A Study on the Stabilization of Generating Negative Voltage for IT Equipments using Microcontroller (마이크로컨트롤러를 이용한 IT 기기용 마이너스 전압 생성의 안정화에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, the function of starting the negative voltage used in the IT equipment when it is generated and the method of controlling it using a microcontroller for the function to detect the overload and respond to it are presented. To do this, the limitations of the existing negative voltage generation circuit and the problems that occur during overload were analyzed, and a circuit that detects and controls the overload condition without a separate current sensing circuit was presented. In order to confirm the effect of the proposed method, an experiment was conducted by configuring an experimental circuit. As a result of the experiment, compared to the existing negative voltage generation circuit, which falls into a latch-up state when overloaded and enters a dangerous state, the proposed circuit detects this, stop the operation of the circuit, and informs the user of such an abnormal state to take action. have. In addition, since the starting point of the circuit is determined according to the system state, the experimental result was confirmed that the starting time was significantly shortened by about 23% compared to the time switch method.

  • In this study, we developed the inverter system to control Induction motor for the vertically circulation parking facility. In the case of calling a pallet, a car parking space, we basically stoned conventional system's problems, pallet is uncontrollable to the fixed position and braking system was worn by forcer braking with remaining speed. Also, by appling to converter controller, added to power regenerative control function, we confirmed the reduce of power supply capacity and the energy saving effect according to increasing operation frequency. The validity of this system is verified by 55kw induction motor driving system. Via this study, the proposed system shows the efficient use of parking facility and good operation characteristics by implementing position and speed control effectively on condition of load and shows energy saying effect by power factor control for the vertically circulation parking facility operation.

  • In this paper, a cooling system of high-power propulsion motor with Energy Saving System(ESS) is described. Normally, the cooling system for ship consists of fresh water pump, sea water pump, 3-way valve and cooler. In the cooling system, F.W(Fresh Water) and S.W(Sea Water) pump is operated on rated rpm, and the 3-way valve is controlled for preventing over-cooling. So, the consumption power of pump's motor is changed according to a sea water temperature. In the proposed cooling system, F.W. pump and S.W pump is controlled by inverter, and it is can be reduced the consumption power. Also, it is proved with simulation.

  • In the microgrid, inverters for energy storage system are generally constructed in a parallel structure because of capacity expandability, convenience of system maintenance, and reliability improvement. Parallel inverters are required to provide stable voltage to the critical load in PCC and to accurately share the current between each inverter. Furthermore, when islanding occurs, the inverters should change its operating mode from grid-connected mode to stand-alone mode. However, during clearing time and control mode change, the conventional control method has a negative impact on the critical load, that is, severe fluctuating voltage. In this study, a parallel operation control method is proposed. This method provides seamless mode transfer for the entire transition period, including clearing time and control mode change, and has accurate current sharing between each inverter. The proposed control method is validated through simulation and experiment.

  • Turbo compressors need high speed rotating impeller in structure, high rate gearbox and conventional induction motor. This mechanical system increased moment of inertia and mechanical friction loss. Recently turbo compressor has adopted a super high-speed motor and driver and have made its size smaller and mechanical friction loss at minimum. In this paper, variable super high - speed motor controller, compressor controller and MMI controller are implemented with only one DSP (TMS320VC33) chip for a 150HP, 70,000rpm direct drive turbo compressor. It was required hardware and software integration. The result of integration, Controller hardware became simple and all control software are developed same developing tool. The implements turbo compressor meets the requirements.

Resently the study of turbo compressor applied super high speed motor and drive, removing gearbox made its size small and mechanical friction loss minimum. In this study we tried to develope variable super high speed motor controller, compressor controller and MMI controller under one DSP based systems for 1500Hp, 70,000rpm direct drive Turbo compressor. It have to do unitification of each controller"s hardware and software. The result of study is applied to a 150Hp direct turbo compressor and makes it goods.oods.

  • In this paper, the control algorithm of DC source device for inverter starting is proposed and the control method for compensating unbalance system source on operating time in the voltage type PWM converter with driving and regenerative faculty is suggested. The maintaining way of balancing condition for converter of AC source is used the compensating unbalanced status by current control loop. Because it is possible that the unbalanced System control is used to leakage transformer not equaled reactance by each phase in rectifier system, the proposed H/W and control algorithm of rectifier system is contributed to minimize of device and rising efficiency.

  • 풍력을 이용한 풍력발전기의 전력변환 시스템을 연구개발하기 위해서는 바람의 특성을 실내에서 구현할 수 있는 모의시험장치인 시뮬레이터가 요구된다. 모의시험장치는 바람을 받아 회전하는 블레이드 대신 풍속 값을 입력하여 전동기가 발전기에 토오크(torque)를 공급하게 된다. POSTECH 풍력에너지연구소는 2003년 750kW급 KBP-750D 풍력발전기용 모의시험장치에 이어, 2007년 2MW Gearless형 풍력발전기(KBP-2000M)의 400:1 축소모델인 5.83kW 모의시험 장치를 제작 완료하였다. (주)플라스포사는 모의시험장치를 이용하여 고효율의 전력변환장치 설계와 인버터 시스템 제어 알고리즘을 개발하였고, (주)유니슨은 2MW 풍력발전기용 통합연동제어 시스템을 제작 완료하여 2009년부터 대관령 실증단지에 초도품을 설치하고 실증운영 중에 있다. 본 논문은 대관령 실증단지에서 실시한 2MW 풍력시스템 실증과정에서 획득한 풍향과 풍속 데이터를 시각적으로 쉽게 보고 이해할 수 있도록 3D모델 처리방안을 적용하여 모의시험 장치에 구현한 내용이다. 풍력발전기 개발은 현재 대형화 추세에 있으며 연구개발 단계에서 풍력발전기의 발전 및 제어부분의 기능적 안정성 확보와 효율성 증대를 위한 적절한 시험은 필수적이다. 그러나 풍력발전기의 특성상 타워를 건설하고 회전자 블레이드를 사용하여 시험한다는 것은 설치 공간과 비용의 제약이 따른다. KBP-2000M (2MW) 모의시험장치는 풍력발전기와 같은 대형장비를 연구 개발하는데 필수적이며, 실증을 통해 획득한 Data를 적용함으로서 재품의 문제점을 찾아내고 성능향상을 도모하는데 필요하다. 실증 Data를 시각적으로 3D로 표현함으로서 현장의 풍속/풍향 변화를 사실감 있게 느끼게 되었다. 앞으로도 풍력발전기를 연구개발하거나 성능향상을 위해서는 적절한 제어와 안전을 위한 연동장치를 갖춘 스케일 다운된 모의시험장치 구축이 요구될 것이다. 풍력발전기의 실증과정에서 획득한 데이터를 모의시험장치에 적용(Feedback)하여 지속적인 성능향상을 높여나갈 것이다.

  • To detect islanding mode when the grid is being tripped is a major safety issue in the Utility Interactive Photo Voltaic (UIPV) system. In this paper, analytical design method is suggested for AFD & RPV method under IEEE 929-2000 recommended islanding test condition. We have discussed that there is a same point. we injected reactive component of the current by AFD & RPV methods, but the current reference generated is other waveform. Possible if amount of reactive components in this methods are same each method, there is happened same rates frequency variation. To verify the validity of the analytical comparison, this paper presents simulation and experimental results from single phase, 3[kW] inverter for the transformerless UIPV system.

  • Development of the distributed energy resources such as photovoltaic, wind, and fuel cell has increased rapidly due to the rising demand for clean energy utilization. On the other hand, the distribution system became complex and has problems such as degradation of power factor and current unbalance caused by power converters, reactive power and unbalanced loads. To solve these problems, this paper proposes a 3-phase 4-leg type power conditioning system with compensation control algorithm for the reactive power and unbalance current in distribution system using photovoltaic resource. It is simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC and the effectiveness is confirmed.
