본 연구에서는 인터넷 정보자원에 대해 수행된 이용자 연구를 분석하여 각 연구에서 다루고 있는 인터넷 이용자의 특성, 이용 행태 등을 살펴 인터넷 분야의 이용자 연구의 실질적인 동향을 파악하고자 한다. 분석은 연구대상의 이용자 집단, 연구에서 사용된 인터넷의 환경, 데이터수집 방법으로 나누어 이루어졌다.

Library classification system is based upon academic disciplines, However, it is difficult to classify for Internet resources due to its lack of up-to-datedness and practicality. Especially, headings of Korean Decimal Classification need to reflect practical aspects and it should be also developed for classification of web based resources. The purposes of this study are to analyze the structures of directory classifications in Internet resources and to suggest additional headings of KDC as a practical library classification as well as a classification system for internet resources. Directory classification systems of Naver, Yahoo, Kyobo Internet book store, Amazon were selected and their food and culture subjects were analyzed for this study. The headings of KDC were compared to them and new possible headings were suggested with reference of NDC and DDC in the area of food and culture. This study provided a way of developing KDC for a classification system for Internet resources as well as library materials.

정보자원을 식별하는 식별기호는 관련분야 내에서와 관련분야간의 커뮤니케이션에 필수적인 도구가 된다. 이미 국제표준도서번호(ISBN)나 국제표준연속간행물번호(ISSN)는 도서와 연속간행물에 대한 식별 기호로서 널리 사용되고 있으며 중요성을 인정받고 있다. 네트워크 환경이 일반화되고 인터넷상에 존재하는 정보자원의 식별이 중요한 이슈로 떠오르면서 URI, RUN, URL, URC 등으로 이어지는 URx가 인터넷 정보자원의 식별과 검색을 위한 메타데이터로 활용되고 있다.

Needs for up-to-date research information in various academic and research organizations are rapidly increasing in our country. It requires that researchers utilize worldwide information networks such as Internet to obtain recent information. In this study, various information searching tools and services available on Internet are investigated and information resources, especially scholarly resources, are explored using WAIS, WWW. Gopher, and OPACs. These information resources are analyzed to evaluate the value of Internet as a research network.

인터넷 기반 자원 공유 시스템은 네트워크에 연결된 피어의 자원을 이용하여 고성능의 컴퓨팅 구현을 위한 시스템이다. 인터넷 기반 자원 공유 시스템의 가변적인 환경은 피어의 등록 및 삭제가 자유로워 연산 처리에 대한 신뢰성 문제를 발생시킨다. 본 논문에서는 인터넷 기반 자원 공유 시스템의 신뢰성 향상을 위해서 이기종 시스템간의 협업 그룹을 생성하여 관리하는 협업 관리 시스템을 설계한다. 효율적인 협업 관리를 위해 이기종 피어를 관리하는 협업 그룹을 정의하고 계층 구조의 중간DB서버를 제안한다. 그리고 협업 관리 시스템에서 제공되는 협업 그룹 서비스, 디스커버리 서비스, 작업 관리 서비스를 제안한다.

인터넷 이용 경험이 적은 초보자뿐만 아니라 경험자도 인터넷에서 자신에게 필요한 정보를 찾기는 쉽지 않다. 인터넷 정보자원은 급증하는 반면 인터넷 검색엔진이 원하는 정보를 찾아주는 확률은 오히려 줄어들고 있는데 이는 체계적으로 정리되어 있지 않기 때문이다. 본 연구는 인터넷의 잔문 즉 웹브라우저를 실행한 후 처음 접속하는 사이트인 포털사이트(Portal site)를 전문화하여 궁극적으로 포털을 정보이용의 최종 목적지가 될 수 있는 모형을 설계하였다. 이 모형은 도서관이 보유하고 있는 학술정보 뿐만 아니라 인터넷의 정보자원을 체계적으로 정리하고 부가서비스를 제공하여 이용자의 정보이용 편의성을 높이는데 있다.

인터넷은 본질적으로 신뢰할 수 없는 네트웍들의 집합체로, 정보의 흐름을 통제하기가 대단히 어렵기 때문에, 인터넷에 산재한 자원을 충분히 활용하면서, 내부의 중요한 자원을 인터넷으로부터 보호해 줄 수 있는 인터넷 보안이 가장 심각한 문제로 대두되고 있다. 본 고에서는 현재 인터넷 보안의 주류를 이루는 있는 가상사설망(VPN : Virtual Private Network)과 방화벽(Firewall), 그리고 방화벽의 부족한 부분을 보강해 줄 수 있는 침입탐지시스템(IDS: Intrusion Detection System)에 대한 기본 구현 기술들을 비교 분석해 본다.

Internet is having the most significant impact on library and information services. This article describes introduction of Internet and the value-added information services using Internet resources. As a current awareness service using E-mail, Zephyr of the University of Washington, BM-SwetScan of the Boehringer Mannheim GmbH, and JContent of the KAIST are introduced. As a web-based integrated system, HarperSource, Ei Village, IPL, and ETLARS are introduced. Locating, filtering, evaluating, and organizing Internet information resources remains a main challenge.

For an efficient access to Internet resources, these resources need to be organized systematically for accessibility. and their cataloging technique has been developing. Consequently, after I compared and analyzed OCLC manual applying AACR2 techniques and procedures, with Dublin core metadata used for cataloging Internet resources, I examined their mapping into MARC format. Dublin core metadata elements should be transformed to MARC format fields. In methodology of integration into different types of the metadata, an update of MARC format and its new field should be provided. Especially, Internet resources cataloging experts familiar with these technology will be really wanted nowadays.

인터넷 정보자원의 폭발적인 증가에 따라 이를 효율적으로 조직화하고 체계화하는 시스템의 중요성이 증가하고 있다. 이에 따라 주제접근을 용이하게 하고 검색 효율성을 높이는 도구로서 분류체계에 대한 관심이 커지고 있다. 본고에서는 인터넷 서비스의 분류체계 응용사례중 주제별 디렉토리의 인터넷 기반 분류체계와 기존 문헌 분류체계를 비교 분석함으로써 인터넷 환경에 적합한 분류체계의 구성방안을 제시하였다.
