다목적실용위성 1호 Maneuver Mode에서의 지상관제 DATA 분석

  • KOMPSAT-1 AOCS mode divided into three major mode like Sun, Maneuver, Science Mode. The Maneuver mode consist of attitude hold and Δ-V Burn submode. This paper focus on the analysis of AOCS Maneuver Mode characteristics based on on-orbit playback data. The nadir pointing performance of attitude hold submode and the process for Δ-V Burn firing with plus/ minus 90 degree pitch/ roll maneuvering was verified. And also verified that the on-orbit performance meets the AOCS subsystem specification as designed.

  • Recently, linear motors have been widely researched and have been increasingly used in various industrial applications. Especially, permanent magnet linear synchronous motors(PMLSMs) have been getting the spotlight in the transportation system. A PMLSM is structurally simple and has a lot of merits such as high speed, high thrust force, etc. However, in case of a long stator system which arranges armature to the full length of transportation lines, a PMLSM has some disadvantages such as the material cost increase and long manufacturing time. Hence, in order to overcome these problems, the PMLSM with stationary discontinuous armature structure and concentrated windings was proposed. However, this method occurs undesirable cogging force by outlet edge effect. The cogging force causes thrust force ripples and generates noise and vibration. Therefore, in this paper, we proposed installation method of auxiliary pole PMLSM with concentrated winding applying bifurcating in order to reduce cogging force by the outlet edge when the armature is placed in a discontinuous arrangement. Also, we have examined characteristics of outlet edge cogging force using 2-D finite element analysis(FEA).

Numerical Analysis on Plasma Particles inside Electro-magnetic Field Using Particle-in-cell Method (Particle-in-cell 기법을 이용한 전자기장내 플라즈마 입자의 거동 해석)

  • Particle-in-cell method which blends Eulerian grids and Lagrangian particle is utilized to solve simplified hall-effect thruster. Since this study individually tracks not only neutrons and ions but also electrons, message passing interface(mpi) scheme is adopted for parallel computer cluster. Helical movement of an electron cloud in constant magnetic field is validated comparing with an exact solution. A plasma in radial magnetic field and axial electric field in a reaction cylinder is established. Electrons do double helix movement and are well anchored in a cylinder. Ionization of neutrons by impact with high-speed electrons generates ion particles. They are accelerated by axial electric field, which forms a plume of a plasma-effect thruster.

  • This paper include the investigation of finding the system characteristics of facility by simulating open-type turbo-pump fed system, which has commercial control valves, using AMESIM (Advanced Modeling Environment Simulation) commercial software. After developing a flight-type control valve on the basis of the results, the system characteristics of facility for control and valve tests is estimated. Especially, one of purposes of this paper is to find PID value of each commercial control valve in the facility for system test. To find suitable control logic, PI and PID modes are also compared. This paper also introduces design parameters of valve and equipment for thrust control and TDS simulation, which are using control valves.

  • The development of modern warfare detection technology is increasingly threatening the survivability of aircraft. Among them, IR-seeking missiles greatly affect the survivability of aircraft and are a main factor that reduces the success rate of aircraft missions. In order to increase aircraft survivability, studies on shape-modifying nozzles with added curvature are being actively conducted. In this study, we selected a double serpentine nozzle among shape-modifying nozzles to increase aircraft survivability. We then investigated the effects of the location of the maximum area change rate of the nozzle. It was confirmed that the location of the change rate of area affects the thrust and exit temperature of the nozzle. In addition, it was shown that the thrust penalty was reduced as the position of the change rate of the maximum area was located at the rear of the nozzle.

  • At the early stage of the development of high speed propulsion systems, the designers suffer from the lack of both the quantity and the quality of test data. In that situation, the associated uncertainties could not be modeled as probabilistic distribution since probabilistic modelling requires large amount of data. In this paper, instead, the information provided by experts based on their experience and engineering knowledge was used to model uncertainty using the evidence theory. In designing the DCR(Dual Combustion Ramjet) engine, the combustion efficiencies, not well understood and little data existing, are assumed to have been provided by experts. And the uncertainties are quantified by Evidence theory. The quantified uncertainties are incorporated into the optimization. The design variables, area of inlet and area of combustor exit, have been found while satisfying reliability margins of thrust and thermal choking. The results show a reasonable design of the engine under the uncertain circumstances.

  • An analysis has been performed for active thermal control of the KOMPSAT monopropellant rocket engine assembly, i.e., dual thruster module(DTM). The main efforts of this work have been directed at determining proper heater sizes for propellant valves and catalyst beds necessary to maintain their temperatures within specified temperature ranges under KOMPSAT environment and operational conditions. The TAS incorporated with TRASYS thermal radiation analyzer was used to establish a complete heat transfer model which allows to predict the DTM temperature as a function of time. The thermal analysis has been performed in transient mode to verify the appropriate power for catalyst bed heaters necessary to increase catalyst bed temperature to the required value within a specified period of time. Similar analysis has been executed to validate the heater power for the thermostatically controlled primary and redundant heater circuits used to prevent hydrazine freezing, i.e., single fault. Moreover the effect of the radiative property of thermal control coating of heat shield was examined. Thruster firing condition was also simulated for the heat soakback condition. As a consequence, all thermal analysis results for DTM satisfactorily met the thermal requirements for the KOMPSAT DTM under the worst case average voltage, i.e. 25 volt.

Dynamic Characteristics of the Control Valve for LRE using Speed Control Methode (속도제어기법을 이용한 로켓엔진 제어밸브의 동특성)

  • Dynamic characteristics of a control valve, which plays an important role in thrust control of liquid rocket engines, have been analysed by AMESim simulator modeling. A speed control method has been proposed for the control of the valve equipped with a BLDC motor and the performances of this control method have been proved in making a comparison between the predictions of simulation and experimental results. Moreover, it is shown that a control valve with a second pre-filter is enough stable to the flow disturbances. The speed control method for BLDC motor is more simpler than PI gain scheduling method for the application in complex flow system.

Analysis on the Propulsion Force of an Ostraciiform Fish Robot with Elastically Jointed Double Caudal Fins and Effect of Joint Position on the Propulsion Force (탄성 조인트로 연결된 이중 꼬리 지느러미 오스트라키폼 물고기 로봇의 추진력 해석 및 조인트 위치가 추력에 미치는 영향)

  • A simplified linearized dynamic equation for the propulsion force generation of an Ostraciiform fish robot with elastically jointed double caudal fins is derived in this paper. The caudal fin is divided into two segments and connected using an elastic joint. The second part of the caudal fin is actuated passively via the elastic joint connection by the actuation of the first part of it. It is demonstrated that the derived equation can be utilized for the design of effective caudal fins because the equation is given as an explicit form with several physical parameters. A simple Ostraciiform fish robot was designed and fabricated using a microprocessor, a servo motor, and acrylic plastics. Through the experiment with the fish robot, it is demonstrated that the propulsion force generated in the experiment matches well with the proposed equation, and the propulsion speed can be greatly improved using the elastically jointed double fins, improving the average speed more than 80%. Through numerical simulation and frequency domain analysis of the derived dynamic equations, it is concluded that the main reason of the performance improvement is resonance between two parts of the caudal fins.

  • This paper deals with technological and design skills for all pneumatical, hydraulical, mechanical and electrical parts related to control valve. Especially, a variety of dynamic characteristics, which are not easily extracted from field tests using control valves, are studied by system-simulation code, AMESim. The simulated results are also compared and examined with actual testing results in terms of physical dynamic characteristics. In addition, this paper contains the simulated system characteristics including dynamic characteristics in component level of valve itself. Based on the results, it is applied to control system of propellant feeding system in liquid-propellant engine of satellite launcher.
