  • In implementing a computerized virtual training system, the auditory element is responsible for the human cognitive ability following visual elements. Especially, the improvement of hearing ability is closely related to the performance of the training, and it contributes to improvement of the training effect. In this paper, we propose a sound system that is necessary for constructing such a virtual training system as a test system that can use a sound source using a head related transfer function (HRTF). Functional and auditory tests were performed to evaluate system performance.

  • Use of concrete has undoubtedly become widespread in construction. Sensors are used to add functional characteristics to concrete. Self-diagnosing, smart concrete is also being developed. Development of these functional materials and structures will play an important role in protecting buildings and structures against external factors brought about by unusual weather among others. In this study, the innovative measurement system is presented where material damages and internal stress can simply be detected against the compressive and bending force of the structure using light-emitting diode and the resistance property of electric fuse.

  • This research proposes design and construction of Korean type SWC based on user oriented smart work system. To achieve this proposal, the research suggested improvements of related law, changes to working environment, and strengthening information security for users, stronger Korean ICT based; the study investigated for an efficient and suitable Korean type SWC by analyzing Korean government plans and foreign developed countries' cases. The user-oriented smart work service platform suggested in this study aims to offer a solution to national crisis and establish infrastructure to knowledge-industry and creative-industry by collaborative smart work environment of 'Context Awareness' and 'Tangible User Interface'. As a result, smart work suggests methods to produce creative work by IT workers and efficient work environment for better standing in world competition. In conclusion, Korean SWC system is proved to be superior in satisfaction rate at 75.41%, 20.18% higher than average score shown in 5 categories in 5 countries from USA, Japan, and EU's which was 55.23%.

  • Top-k queries are important to many wireless sensor applications. Conventional Top-k query processing algorithms install a filter at each sensor node and suppress unnecessary sensor updates. However, they have some drawbacks that the sensor nodes consume energy extremely to probe sensor reading or update filters. Especially, it becomes worse, when the variation ratio of top-k result is higher. In this paper, we propose a novel Top-k query processing algorithm for energy-efficiency. First, each sensor determines its priority as the order of data gathering. Next, sensor nodes that have higher priority transmit their sensor readings to the base station until gathering k sensor readings. In order to show the superiority of our query processing algorithm, we simulate the performance with the existing query processing algorithms. As a result, our experimental results show that the network lifetime of our method is prolonged largely over the existing method.

  • It is critical for public libraries to use service manuals to provide library services to the disabled. This research investigated librarians' opinion and discerned their utilization and importance of the current service manuals. Also, the study identified librarians' needs and priority of each component of the current manuals. According to the practitioners' evaluation, 'installation of convenience facility' was derived as the most important factor that should be described in detail. In addition, this study suggested that the interpretation of the critical factors should be different regarding to the each library type. The research also suggested various ways to raise low awareness and utilization of the current library manuals for the disabled.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify contradictions in library internship, and address them. As a case study, students who were enrolled in the internship class opened in the 2016 fall semester in a university in Seoul were interviewed. Through applying Activity Theory, the process of internship and contradictions presented in its process were analyzed. The findings indicate that students were satisfied with their internship experience. The internship experience also makes positive impacts on students in terms of understanding the library and information science and deciding their future career as a librarian. Such contradictions as internship duration, operation of the internship process, level of participation or practice, and overlap of part-time experience in a library were identified. This study suggests to make the internship systematic in order to address the contradictions through that all parties in internship are actively participated in internship and that they share information related with the internship.

  • The purposes of this study are to investigate the perception and satisfaction of parents about e-books and to suggest ways to improve library e-book services. A user survey of one hundred twenty parents is carried for library use, computer use, and e-book user / non user behavior, library e-book service evaluation, selection of children's e-books and so on. Based upon the results, proactive library e-book service promotion such as public relations and e-book user education, easy access to e-book collections, recognition of e-book services at libraries, positions for e-book librarians and their professional continuing education, and self-evaluation of library e-book services.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of continuous cropping of pepper on soil microbial phospholipid fatty acids (PLFAs) under upland applied without any pesticides and chemical herbicides from 2000 to 2009. Microbial PLFAs were analysed from soils sampled in 2009. Soil microbial diversities showed PLFAs of monoplanting of pepper were distinct from those of monoplanting of garlic and interplanting of garlic and pepper by principle component 2 (PC2). Furthermore, soil microbial activity of monoplanting of pepper significantly decreased PLFAs representing as VAM-fungi, whereas it significantly increased in actinomycetes and saturated/monounsaturated PLFAs' ratio. The results drove continuous cropping of pepper would vary the microbial community and their specific activity. Soil microbial activities in continuous cropping system would depend on crop root systems.

  • This study aims to prove the value of convergence-based mobile English curriculum for English education prior to its practical use. This is deferent from the existing studies in developing and studying a curriculum using an English program loaded in mobile to make an effective English learning. In order to find out how well teachers are aware of this curriculum, we performed qualitative researches. Some English teachers asked for feedback about the curriculum gave us positive feedback in most areas such as learning authentic English, repetition effects, cooperative learning, self-efficacy experience, and so on. As a negative feedback, they were afraid of students' easy and free attitudes because of the new learning environments. This problem can be solved by the very close communications between teacher and student through on and off line. Next time applying this curriculum to the field and analyzing will be expected.

  • Due to the recent surge in popularity of cryptocurrency, the threat of cryptojacking, a malicious code for mining cryptocurrencies, is increasing. In particular, web-based cryptojacking is easy to attack because the victim can mine cryptocurrencies using the victim's PC resources just by accessing the website and simply adding mining scripts. The cryptojacking attack causes poor performance and malfunction. It can also cause hardware failure due to overheating and aging caused by mining. Cryptojacking is difficult for victims to recognize the damage, so research is needed to efficiently detect and block cryptojacking. In this work, we take representative distinct symptoms of cryptojacking as an indicator and propose a new architecture. We utilized the K-Nearst Neighbors(KNN) model, which trained computer performance indicators as behavior-based dynamic analysis techniques. In addition, a K-means model, which trained the frequency of malicious script words for script similarity-based static analysis techniques, was utilized. The KNN model had 99.6% accuracy, and the K-means model had a silhouette coefficient of 0.61 for normal clusters.
