integration. Therefore, we verified the performance of HADAX through the route control test, dual system test, and multi-channel communication test with splitter integrated connection by connecting with the existing signal equipment.
