  • Purpose: A quantitative descriptive study aimed to identify the relationships between spiritual well-being and perception attitudes of death in nursing students. Methods: A survey was conducted and 175 data were collected. Collected data were computed and analyzed using SPSS10.0 for Win. 1) Descriptive statistics were used to identify demographic data, and 2) both t-test and ANOVA statistics were used to figure out the relationships between spiritual well-being /or perception attitudes of death and demographic data of the participants. 3) Pearson's correlation coefficient was used to identify the relationships between the two main variables. Results: 1) The mean of spiritual well-being score of the participants was $50.9943{\pm}10.7235$. Significant relationships between religion /or doing economic activity and spiritual well-being were found. 2) The mean of perception attitudes of death was $20.4914{\pm}2.6280$. There were significant relationships between gender /or age and perception attitudes of death among participants. 3) A strong positive relationship between spiritual well-being and perception attitudes of death of participants was also found(r=.261, P=.000). Conclusion: The study results shows that spiritual well-being of nursing students as caregivers of terminal patients is important when the perception of death of terminal patients is considered. Previous studies indicate that caregivers' perception attitudes impact on those of terminal patients. Therefore, it is suggested that not only perception attitudes of death and spiritual well-being in terminal patients, but also those of caregivers are importantly required to consider in educational programs in relation to spiritual care of terminal patients.

  • In this study we examined the relationships between an elementary schoolchild' cognition, attitude, and the frequency and amount of kimchi consumed. Referring to previous studies, we define cognition as being composed of benefit, identity, and globalization. We examined how each cognition affected attitude, and how attitude affected amount of kimchi consumed, on a scale of preference or non-preference. We confirmed that the 'identity' cognition and 'globalization' cognition of kimchi have a positive effect on 'favorable attitude'. The 'benefit' cognition did not have a significant effect on 'favorable attitude', but it did have a positive effect on 'identity' and 'globalization', which had a significant effect on 'favorable attitude'. We also confirmed that 'favorable attitude' has a positive effect on the 'frequency of kimchi intake' and 'amount of kimchi intake'. Given these results, it is necessary to develop and supply the educational contents that stimulate the identity and globalization of kimchi in order to improve children's intake of kimchi, emphasizing the benefits of consuming kimchi.

  • Based on risk-benefit theory, this study examined a structural equation model accounting for the mechanisms through which affective perceptions of AI predicting individuals' support for the government's Ai policies. Four perceived characteristics of AI (i.e., usefulness, entertainment value, privacy concern, threat of human replacement) were investigated in relation to perceived benefits/risks, attitudes toward AI, and AI policy support, based on a nationwide sample of South Korea (N=352). The hypothesized model was well supported by the data: Perceived usefulness was a strong predictor of perceived benefit, which in turn predicted attitude and support. Perceived benefit and attitude played significant roles as mediators. Perceived entertainment value along with perceived usefulness and privacy concern predicted attitude, not perceived benefit. Neither attitude nor support was significantly associated with perceived risk which was predicted by privacy concern. Theoretical and practical implications of the results are discussed.

Male's sexual attitude was more conservative, but difference of sexual attitude between male and female was not statistically significant (p=.073). This study presented that the more conservative sexual attitude was related to the higher level of sexual harassment awareness in male group. On the contrary, the more conservative sexual attitude was related to the lower level of sexual harassment awareness in female group. It is necessary to develop a gender-specific sexual harassment prevention education program.

  • The purpose of this paper is to examine the determinants of public attitudes toward welfare spending in relation with the perception of welfare level. Data from the national survey of 'the SSK Good Government Research Unit' are used to perform a logistic regression analysis of the association between welfare attitudes and government perceptions, political orientations, and socio-economic backgrounds. The most prominent finding is that the determinants of welfare attitudes differ markedly between the two different groups of welfare perception. The empirical results say that persons living in a corrupt government tend to prefer welfare spendings despite having low level of welfare, and persons living in a unjust government tend to prefer welfare expansion because welfare level must be low. Persons living in a government of great capacity tend to have positive attitudes to welfare spending despite having a high level of welfare, whereas persons living in a government of less capacity tend to have negative attitudes to welfare expansion because the level of welfare is too high beyond government capacity. This distinction between the two perceptions of welfare level provides a systemic understanding of public attitudes toward welfare spending.
