Erlang Capacity of Cognitive Radio Systems Utilizing Buffer for Spectrum Handoff Calls (스펙트럼 핸드오프 호를 위해 버퍼를 활용하는 무선인지시스템의 얼랑 용량)

  • In this paper, the performance of cognitive radio network is analyzed in terms of Erlang capacity. To improve the Erlang capacity with respect to primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU) traffic, we propose an efficient radio resource management scheme utilizing the buffer for new SUs and interrupted SUs. Markov model is developed, and analyzed to derive the performances of the proposed spectrum sharing scheme in both primary system and secondary system. To determine the Erlang capacity region, the blocking probability, the forced termination probability and the non-completion probability are calculated. Simulation results provide insight into the advantages of the buffer utilization. It is observed that the supportable traffic loads of PU and SU can be increased significantly according to the buffer length.

  • Agents in Multi-Agent System; (MAS) should make use of a common Agent Communication Language (ACL) in order to negotiate with others, and conform to negotiation protocols thatare designed to reach agreements. Therefore, agents must have suitable architectures that could cover above requirements. In this paper, we define an instructive ACL and compare it with other ACLs such as Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA) ACL and Knowledge Query Manipulation Language(KQML), In particular, we represent agents as logic programs with knowledge base and negotiation library. Finally, we show how the planner, which is in the negotiation library, provides the plan of actions and updates agent's knowledge base.

  • 1950년대 동란을 거쳐 1960년대 초반부터 시작된 경제개발계획에 의해 급격한 경제성장으로 인해 산업 인구의 대도시 집중화에 의하여 전기의 공급력 부족 현상은 지속되었다. 따라서, 이때부터 성장한 경제배전계통은 수적으로도 많고 광범위하게 산재되어 있어 인력에 의해서는 더 이상 효과적인 관리가 어렵게 되었고, 사회가 고도 정보화로 진전되면서 수용가는 한층 더 높은 공급 신뢰도와 고품질의 전력공급을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 변화에 따라 전력공급자는 전력계통에 대한 감시와 제어를 통하여 항시 안정적이고 신뢰성있는 운용을 하여야한다. 이에 따라 배전계통에 설치된 배전설비를 컴퓨터와 통신수단을 이용하여 원격지에서 감시 제어할 수 있는 배전자동화 시스템에 대한 연구가 오래 전부터 이루어져 왔으며 효과적으로 양질의 전력을 공급하고자 배전자동화 시스템(DAS)이 도입되었다. 본 연구에서는 능동적인 감시 및 제어기능을 제공하는 객체지향형 능동데이터베이스 알고리즘을 사용하여 배전계통 제어에 적용하였고 기존의 인터넷 통신망을 통한 감시 및 제어가 가능하게 하였으며 이러한 효과에 의해 배전계통이 여러개의 다른 전력회사로 분할될 경우 각기 존재하는 다른 시스템에 대하여 인터넷을 통한 연계가 가능하도록 하여 통합적인 데이터베이스를 구축하는데 용이하게 하였다.

  • The emergence of new communication media, digital, is something of a wonder, as well as a cultural tension. The industrial technologies that dramatically expand human abilities are being developed much faster than the speed of adaptation by humans. Without an exception, it creates new contents and form of the culture by shaking the very foundation of the notion about human beings. Korean broadcasting environment has stepped into the era of multi-media, multi-channel as the digital technology separated the media into network, cable, satellite and internet. In this digital culture, broadcasting, as a medium of information delivering and communication, has bigger influence than ever. Such changes in broadcasting environment turned the TV viewers into new consumers who participate and play the main role in active communication by choosing and using the media. This study is trying to systemize the question about the core identity of broadcasting through brand as the consumers stand in the center of broadcasting with the power to select channel. The story schema theory can be applied as a cognitive psychological tool to approach the active consumers in order to explain the cognitive processes that are related to information processing. It is a design with stories, which comes up as a case of a brand's story telling. The range of this study covers the current issue and educational programs in network TV during the period of May and August of year 2005. The cases of Korean and foreign programs were compared by the station each program is broadcasted. This study concludes that it is important to take the channel identity into the consideration in the brand strategy of each program. Especially, the leading programs of a station must not be treated as a separate program that has nothing to do with the station's identity. They must be treated to include the contents and form that builds the identity of the channel. Also, this study reconfirmed that building a brand of the anchor person can play as an important factor in the identity of the program's brand.

A Mechanism to Support Real-Time Internet Services over the ATM Network (ATM 망을 통한 실시간 인터넷 서비스 지원 메커니즘)

  • In this paper, we propose MSS(Multicast Synchronization Server) and QCS(QoS Conversion Server) models that can support IP multicast and QoS(Quality of Service) over the ATM network more efficiently. In the MSS model, it is possible to establish shortcut VCs(Virtual Circuits) among all hosts in the ATM network and to transfer multicast data at high speed. Also the MSS model is more scalable, because the number of inter-cluster VCs needed in the MSS model is less than that of EARTH. In the QCS model, ATM switch is modified to support one QoS service and best effort service through the one point-to-multipoint VC at the same time so required network resources are reduced, and dedicated server is used for QoS conversion to accept heterogeneous receivers more efficiently. In this Paper, the proposed MSS model and QCS model have solved both efficiency problem and scalability problem. It is proved through the comparison of the VCs required in each model.

Study on How Service Usefulness and Privacy Concern Influence on Service Acceptance (서비스의 유용성과 프라이버시 염려도가 개인화 된 서비스 수용성에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • As the highly improved Internet and information technology has led to the diversification of users' demands, personalization service attract lots of attention as a means to meet highly diversified demand of users. However, personalization service costs a lot. Also concerns over a possible violation of privacy have been raised since the service uses technology to find out the users' profiles. This research studies the advantages individuals acquire from personalization service and how privacy concern influences service acceptance. Research on related documents and information gathering from e-commerce sites derived six representative types of service. Questionnaires were utilized to research privacy concern according to services, service usefulness, and service acceptance. As expected, privacy concern has a negative relation to acceptance while service usefulness has a positive relation to it, thereby resulting in an offset between two variables. Moreover, they play a different role depending on what kinds of service or in formation should be provided. The results derived from this paper will help the e-commerce sites provide personalization service by collecting personal information while protecting users' privacy.

  • Current identity management 1.0 model, which is service provider-centric and isolated, has several problems such as low usability, high cost structure, difficulty in privacy protection, and lack of trust infrastructure. Though various SSO-based identity management 2.0 models including Passport/Live ID, Liberty Alliance/SAML, CardSpace, and OpenID have been recently developed in order to overcome those problems, they are not widely accepted in real Internet environment so as to replace the existing identity management 1.0 model. This paper firstly analyzes the widely-known identity 2.0 models in a comparative way, and then presents a perspective on the development direction of identity management 3.0 model for future Internet.

  • IMS(IP Multi-Media Subsystem) is in the limelight as the Integrated wire and wireless Systems because of a sudden increase of smart mobile devices and growth of multimedia additional services such as IPTV. The structure of IMS is designed as a session control layer to provide various multimedia summative service using SIP based on IP communication network in order to carry out set-up, change and release by NGN of course, the existing voice services. But now It is broadly substituting in the IPTV, wire phone company and it is substituted in internet platform base on the soft-switch in currently. Especially, in currently, 4G LTE in a mobile communication company is rapidly growing in market. Therefore, in this study, we had designed and developed to the main prosser that can admit to 1000 user over and SIP gateway which can link the IMS Core that can link SIP Device which adopt the standard protocol on the SIP and to provide variable multimedia services.

  • FS-VDSL은 B-PON과 VDSL을 이용하여 가입자에게 디지털TV, VOD, 초고속인터넷, 전화 등을 총 망라한 Full Service를 제공하기 위해 필요한 모든 망구조 및 프로토콜에 대해서 규정한다. FS-VDSL의 전신은 FSAN xDSL working group이며, FSAN에서 정의한 B-PON을 기본적인 액세스망으로 정의하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 End-to-end Full Service 제공을 위하여 FS-VDSL에서 솔루션으로 제시하고 있는 하이브리드 코어망, B-PON 및 VDSL 액세스망, Ethernet 홈네트워크를 포함하는 End-to-end 망구조 및 각각의 프로토콜에 대하여 살펴본다. 또한 Full Service의 핵심인 영상서비스 수용을 위하여 효율적인 비디오 트래픽 전달이 가능한 비디오 인켑슐레이션 프로토콜 및 DBTV 채널변경 프로토콜 등에 대하여 살펴보고, FS-VDSL에서 제시하는 방안을 이용한 KT의 브로드밴드 망구축 적용성에 대해 살펴본다.

  • 스마트폰 도입 이래 음성서비스뿐만 아니라 인터넷서비스의 활발한 이용으로 인해 데이터 사용량이 급증하고 있다. 5G 무선통신시스템은 폭발적으로 증가하는 무선 트래픽 사용량을 효율적으로 처리하고 사용자의 다양한 서비스 및 단말 요구를 수용하기 위해 매크로셀과 소형셀이 공존하는 HetNet 형태로 진화하고 있으며 소형셀들을 밀집되게 구축하는 방안이 고려되고 있다. 본고에서는 이동통신망에서 운용상에 나타날 수 있는 결함, 이상, 고장 등을 실시간으로 파악하여 운용자에게 알려줌으로써 장애에 대해 대처할 수 있는 OAM(Operation, Administration, Maintenance) 기능을 살펴본다. 특히, 3GPP(3rd Generation Partnership Project)에서의 OAM의 표준화 기술동향, 소형셀에 적용하기 위해 실제 구현 시의 OAM Agent 설계 개념, 그리고 OAM 절차에 대하여 소개한다.
