Survey on Data Consolidation Issue in the Internet and Corresponding Research (인터넷 데이터 집중화 문제와 대응연구 동향)

  • The Internet is evolving into a fundamental social infrastructure, similar to electricity and water. In particular, the role of the Internet is becoming more critical as the global digital transformation infrastructure of the 4th industrial revolution. Based on this trend, we note that the Internet is monopolized by a few large organizations even though it was originally designed as a purely distributed system. In this paper, we have reviewed the domination trends, especially in terms of data consolidation. In addition, we have summarized the corresponding research activities from the Internet Society, EU Horizon-2020, and Decentralized web. Further, this paper proposes an approach to address the data consolidation issue from the Korean perspective.

  • 네트워크 기술의 급속한 발달로 인해 최근 무선 Ad-hoc 통신망에 관한 연구가 활발하게 진행되어 오고 있다. Ad-hoc망은 기존의 유선망에서와는 다르게 중앙 집중화된 관리를 필요로 하지 않고 지리적으로 분산된 각 노드들이 역동적으로 위치를 변경하며 라우터의 역할을 수행하여 단대단 정보전송 서비스를 제공한다. 그러나 제한된 통신 자원으로 인한 낮은 대역폭과 높은 전송 오류를 포함하고 있으며, 한정된 대역과 단말기능에 있어서의 제약으로 현재의 인터넷 라우팅 프로토콜들을 그대로 사용하기 어렵다. 현재 사용되고 있는Ad-hoc 네트워크에서의 라우팅 프로토콜은 네트워크 토폴로지가 변화해야만 새로운 경로를설정하도록 되어 있어 이동성이 낮은 환경에서의 트래픽 집중화 현상과 경로 설정을 위한 반복적 검색으로 서비스 효율이 떨어지는 문제점을 가지고 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 다중 이웃 노드 테이블을 별도 관리하고 혼잡 상황시 자노드 중계 차단을 수행하여 효율적으로 부하균등을 제어하는 라우팅 기법을 제시한다.

Digital Divide and the Change of Spatial Structure by the Increasing Diffusion of the Internet (인터넷의 확산에 따른 디지털 격차와 공간구조의 변화)

  • The rapid innovation of information and communication technology and its sharp falling prices have brought about the expansion of the Internet, integrating the world as one space under converged space and time. This rapid expansion of the Internet and its application in the economy have spurred the emergence of the digital economy. The Internet has influenced strongly on the changes of not only economic activities but also political, social and cultural activities. In this context, a rapidly increasing Internet expansion renders the rhetoric about the death of distance and about the meaningless of geographical place. However, the development and expansion of Internet induces a growing digital divide among nations and also a spatial inequality in a nation as the supply of the Internet has concentrated towards demand-affluent large cities. A large gap of digital access has been occurred between high income and low income countries according to a measurement of the international digital access index. In a national level, the Internet backbone has been built around large cities which favor a large amount of the Internet demand, and the affordable accessibility of these cities for the Internet services has influenced strongly on the agglomeration of Internet related industries, further inducing the construction and investment of the Internet backbone into large cities as cumulative causation effects. As a result, the expansion of the Internet affects immensely on the changes of spatial structure in a nation resulting in the new spatial phenomena such as centralization, concentration and splintering in the digitalized space-economy.

Research on Management Strategies for Intellectual Property Activities to Improve Corporate Performance (기업의 성과 제고를 위한 지식재산활동의 경영전략 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a rational management strategy to improve the management performance of companies through intellectual property activities. Through this study, we aim to explore countermeasures to strengthen competitiveness in a changing global environment. A survey of 200 companies was conducted from September 1 to October 30, 2023. Statistical analysis was conducted using frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and difference analysis. The conclusions are as follows. First, the impact of intellectual property activities on management performance was found to be creation and utilization. Second, the impact of management strategies on management performance was found to be differentiation strategy, cost advantage strategy, and concentration strategy. Third, cost advantage strategy has a partial mediation effect on the relationship between creation activities and managerial performance of intellectual property activities. Fourth, the differentiation strategy has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between the creation of intellectual property activities and managerial performance. In addition, differentiation strategy has a full mediating effect on the relationship between the utilization of intellectual property activities and performance. Fifth, concentration strategy has a partial mediating effect on the relationship between intellectual property activity utilization and management performance. Sixth, there is a difference between creation activities, protection activities, utilization activities, cost advantage strategy, differentiation strategy, financial performance, and non-financial performance based on venture certification status. As the importance of intellectual property is increasing in the era of technological hegemony, IoT companies will need to improve their management performance through venture certification and strategies utilizing intellectual property in order to secure future competitiveness. Based on this study, we hope that IoT companies will maximize their performance by implementing efficient strategies that consider IP activities.

Spatial Analysis of the Internet Industry in Korea (인터넷 산업의 공간 분석에 관한 연구)

  • Internet is the most important element in the emergence of the Internet economy, which derives the creation of new firms and employment, and brings about the new ways of marketing and business. The emergence of the Internet economy and the rapid growth of the Internet industry have a great deal to changes in the spatial economy. Korea has experienced a rapid growth of the Internet industries, but few geographical studies have been done to explain the impact of the development of the Internet industries on the spatial economy. This research explored how Korea has developed as a nation of the strong Internet economy in terms of driving forces by demand and supply side. This research tried to build a data set for the Internet industries with the introduction of a new classification scheme and a measurement. The most important finding from this research was the spatial concentration of the Internet industries toward Seoul at the national level and toward the Gangnam area within Seoul. The rise of Internet industries has added attractiveness to Seoul which enjoys a kind of cumulative and circular advantages.

  • There are several types of distributed subscribers network using Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Very high-bit rate Digital Subscriber Line (VDSL), and Data Over Cable Service Interface Specifications (DOCSIS), The efficient and concentrated network management of those several distributed subscribers networks and resources require the general information model of network, which has abstract and conceptional managed objects independent of type of network and its equipment to manage the integrated subscriber network, This paper presents the general Internet subscribers network modeling framework using RM-ODP (Reference Model Open Distributed Processing) to manage that network In the form of integrated hierarchy, This paper adopts the object-oriented development methodology with UML (Unified Modeling Language) and designs and implements the HFC network of DOCSIS as an example of the subscriber network.

A Blockchain-based User Authentication Model Using MetaMask (메타마스크와 연동한 블록체인 기반 사용자 인증모델)

  • This paper proposes a new authentication model to solve the problem of personal information takeover and personal information theft by service providers using centralized servers for user authentication and management of personal information. The centralization issue is resolved by providing user authentication and information storage space through a decentralize platform, blockchain, and ensuring confidentiality of information through user-specific symmetric key encryption. The proposed model was implemented using the public-blockchain Ethereum and the web-based wallet extension MetaMask, and users access the Ethereum main network through the MetaMask on their browser and store their encrypted personal information in the Smart Contract. In the future, users will provide their personal information to the service provider through their Ethereum Account for the use of the new service, which will provide user authentication and personal information without subscription or a new authentication process. Service providers can reduce the costs of storing personal information and separate authentication methods, and prevent problems caused by personal information leakage.

  • 일반 가정에 인터넷 서비스를 제공하는 가입자 망은 다양한 종류의 접속방식과 이기종의 장비를 이용하여 일반 가정 가입자에게 단일 형태의 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 그리고 가입자 망의 접속방식에는 망의 종류에 따라서 ADSL, VDSL, DOCSIS 등 다양한 형태가 있다. 이러한 여러 가지 형태를 가지며 분산되어 있는 가입자 망을 효율적이며 집중화된 형태로 관리하기 위해서는 다양한 형태의 접속방식을 지원하는 이기종 장비 및 단말들의 상위 개념으로서 추상적이며 논리적인 객체 관리모델이 필요하다. 본 논문은 통합된 가입자망관리를 가능하게 하는 인터넷 가입자 망에 대한 계층적 모델링 구조를 제시하였다. 그리고 UML 에 근거한 객체지향 방법론을 이용하여 가입자망의 예로서 DOCSIS 의 케이블데이터 가입자망과 VDSL 가입자망에 대하여 관리모델을 적용하였다.

  • 인터넷이 발전하고 성장함에 따라 전자상거래(Electronic Commerce)는 초기의 단선적인 관계와 집중화된 구조를 탈피하여, 상호 연관적인 관계 및 분산되고 개방적인 구조를 바탕으로 수행되고 있다. 즉, 인터넷의 본질적인 특성인 네트워크를 기반으로 하는 시장구조가 형성되고 있으며, 이러한 네트워크 시장구조를 기반으로 하여, 새로운 형태의 비즈니스 모델이 출현하고 있다. 네트워크 효과(Network Effect)를 기반으로 하는 네트워킹 비즈니스 모델은 초기의 비즈니스 모델과는 다른 형태의 정보흐름(Information Process) 및 구조(Architecture)를 가지며, 이로 인해 전자시장(Electronic Market)에서 참여자의 역할 및 사업 전략, 수익모델 등이 변화되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 네트워킹 비즈니스 모델이 가지는 구조 및 특성을 규명하고, 사례분석을 통해 다양한 형태의 네트워킹 비즈니스 모델을 분류하여, 네트워킹 비즈니스 모델의 활용가능성을 모색해보고자 한다.

  • 다양한 형태로 이루어진 가입자 망은 접속방식별로 이기종(異機種)의 장비를 이용하여 가입자에게 단일 형태의 초고속 인터넷 서비스를 제공하고 있다. 전국에 분산된 가입자 망을 효과적이며 집중화된 형태로 관리하기 위해서 다양한 형태의 접속방식을 지원하는 이기종 장비 및 단말들의 상위 개념으로서 추상적이며 논리적인 객체 관리모델이 필요하다. 본 논문은 RM-ODP를 이용하여 통합된 계층적 망관리를 가능하게 하는 인터넷 가입자 망에 대한 모델링 구조를 제시하였다.
