Effects of Home-based Cognitive Occupational Therapy Applied to Dementia Patients in the Initial Stages in Gangwon-do (강원도 지역 초기 치매환자에게 적용한 가정방문 인지작업치료의 효과)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of a Home-based cognitive occupational therapy program conducted for the dementia patients in the initial stages living in Taebaek region in Gangwon-do. Methods : This study carried out Home-based cognitive occupational therapy intervention by 30 Occupational Therapy Dept. students and volunteers targeting 30 dementia patients in the initiative stages for eight sessions, once a week. To identify the change of cognitive function of the participants before and after the program, MMSE-K was used for measuring. Results : As a result of applying Home-based cognitive occupational therapy to the dementia patients in the initial stages, overall cognitive function improvement was demonstrated. Especially, statistically significant improvement was exhibited in orientation, memory retrieval, the concentration of attention, and language ability. Conclusion : The program for cognitive function improvement is considered to be usefully applied to intervention in the dementia patients. The development of various Home-based occupational therapy intervention programs is required in order to adopt the Home-based occupational therapy service in the future.

The Effects of the Daily Life Management Program of the Elderly with Mild Cognitive Impairment on Cognition Function, Depression and Health Promoting Lifestyle (경도인지장애 노인의 일상생활 관리프로그램이 인지기능, 우울 및 건강증진생활양식에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out whether the cognitive function, depression, and health promotion lifestyle changes are maintained or improved through the dementia prevention program when applying the dementia prevention program along with the daily life management program to the elderly with mild cognitive impairment. The study was conducted from April 1 to August 9, 2019, and 30 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment who participated in the dementia prevention program at the Dementia Safty Center in Seoul were studied. The study found that cognitive function (MMSE-DS) and health promotion lifestyle (HPLP-II) were maintained and improved compared to control groups in the experimental group that voluntarily implemented daily life management programs along with dementia prevention programs, and that depression (SF-GDS) decreased. Therefore, based on the results of this study, in future studies, we hope to develop a variety of voluntary daily life management programs to maintain and improve the effectiveness of the dementia prevention program for a long period of time. I hope that the prospective study will be done.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of recreation therapy program on cognitive function and balance sensation of demented elderly patients. The subjects were 16 elderly patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's dementia, divided into experimental group and control group. Recreation therapy program was provided to experimental group for 6 months and the change of cognitive function and balance before and after treatment was analyzed in both groups. The research concluded that the recreation therapy program maintained or even enhanced cognitive function and balance in the elderly with Alzheimer's dementia. The development along with the verification of effectiveness of non-pharmacological methods such as recreational therapy contributed to the study of treatment for the elderly with dementia.

  • 21세기 들어 기후변화와 지구 온난화로 인한 환경에 대한 정책적 관심이 높아져 왔다. 21세기 초에 집권하였던 한국의 이명박 정부에서는 '녹색 성장(green growth)' 정책을 내걸어서 환경 정책과 경제 성장 정책을 동시에 포괄하고자 하였다. 본 논문에서는 어떠한 과정을 거쳐서 녹색 성장 정책의 아젠다가 형성되었는지를 연구하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 녹색 성장이라는 정책 아젠다가 형성되는 행태적 과정에 관한 시계열 분석과 함께 구조적 측면으로서 인지지도 분석을 수행한다. 정책 아젠다의 시계열 분석을 위하여 신문 기사와 정책 보고서를 분석하며, 이명박 대통령의 연설문을 분석하여 인지지도를 구축한다. 정책 형성에 관한 시계열 분석 결과 녹색성장의 정책 아젠다 형성에 있어서 정치적 요인에 대한 고려가 사회적 이슈나 정책적 이슈보다 중요한 역할을 수행하였다는 점을 발견할 수 있었다. 다른 한편으로 본 연구의 인지지도 분석은 이명박 대통령의 녹색성장 정책이 미래의 다중 위기에 대한 대응으로 나왔으며, 환경의 발전에 초점을 둔다기 보다는 경제적 발전 특히 일자리 창출을 지향하고 있다는 점을 보여주었다. 본 연구는 인지지도 분석을 통하여 시계열 분석으로는 발견할 수 없는 정책형성의 구조적 관계성을 이해할 수 있다는 점을 보여준다.

  • When we are visiting unfamiliar huge public places, it is hard to know what, how, and where to go. For solving these problems, we have suggest a user guide system, and a knowledge model which is built to support the system. High intelligence guidance system needs to react the user's context more spontaneously, which could be obtained when a system aware both the location and process coordinately. In this paper, we will show how our knowledge model is designed to enable the system to interpret simultaneously both of them.

  • The performance of navigational equipments is advanced, but the importance of the practical capability of bridge device by ship's officer, ie the ability of risk prediction and the obligation of avoidance for reducing sea accident, has been constantly augmenting. This abilities and obligation may be represented in the cognitive competence of navigational officer. Different levels of ship's bridge team was carried out rescue maneuvering by ship handling simulator and then it analyzed the resulting of initial response in cognitive progress by case based on trajectory. Further, the data will be used as training and evaluation model of cognitive situation.

  • The framework for mathematics assessments traditionally has been organized around two dimensions, a content dimension specifying the subject matter to be assessed within mathematics, and a cognitive dimension specifying the domains or thinking processes to be assessed. The cognitive dimensions describe the sets of behaviors expected of students as they engage with the mathematics content. The purpose of this paper is an attempt to make diversify and concrete the sets of behaviors by reviewing the current strands suggested by CAST(College Scholastic Ability Test), assessment framework developed by KEDI, and NAEA(National Assessment of Educational Achievement), and as famous foreign tests PISA, TIMSS, NAEP and NCTM.

  • This paper describes a statistical methods and perception test for extracting the parameters to be used for the synthesis-by-rule of Korean plosives. Formant synthesizer is chosen for the synthesis of the phonemes. Speech materials for the analysis consists of 72 CV monosyllables from the single male speaker. The analysis is done mainly focused on the variation of parameters in time and frequency domain, then perception tests are executed to estimate the effects of variations of the formant transitions.

  • The change into the knowledge based information society requires a transformation of educational paradigm. Accordingly, intelligent learning and distance education are attracting a fair amount of attention. To apply the instructional learning method in this field, we need to consider a individualization of learning, as it were, abstraction of fact and path through learning, which is based on learner's traits, this focus entails a argument for individualized reasoning strategy. Therefore, in this paper, we design a learner's cognitive union, which is based on X-Neuronet(eXtended Neuronet), represent learner's hierarchical knowledge is able to self-learn, and grows adaptive union by proprietor. Additionally, we propose a individualized reasoning strategy, which relies upon learner's cognitive union, and verify the validity.

  • Education is an intentional change of human behaviors. This change is implemented through the learning process of humans. The principles in the learning process and its psychological mechanism are based on learning theories. The objective insight about how they are related with school libraries as a basic organization supporting school education, what they can contribute and what their research methodologies are is a base for educational and academic research of school libraries. This study at first is to investigate learning and teaching theories for school libraries based on behavioral learning theories, cognitive learning theories and constructive learning theories which are general trends for learning theories. Then it is to introduce new theory 'library-based education approach (LBEA)'as an educational base of school libraries.
