Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS) is an inherited autosomal-dominant tumor-predisposition disorder caused by germline mutations in the TP53 tumor suppressor gene. Since patients with LFS are likely to develop therapy-related cancers, radiation therapy should be avoided if breast cancer is found in these individuals. Herein, we present a case of secondary breast cancer in an LFS patient after radiation and chemotherapy for the first diagnosed breast sarcoma.

점점 짙어지는 푸르름과 한층 더해가는 더위 속에 어느덧, 캠퍼스에는 여름방학이 시작되었다. 여름방학을 맞이하여 캠퍼스에는 해외 각국의 학생들이 한국을 공부하기 위해, 저마다의 목표를 위해 붐비고 있다. 대학의 국제화 전략과 함께 국제 하계대학 프로그램이 활발하게 이루어지고 있다. 그 중 이화여자대학교의 하계대학프로그램은 1971년 국내 대학 최초로 외국 학생들에게 우리나라의 역사와 문화를 알리기 위한 취지로 시작되었다. 국제화 전략의 중요한 프로그램인 "Summer School"을 이화여자대학교의 운영사례와 현황을 통해 살펴본다.

최근 센서를 이용한 의료 분야로의 유비쿼터스 시스템 및 서비스 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있다. 그러나 의료 분야 서비스의 기본적 전제인 WBAN 환경에서의 기존의 모니터링 시스템은 매우 수동적이다. 이를 개선해 스트림 데이터에 대해 보다 효율적인 모니터링 시스템을 구축하기 위한, 우선 순위를 표현하기 위한 큐(Queue)와 각 속성에 대한 질의로 구성된 레벨 트리(Level Tree)로 이어지는 질의 색인 구조에 대해 논하고자 한다.

Rate constants have been measured spectrophotometrically for the reactions of alkali metal ethoxides (EtOM) with S-p-nitrophenyl 2-thiofuroate (1b) and 2-thiophenethiocarboxylate (2b) in absolute ethanol at 25.0±0.1 ℃. 1b is observed to be more reactive than 2b toward all the EtOM studied. The reactivity of EtOM is in the order EtOK > EtONa > EtO- > EtOLi for both substrates, indicating that K+ and Na+ behave as a catalyst while Li+ acts as an inhibitor in the present system. Equilibrium association constants of alkali metal ions with the transition state (KaTS) have been calculated from the known equilibrium association constants of alkali metal ion with ethoxide ion (Ka) and the rate constants for the reactions of EtOM with 1b and 2b. The catalytic effect (KaTS/Ka) is larger for the reaction of 1b than 2b, and decreases with decreasing the size of the alkali metal ions. Formation of 5-membered chelation at the transition state appears to be responsible for the catalytic effect.

Rate constants have been measured spectrophotometrically for the reactions of p-and m-nitrophenyl 2-thiophenecarboxylate (5a and 5b, respectively) with alkali metal ethoxides (EtO-M+) in absolute ethanol at 25.0±0.1 ℃. The reactivity of EtO-M+ exhibits dependence on the size of alkali metal ions, i.e. the reactivity of EtO-M+ toward 5a decreases in the order EtO-K+ ≥ EtO-Na+ > EtO-Li+ > EtO-, while the one toward 5b does in the order EtO-Na+ ≥ EtO-K+ > EtO-Li+ > EtO-. This result indicates that ion paired EtO-M+ is more reactive than dissociated EtO-, and alkali metal ions form complexes with the substrate more strongly at the transition state than at the ground state. The catalytic effect shown by alkali metal ions appears to be less significant in the reaction of 5 than in the corresponding reaction of 4, indicating that complexation of alkali metal ions with 5 is not as strong as the one with 4.

Second-order rate constants have been measured spectrophotometrically for the reactions of p-nitrophenyl phenylacetate (1) and benzoate (2) with a series of alicyclic amines in H2O containing 20 mole % DMSO at 25.0 ℃. 1 appears to be more reactive than 2 toward all the amines studied, although phenylacetic acid is a weaker acid than benzoic acid. The higher reactivity of 1 can be attributed to resonance and/or steric effect, since the ground state of 2 can be stabilized by resonance and 1 would experience less steric hindrance due to the presence of CH2 group between phenyl and C=O group. The reactivity of the amines increases with increasing their basicity. The Bronsted-type plots for aminolysis of 1 and 2 show good linearity with βnuc values of 0.81 and 0.85, respectively, indicating that the TS structures of the aminolyses of 1 and 2 are similar. Besides, the linear Bronsted plots obtained in the present system clearly suggest that there is no mechanism change for the given series of the amines and the reactions of 1 and 2 proceed in a same mechanism.

본 논문에서는 서로 다른 곳에 구축되어 있는 이기종 가상환경을 네트워크로 연동하고 이러한 환경에서 3D 게임을 지원하기 위한 시스템 설계 및 구현 결과를 제시한다. 각각의 가상환경은 수평-수직-정방형 디스플레이 장비 및 마그네틱-하이브리드 방식의 트랙킹 장비를 이용하여 구축되었다. 제안 시스템에서는 서로 다른 형태의 디스플레이, 트래킹 및 인터랙션 도구로 이루어진 개별 가상환경을 연동함으로써 발생하는 데이터 간의 이질성을 해결하기 위한 뷰 동기화, 인터랙션 동기화 기법 및 사용자 인식 모듈을 제공한다. 또한 별도의 컨트롤 서버를 구축하여 개별 노드간의 동기화를 제공하고 공유 데이터를 효과적으로 관리할 수 있도록 하였다. 개발된 환경 및 시스템에서 "Alice in Virtual World" 라는 1 인칭 슈팅 게임을 수행하여 그 활용 가능성을 입증하였다.

소셜 미디어(social media)가 급속히 발달하고 대중화되면서, 뮤지엄(museum)의 관람객은 시 공간의 제약 없이 뮤지엄의 콘텐츠를 향유하는 동시에, 전통적인 관람객의 역할을 넘어 매개자(mediator), 프로슈머(prosumer), 그리고 크리에이터(creator)로 활동하고 있다. 또한, 뮤지엄도 고유의 업무 수행에 다수 관람객의 참여를 유도하며 관람객과 적극적으로 소통하고 있다. 이러한 흐름 속에, 이화여자대학교박물관에서는 소셜 미디어를 기반으로 사전 설문조사를 진행하여 작품에 대한 설문 참여자의 반응을 수집한 후 이를 바탕으로 큐레이션에 대중의 선호도를 반영하는 '관람객 참여전시'를 개최하였다. 더 나아가 알고리즘 기반 전시 큐레이션 모델도 개발하였는데, 이 모델은 앞의 관람객 참여전시에서 얻은 데이터를 활용하여 컴퓨터가 일반 관람객의 개인적 취향에 부합하는 작품을 자동으로 추천하고, 이를 바탕으로 개별 관람객에게 '개인적으로 최적화된' 전시를 구성할 수 있는 기반을 제공한다. 본 논문은 이러한 이화여자대학교박물관의 최신 전시활동을 소개하며, 초연결, 초지능화의 시대에 관람객들이 뮤지엄에 다양하게 참여하고 함께 소통할 수 있는 방법을 모색하고자 한다.

스마트폰의 보급과 더불어 보안에 관한 관심도 크게 증가되고 다양한 보안 솔루션들이 제안되고 있다. 스마트폰 보안은 스마트폰의 이동성, 메모리 제약, 배터리의 한계, 동시에 실행되는 다른 프로세스들과의 충돌 고려 등의 요인으로 인해 접근하기가 어렵다. 또한 현존하는 스마트폰 방화벽 애플리케이션의 경우 많은 사용자가 불편함을 느끼고 사용을 해제하는 경우가 많다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 스마트폰의 특성과 제약사항을 고려해 방화벽을 살펴보고 스마트폰에 알맞은 방화벽 애플리케이션 모델을 제안하고자 한다.

This study investigates the influential factors for online shoppers to accept the brand extension of Internet companies. We specifically attend to the trustworthiness of vendor which has emerged vital for Internet-based commerce. After case analysis, we conclude that vendor's trustworthiness has more important influence on the successful brand extension on Internet than product similarity does.
