Comparative Analysis of Internet-based Business Strategy of Leading Companies in Korea, U.S., and Japan (한.미.일 3국 기업들의 인터넷 활용전략 비교분석)

  • Many organizations have developed their own information systems not only for internal efficiency but also for effectiveness of external customer services. The infusion of powerful information networks into business environments is beginning to have a profound impact on the nature of governance between buyers and sellers in the market place. One of the most effective service tools for their customers is the use of information technology. The web technology is rapidly becoming one of the most effective online customer service tools toward strategic competitive advantage. In order to gain competitive edge, organizations must have effective web sites for customer services. A study on web service development phase has been conducted and present states of web usages by Korean, US., Japanese companies are surveyed. Cases of business web sites are empirically analyzed in order to compare the different levels of web site application in three countries. Conclusively, countries with longer experience with internet has more advanced level of web application such as business transaction and internet process innovation. In order to support effective web site planning, organizations have to understand their current position in Internet application and form strategies for e-business.

  • 현재 국내 초고속인터넷서비스 시장은 기존통신사업자들의 업역 확대와 신규사업자들의 진입에 따라 초경쟁(hyper-competition)상황에 놓여 있다. 이에 본 고에서는 국내 초고속인터넷서비스 시장의 주요 제품으로 등장하고 있는 ADSL 및 Cable Modem 기술을 이용한 서비스의 시장 경쟁상황을 Porter의 산업구조분석 모형(5-force model)의 측면에서 개괄하고, 현재 사업을 전개하고 있는 각 사업자의 서비스 제공 내용 및 가격 현황을 제시한 후 이들의 가격 및 판촉전략 비교를 통해 향후 사업자들이 취할 수 있는 전략방향을 제시하고자 하였다.

With most major full service banks having launched transactional Internet banking, attention is shifting to the realities of managing the Internet channel as a profitable component of an overall delivery strategy. In addition to examining Case Study and Internet Bank Model.   • This article describes a business case of ROSEWeb, a floral distribution service by internet of Newrun System Company. Newrun System is one of the floral distribution IT solution company. The purpose of this case study is to find out which factors of ROSEWeb solution of successful business model and internet distribution strategy that plays an important role as the floral distribution IT service. ROSEWeb has experienced many challenging obstacles while they prepare for this floral distribution IT service. This case study has found that Newrun System Company execute the rapidly transformation of business model to cope with changing situation. Specially, so far, ROSEWeb continuously keep on competitive advantage as floral distribution IT service through building core competence. this study shows that ROSEWeb's case broadly apply reference model to the building business model and formulating floral distribution service strategy and other internet business models. Finally, we intends to discuss about theses questions. the question is "by the existing state of entering Internet portal(Yahoo, Naver, Daum), Can ROSEWeb have sustainable competitive advantage in floral distribution service?", and "what is Newrun System's next business model?". Through the intensive interviews with people involved in the development of ROSEWeb, this article provides important implications to the business community who is preparing for new applications for mobile internet.

  • To understand and forecast the wireless internet market in Korea, we will analyse the network externalities in wireless internet market into communication network externalities and hardware/software network externalities. The wireless market has two competing streams, one is mobile internet and the other is wireless fan internet. Both are characterized by strong network externalities which lead to increasing return to stale. Mobile internet is supposed more suitable for communication and WLAN for data. However these two system will compete in some area, and the critical factor to deride the winner is supposed to be the network externalities as in so many other high-tech industries had showed.

  • This study is presented on the corporate advertising strategy utilizing internet on corporate social responsibility in the context of the articles. To this end, Internet articles divided into positive and negative contexts, and has even attracted the attention of Internet articles and high /low and then separated into groups on ad attitudes and corporate image, the interaction effect was examined. Firstly, the Internet, a low level of condition of the article noted, in the context of a positive than a negative context, recall rates were higher. Second, the context of Internet articles and attention on the interaction effect between attitude toward advertising appeared. Third, the context of Internet articles and attention on the interaction effects between the corporate image appeared. Finally, the context of Internet articles and attention on competitive interactions between the corporate management was effective. Thus, the context of Internet articles based on the level of attention and context to determine the effect of advertising by consumer advertising awareness and favorable attitude toward corporate advertising and corporate image enhancement and competitiveness of business management can be an effective strategic plan suggests that.

  • 초고속 인터넷 서비스는 사용자수의 증가와 더불어 고객의 다양한 욕구 즉 인터넷 방송, 주문형비디오(VOD)서비스, 원격교육, 고화질 TV 등 대용량의 멀티미디어 서비스에 대한 욕구가 폭발적으로 증가하고 있다. 이러한 욕구를 충족하기 위해서는 현재의 초고속 인터넷서비스로서는 속도에 대한 한계에 부딪치게 되어 통신사업자들은 새로운 기술 또는 여러 가지 기술적 대안들을 추구하고 있다. 2002년부터 시작하여 2003년 이후에는 멀티미디어 수요의 증가에 따라 ADSL을 대체하는 기술로 VDSL이 등장하여 매년 꾸준한 신규가입자 수요가 발생하고 있으나, 통신사업자들은 각각의 망 특성, 시장위치, 전략적 필요성 둥에 의해 상용화를 적극 검토,추진하고 있으나 각각 전개하는 방식은 조금씩 다르다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 통신사업자들의 가입자망 진화 전략에 대해 살펴 본 다음 Lot3n-Volterra Competition (LVC) 모델을 이용 ADSL 과 VDSL 두 기술간의 상호 경쟁 및 대체를 통해 어떻게 진화 되어가는지를 살펴보았다. 대표적인 통신사업자인 KT는 막강한 자금력을 바탕으로 시장 확대 및 경쟁사와의 차별화를 위해 VDSL 서비스 조기도입을 서두르고 있고, 하나로는 자금의 열세로 인한 ADSL 투자비를 회수 할때까지 VDSL 서비스를 연기하고 있는 실정이다. ADSL과 VDSL 두 기술의 관계는 Lotka-Volterra Competition (LVC) 모델을 이용한 시뮬레이션 결과를 통해 빠른 속도와 비슷한 가격대의 VDSL이 침략자(predator)로 기존 시장 지배자인 ADSL을 사냥감(prey)으로 빠른 속도로 대체해 나가는 것을 알 수 있었다.

  • Recently, as the most people use the high-speed Internet service, it is positioned as a universal service in Korea. Therefore, the competition among service providers is becoming fierce and fierce. The defensive marketing which raise customer loyalty can be an effective method in this case. In this study, we identified the sources of customer loyalty in the high-speed Internet service. The results showed that the satisfaction on the service quality and after service impacts on the customer loyalty positively. We expect that this result will be helpful for practitioners to make customer strategies.

Differentiation Strategies for a Women Portal Site: An Empirical Study (여성 포탈 사이트의 차별화 전략에 관한 실증 연구)

  • The recent survey shows that female web-suffers in Korea make up to 45.3% of total netizens and this growth will be continued. While the market in women portal sites is spotlighted recently, a brand power of a women portal site is still weaker to compete with other general portal sites. To be competitive, the women portal site should implement differentiation strategies. The primary objective of this research is to suggest the differentiation strategies for a women portal site based on the 6C (contents, community, commerce, connection, communication, and customizing). To achieve this goal, the questionnaire is posted on the web site and 348 samples are analyzed. As a result, the 15 differentiation strategies that are validated via the web-survey are presented. The results of this study are expected to help companies develop appropriate strategies for women Internet users.
