A Study on the Issues on Moral Rights of Oral History Resource (구술자료의 인격적인 권리에 관한 연구)

  • There are so many personal experiences and innermost feelings in oral history resource. Thus, when we use the oral history resource, it has a lot of the possibility to arise ethical and legal issues. To prevent the problems and to protect interviewee, it is needed to comply the guideline for ethical and legal issues through the oral history project. The ethical issues are applied to every step of the project. The most important principle for ethical issues are the mind to protect the dignity of interviewee. The moral right is classified the right of privacy and defamation issues. The right of privacy is basic human rights to guard for the freedom of the individual. The defamation is defined as a false statement of the fact about a person which tend to injure that person's interest.

A Study on the Perception and Attitude of 'Do Not Resuscitate' in Adults (성인의 심폐소생술 금지(DNR)에 대한 인식 및 태도에 대한 조사 연구)

  • This is a descriptive study on the perception and attitude toward DNR in adults. Structured questionnaires were used and 210 subjects were studied. In recognition of DNR, DNR was helpful for 'a comfortable dying(64.3%)'. The need for DNR in situation investigated 'For dignified dying (41.3%)' and 'to alleviate patient suffering(23.9%)'. Respondents who do not agree with DNR are shown 'Because legal issues can arise(61.7%)', 'Because human dignity is the life-sustaining priority(16.7%)'. In the attitude toward DNR, the most significant result was 'I want to know if I have an incurable disease (4.21).' There was no difference in attitudes toward DNR among adults. The DNR is not a method of Withdrawing in lifeprolonging treatment, It should be addressed in a comprehensive context in which human beings exercise autonomy over the process of dying and death.

Restructuring Axel Honnet's Conception of Morality based on the Theory of Recognition from a Deontological Perspective (악셀 호네트의 인정이론적 도덕 구상의 의무론적 재구조화를 위한 시도)

  • Axel Honneth's recognition-theoretical conception of morality is most often characterized as a teleological or ethical foundation of morality and understood in simple consequentialist sense. Besides teleological or consequentialist components, however, there are obviously Kantian deontological ones too in his moral conception of Recognition. This study is intended to provide a consistent and coherent interpreta-tion of it, which is largely adopting main features of the moral philosophy of Kant. This interpretation makes a deontological restructuring of Honneth's moral conception of recognition necessary. It is in this way that the moral aspect of recognition will be able to satisfy the intention and whole project of Honneth's theory of recognition.

  • Humanism connotes dignity and esteem with the essential idea of human and more human. This paper has conducted a inquiry of the understanding about human and humanism represented by visual image of film. Especially, this study investigated the way to adhere to reflective attitude about human and society. It is based on theoretical discussion of formalism and auteurism and analyzed the way of constructing time-space structure of (by Lars von Trier) which is known the typical formalism film. According to the findings, appeared to appropriate the ocularcentrism aesthetic to film form and give the self-regulation to definite the idea of film art through picturesque imagination of dramatic stage. Such a result means that it converts the filmic time-space to the virtual things and practicalize the classification of the ethical doctrine of innate goodness and innate sin of human and the definition of humanism. Also it means formalism film overturns the existing institutional mode of representation.

Disgust and Domination (혐오와 지배)

  • Disgust is caused by human being incompleteness and also its denial. Therefore the understanding of disgust is concerned with the understanding of humans. Thinking critically about disgust, we can solve the problems of disgust and reflect on our limitations. I will refer to Nussbaum's view which finds out in "projective disgust" an antipathy to human fault and a wish for completeness. This article is interested in the fact that disgust is not only a rejective feeling of a person but also a collective emotion which is connected with an antagonistic relationship and power exercise. Specifically, this article focuses on the point that disgust is mobilized to maintain a dominative relationship between humans. This is associated with the inner characteristics of disgust because disgust in itself contains a one-sided perspective, exclusiveness, hierarchy, and domination. This article aims to reveal a collusion between disgust and domination. For the purpose we will pay attention to two basic inclinations which are immanent in disgust; purity and exclusion, while relying on Nussbaum's view of disgust. In accordance with this analysis, this article will specificity treat disgust which can be summarized as an ideological function of emotion and its violent tendency. Then, we can ensure that disgust threats the equal and dignitary worth of human beings and hinders the diversity and rationality of a liberal society. In addition, it will be emphasized that disgust should not be used as an ideology which discriminates and suppresses a specific group in a society.

Digital Human Empathy Index (DHEI) for the Era of Human-AI Symbiosis (AI와 인간 공생의 시대를 위한 디지털휴먼공감지표 개발)

  • The current AI technology has been developing rapidly enough to realize or even exceed the level of abilities that only humans had in the past. In the near future, it is predicted that humans and AI will influence each other as members of the metaverse society. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of empathy as a core competency for humans to pursue happiness while maintaining the dignity of humans in the era when AI and humans will coexist in the metaverse. In this study, 'Digital Human Empathy Index (DHEI)' is developed that reflects the social nature of computer-mediated communication in the metaverse As a result, DHEI consisted of a total of 7 factors, which are Perspective Taking, Self/Other Awareness, Contextual Understanding of Systemic Barriers, Impact Assessment, Solidarity, Being Peaceful, and Anthropomorphism. This study is expected to contribute to setting the direction of future education by suggesting a new measure of empathy.

Presumed Will of Pause or Stop of Meaningless Life Extension (연명치료중단에 대한 추정적 의사)

  • The Korean supreme court said that Mrs Kim who was in a persistent vegetative state had a right to die if she had a presumed will or assumption of dying against Severance hospital in 2009. Presumed would be vague and can not be subjective to conjecture though, the court had a developed trial on the case. I recommend the higher valued notion such as the 'right to decide on the life extension' is more logical than assumptive will. To achieve this recommendation, I will search right to life, right to decision, human dignity and find the good relationship between them. In conclusion, I will announce that if PVS patients without advanced directives aren't able to express their will and no one could not assume their right to die in spite of meaningless life extension. So only the due and strict procedure about the extinction of meaningless PVS patients will allow them to sacrifice themselves or remove life extension ventilators. Also active euthanasia would be possible under the strict procedure of making advanced directives and the act of helping active euthanasia additionally, the crime of abetting suicide would not be executed in the legal scope.

  • To solve modern social problems, it is important that improve the democratic citizenship quality of people. This quality includes the rational and democratic problem-solving capacity, decision-making capacity, democratic skills and attitudes such as human dignity, dialogue, compromise. To use an educational network simulation game that has the merits of game, simulatio and network will help children to improve the democratic citizenship educaiton. This study explorers the structure, flow, system, database, interface and teaching-learning tool for this educational network simulation game.

Korea-Japan comparative analysis on daily life of the elderly (고령자의 일상생활에 관한 한일 비교)

  • 인구 고령화는 세계적 추세이지만, 특히 한국과 일본은 현저하게 빠른 증가 속도로, 2050년 일본이 세계 1위, 한국이 세계 2위로 전망되고 있다. 본 연구는 한국과 일본의 고령자 일상생활활동의 건강성에 관한 실태와 비교 분석을 통해 사회, 문화 및 노인 인구 증가 속도 등 여러 면에서 우리나라와 유사점을 가지고 있으면서도 노인 문제를 우리보다 약 20년 정도 앞선 경험으로 고령화 대책이 구체적인 일본 노인복지를 통하여 한국 노인 문제에 다양한 시사점을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국과 일본 각각 양국가의 언어로 번역된 설문지를 사용하여, 한일 65세 이상 노인 603명과 267명을 연구대상으로 하였다. 훈련된 연구 조사원들을 통해 일대일 면접 방식으로 한국의 노인복지관과 노인대학과 센터 등에서, 일본의 시니어클럽연합회와 사회복지법인의 자원봉사 그룹, 고령자 생협 소속 노인들에게 조사되었다. 이를 통해, 행복한 노년기를 위한 인간존엄의 근원적 테마로 다양한 시사점을 제시하였다.

  • ''인간의 존엄과 자존을 중시하고, 고객의 만족과 가치를 중시하며, 가족의 행복과 사회에 공헌한다''라는 경영이념 하에서 대상㈜ 중앙연구소는 심화되어 가는 기술경쟁시대에서 발효와 소재 및 전분,당을 기반으로 3대 중점 연구개발 분야를 선정하여 국제 경쟁력 우위의 기술로 육성하고자 1980년 기술연구소를 시작으로 확대 개편을 통해 현재의 경기도 이천으로 95년 이전 했다. 연구기관으로는 식품연구소와 중앙연구소가 있는데 전자는 식품을 가공 처리하여 일반소비자가 소비하는 제품에 관한 연구를 하고 후자는 식품가공회사에서 사용되는 소재의 개발에 관한 연구를 하고 있다. 규모는 대지 $33,919\;m^2$, 건평 $12,347\;m^2$인 지하1층, 지상 3층 건물로 구성되었고 본고에서는 중앙연구소의 조직과 연구업무에 관해 기술하고자 한다. 조직은 바이오연구실, 소재연구실, 전분당연구실 3개실과 연구지원팀으로 이루어져 있으며 총 80여명의 전문연구원들이 지난 50여년간 축적해 온 발효공학기술을 기반으로 발효 미생물의 게노믹스(Genomics) 연구와 이를 응용하기 위한 플랫폼 기술 개발 및 전통식품의 선진과학화에 전념하고 있다. 또한 날로 심각해지는 환경문제를 해결하기 위하여 자연에서 완전히 분해되는 생플라스틱 소재, 기능성 전분 및 당류, 고부가가치 아미노산 유도체 개발에도 집중하고 있다. 이제 각 실에서 추진중인 주요 연구개발 분야에 대해서 알아 본다.
