  • In this paper, new structure of the Cassegrain reflector antenna whose spill-over is efficiently reduced by modified reflectors is proposed for high power. It can be achieved by designing the geometry of subreflector in Cassegrain system using two hyperbolic curves in order to be suitable a lager beamwidth of feeding pattern without broadening main reflector. Finally, radiation efficiency and side lobe level of the proposed Cassegrain reflector antenna can be improved respectively 9 %, 10 dB than conventional one.

  • This paper improves the performance of VAD (Voice Activity Detector) in G.723.1 Annex A 6.3kbps/5.3kbps dual rate speech coder, which is developed for Internet Phone and videoconferencing. The VAD decision is based on a three-level energy threshold. We evaluates for processing time, speech quality, and bit rate. The processing time is reduced due to the accuracy of VAD decision on the silence period. On subjective quality test there is almost no difference compared with the G.723.1. In order to measure the bit rate we count the active speech frame (VAD=1) and we can reduce more bit rate as silence periods are shown.

  • MPEG-4 visual conformance standard specifies methods to verify whether bitstreams and decoders meet the requirements at the specified profile and level. The test of decoders can be divided into two parts: the static test and the dynamic test. The static test can be performed by examining the decoder output with that of a reference decoder. This paper proposes design methods of test bitstreams for static test of texture decoding, and shows the test results.

  • Acousto-optical wavelength tunable optical filters in LiNbO$_3$ have been demonstrated using taperd directional weighted coupling acoustic waveguides and Ti double diffusion technique. Conversion efficiency in excess of 61%, 86% and sidelobe intensity of -14.29㏈, -14.99㏈ were measured at a wavelength of 1551.1nm RF frequency of 173.58MHz and RF power of 35㎽ for both TE and TM input polarizations, respectivelv. A spectral width of ~l.8nm and linear tuning late of 8.6nm/MHz were demonstrated. A 2.82$mutextrm{s}$ switching time has been measured. With two channels with 2.5nmseparation, channel cross-talk was lower than -l4㏈ for single wavelength filtering due to sidelobe.

  • In this paper, a filtered-X LMS algorithm by new error path identification method is proposed for active noise control system. The proposed algorithm identifies accurately the error path transfer function using three microphones and the control of error signal through double loop scheme with on-line. In the computer simulation using the sinusoidal and the practical duct noise, the proposed algorithm reduces noise level about 29.1dB and 10.4dB, respectively. We can observe the improvement of about 0.5dB and 2.5dB in noise level compared with that obtained using the filtered-X LMS algorithm of Eriksson model.

  • A polarized mode convertible, wavelength tunable optical filters with acoustic barriers and acousto-optic effect have been produced in LiNb03 substrate utilizing the Ti double diffusion technique. Polarization conversion in excess of 81 % and a spectral width of -200 kHz (-1.83 nm) were achieved at a wavelength of 1551.6 nm and RF frequencies of 173.07 kHz and 173.05 kHz for both transverse electric (TE) and transverse magnetic (lM) input polarizations, respectively. The electrical driving power was 10.97 mW and reduced to about 10% of one for an optical filter without an acoustic barrier. A linear tuning rate of 8.2 nmlMHz and sidelobe intensity of -4 dB was demonstrated. rated.

  • Security as weel as consistency of data is very important issue in databaed security. This the serializability of transactions must be maintained and particularly covert channel not caesed between a high-level transaction and a low- level one.In this paper, we propose a secure transaction management algorithm using synamic version control] method that can slove disk space overhead to maintain multiversion and the problem that reansactions read too old versions when two versions are maintained.Disk space overhead can be sloved by properly cerating versions and synamically maintaining the number of versions and the problem for reading too old version can be solved by having transactions read versions as recent as possible.

  • This paper describes a new developed 3.3KV/4MW class three-level Voltage Source Inverter(VSI), which is equipped with IIMS(Inverter Information Management System) based on the world wide web and with the Virtual operation simulator. The algorithm for motor control is the stator oriented Direct Torque Control(DTC), which works without speed sensor and gives the physically fastest dynamic response. The IIMS have the functions of operation monitoring and data managements. Virtual operation simulator can analyze and tune the system characteristics without main power. Now, this system is under the field test to verify the confidence.

  • In USA and UK, the standards of both reverberation time and background noise level have been established for the appropriate aural environment in classrooms. In order to realize this, guidelines for architectural planning and interior finishing have been also suggested. However, in Korea, there has hardly been any guidelines for satisfying background noise criteria and investigation about sound insulation performance of current walls of classrooms. The present study investigates the structure of outer wall and walls between classrooms of two middle schools in order to analyze the sound insulation performance against both exterior and interior noises. Acoustic parameters including transmission loss, standardized sound level difference, and signal to noise ratio have been measured and analyzed for sound insulation performance of walls and flanking noises. As a result, concerning the walls in between classrooms, it was found that walls of dry construction have greater sound insulation performance rather than the walls of wet construction especially in mid and high frequency bands. Also, It was revealed that thermopane, insulated pair glass, of outer walls, has greater sound insulation performance than the double window consisted of two single pane glass. Regarding flanking noises, the standards were exceeded when all windows, or windows and doors front onto corridor were opened. It denotes that students could be disturbed with the sound transmission by the interior noises.

  • Movements of the lower limb are important for normal walking and smooth oscillation of the center of gravity. The ankle rotations such as dorsi-flexion, plantar-flexion, inversion and eversion allows the foot to accommodate to ground during level ground walking. Current below knee (B/K) prostheses are used for replacing amputated ankle, and make it possible for amputees to walk again. However, most of amputees with B/K prostheses often experience a loss of terrain adaptability as well as stability because of limited ankle rotation. This study is focused on the development of multi-rotational prosthetic foot for lower limb amputee. Our prosthesis is possible for amputees to easily walk in level ground by rotating ankle joint in sagittal plane and adapt to the abnormal terrain with ankle rotation in coronal plane. The resistance of ankle joint in the direction of dorsi/plantar-flexion can be manually regulated by hydraulic damper with controllable nozzle. Furthermore, double layered rubber induce the prosthesis adapt to irregular ground by tilting itself in direction of eversion and inversion. The experimental results highlights the potential that our prosthesis induce a normal gait for below knee amputee.
