본 연구에서는 인터넷 환경의 정보검색 문제를 해결하기 위한 방안으로 메타데이터 기반구조인 PICS를 분석하여 인터넷 자원의 검색 및 필터링에 적용할 수 있는 요인들을 제시하였다. 또한 시스템의 실재 구현을 도모하기 위해 의학 정보를 위한‘OMNI-PICS’라는 등급체계의 프로토타입을 설정하고, 기계가독형 RAT파일을 설계하였다. 따라서 웹에서 특정 주제 영역을 다루는 주제게이트웨이들이 자원을 협력적으로 필터링하기 위한 표준 포맷으로 PICS 등급체계를 적용하여 운용할 수 있는 구체적 지침을 제공하였다.

RDF treats all resources independently, that's integrated description model for internet resources description, that provides the model to connect resources that related with the specific resources. This article performs theoretical review of RDF model and syntax specification and RDF schema specification that's a common rule of semanics, structure and syntax those provides search and access in the area of dispersed information environment of internet and Dublin Core that's description element for build metadata. And with this way it's materialized metadata design, schema, DTD of Dublin Core element for building RDF-based metadata that is XML application.

Rapid development and dissemination of ICT have brought about vast change in people's lives, including academic research and communication. Considering that the purpose of constructing Internet was to facilitate information exchange among research institutions and to secure stability through distributed preservation of critical information of the countries, increase in utilizing Internet resources for academic research seems to be natural consequences. This study examines the stability of Internet information resources by analyzing the following four factors. First, monitoring whether there is a change in accessibility to information resource as time passes. Second, examining various factors affecting the accessibility. Third, checking if there is a change in the content of information, if still accessible. Lastly verifying if any alternative access path is provided in case of original resource is no longer accessible.

In case user uses e-mail, SIP, internet FAX etc., the user possess as many addresses as services. ENUM is attracting interests which can approach various internet information resources. 본 논문에서 제안하는 XMF(XML-based Mediation Framework)는 인터넷상의 이질적이고 분산되어 있는 정보 자원에 대하여 사용자에게는 위치 투명성(location transparency)과 접근 투명성(access transparency)을 보장하면서 통합시 발생하는 구조적 충돌(structural conflict)과 의미적 충돌(semantic conflict)을 해결하는 기능을 가지고 있다. 또한 XMF는 통합 모델로써 XML을 채택함으로써 모든 정보 자원에 대하여 모델링 할 수 있게 된다. 본 논문은 이러한 XMF를 기반으로 인터넷에 산재하는 정보 자원, 그리고 DBMS에 저장, 관리되는 데이터를 통합하여 사용자에게 가상 멀티미디어 문서(virtual multimedia document)를 제공하는 시스템을 구축하는 것이다.

Although the research information resources on Internet are spread out on thousands of computers, it is not always easy to get them on the right time by the right manner. The purpose of this study is to use DDC(Dewey Decimal Classification) scheme in subject-based directory search engine for research information resourcees to aid retrieval on the Internet. For the design of classification code, this study followed 'systematic order' of DDC to arrange subjects from the general o the specific in a logical order, and for the design of classification dictionary, 'Relative Index' of DDC was used to bring together the various aspects of subjects.

지질자원정보는 지구과학정보로서, SOC건설, 국토개발, 자연재해방지 및 교육 분야에서 활용되는 국가 기반 지식정보에 해당되며, 그 활용가치로 인해 다양한 분야에서 정보 수요가 증가하고 있다. 지질자원정보 및 시스템을 구축하기 위한 기술적 환경요인으로서 분산된 리소스의 공동 활용을 위한 인터넷 정보 표준 서비스 기술 및 정보의 공공활용을 위한 지질자원정보화 생산기관에서 역할의 중요성이 부각되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 이러한 지질자원정보분야에서 외부 환경에서 지질자원정보화를 능동적으로 추진하기 위한 고려사항 및 전략들을 알아보고 효율적인 정보화를 위한 관련 시스템 모델 및 기술들에 대하여 논의하고자 한다.

Internet has great potential to support many researchers' work. But it is difficult to locate high quality information on the web efficiently and effectively. This paper describes the current state and characteristics of subject-based information gateways(SBIGs) on the Internet and discusses some of issues involving system maintenance and management for information gateway development.

인터넷의 사용이 보편화되어 가고 있는 현대 정보 사기에서는 다양한 정보들이 인터넷 상에 분산되어 존재하고 있다. 이러한 정보 자원들은 서로 이질적인 형태로 분산되어 존재하기 때문에, 정보론 얻으려 하는 최종 사용자가 이러한 정보 자원들에 대해 단일화된 형태로 접근할 수 있는 방법이 요구된다. 따라서, 이러한 정보 통합에 대한 말은 연구가 진행되어 왔다. 본 논문에서는 XML Schema를 이용한 정보 홍합에 있어서, 각 정보 자원들의 이질성에 기인하는 충돌문제를 분류하고, XQuerySD를 이용한 뷰 정의 방식의 동한 과정에서 충돌 해결 방안을 제시하며, XQuerySD를 쉽게 생성한 수 있도록 도와주는 저작 도구를 설계한다.
