It has become important to have some proper guidelines of how to provide public transport information services in response to the rapid IT developments and the wide spread of public information services. The current study takes a contextual approach to the analysis of public transportation information use under a dynamic decision situation, complementing the conventional cross-sectional approaches. Using the CHAID of decision tree induction based on decision table formalism applied to the survey data of activity travel and information use, the study found that the information type and medium choices are strongly affected by the decision contexts in addition to the individuals' socio-demographic characteristics. The results suggest an important implication to the market segmentation of information services for public transportation.

The study examined the behavior of infant's caregivers using public libraries, measured the level of awareness of infant and toddler services in the library to determine the factors affecting their revisit or recommendation of use to others, and examined the impact of such recognition on the use behavior, revisit and willingness to recommend others. The study surveyed 146 caregivers of infants who use four public libraries in Gwangju Metropolitan City on demographic characteristics, library use behavior, level of awareness of library services, library revisit and recommendation to others. Analysis of this survey shows that the factors that influence the caregivers' revisit of the library or their desire to recommend to others through their caregivers' use of the library are the factors that influence the expansion of information data, the stability of space facilities, the accessibility of space facilities, and the ease of participation in programs among the various service factors provided by the library rather than the personal factors of infants and toddlers' caregivers.

The purpose of this study was to identify the type of health behaviors in Korean adults and to identify related factors. The data used in the analysis was the Korea Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2014., which was representative of the Korean population. Cluster analysis was used to find the pattern of clustering of smoking, drinking, exercising and nutrition. Differences in the pattern of clustering was examined, first by bivariate chi-square test, and then by multinomial logit regression. Lastly, the association between the clusters of health behaviors and other behavioral risk factors was tested by chi-square test and logistic regression. The distribution of the clusters varied not only across socioeconomic characteristics and local size, but also between individuals with certain chronic diseases and those without. The results of this study can be used as a basis for the usefulness of approaching the cluster rather than individually approaching the health behavior.

본 논문은 공무원들의 업무수행과정에 있어서 행정정보이용시 나타나는 특성을 연구하였다. 15개 시ㆍ도 공무원을 대상으로 설문조사한 데이타를 수집, 분석하였다. 행정기관의 공무원들은 문서화일 및 상관의 조언 등을 정보원으로, 정보이용 교육의 필요성은 87.4%가 요구하였다. 정보이용행태에 영향을 미치는 변수로 직급, 경력, 직렬, 직무수행단계 등이 증명되었고, 학력과 연령은 상관관계가 없었다. 효율적 정보관리업무를 수행하기 위한 기초연구로 행정능률 향상을 위해 체계적인 행정정보시스템이 설계되는데 기초자료로서 일조가 되고자 한다.

This research reviews literature regarding information use behavior published during the period of 1970 to 2014 in Korea. It aims to identify the researchers' information use behavior in specialized fields and contributes to provide the effective information services based on users' needs. In order to do that, it reviews research papers that are associated with information use behavior by primarily examining the subjects, methods, variables, results, and suggestions of collected literature. It reveals some differences among researchers according to their fields, career, and status while researchers in various fields make appearance the change of information use up to digital environments. It is suggested that information services based on the users' characteristics should be provided.

With the increase in smartphone ownership and Internet usage using smartphones, the information environment is shifting from the existing PC to the smart mobile. The current undergraduate students are called Generation Z who prefer smartphones to PCs and video contents to texts. This study attempted to understand their usage behaviors of electronic resources in an academic library in a smart mobile environment. This study conducted a usage statistics analysis with 61,433 usage records of e-books, audiobooks, and e-learning contents and 1,595 records of users in the A academic library during 3 years from 2016 to 2018. The scope of the data includes the date of use, the subject, the year of publication, the channel of use, and each user's gender, affiliation, status, admission date, and graduation date. This study investigated not only the general characteristics of electronic resource use, but also the usage behaviors according to the user's demographic characteristics. Based on the findings, this study suggested practical service plans that are applicable in the near future and reflect changing circumstances.

Recently, children's internet search engines are becoming the main method to access information. For those engines to function properly, search behavior of children as their searchers should be studied and the findings be applied to design and improve the systems. So an experiment was conducted and 22 3rd-grade elementary school students performed 3 searching tasks through 'Junior Naver' and 'Yahoo!꾸러기' which are representative children's search engines in Korea. Children's searching behavior was analyzed thoroughly through which the problems of children's search engines were diagnosed and recommendations were suggested to improve them.

The amount of online scholarly information rapidly expands in numerous resources, while user behavior demands single search box interface like Google Scholar. Despite scholarly values of e-resources libraries provide, users consider Google Scholar as the most efficient research tool attracted by its speed, simplicity, ease of use, and convenience. Characteristics of Metasearch System compared with Google Scholar are analyzed from perspectives of the interface and e-resource. Based on usage statistics of Metasearch System along with a link resolver in one academic library, e-resource accessibility patterns and information seeking behaviors of subject-specific areas are investigated for electronic information services.

This study, as a secondary analysis research, bases its source upon on raw data from the on-line survey of the Korean adolescents' health behaviors in 2015. This study was conducted to clarify the relevance of Korean adolescents' smoking with their health behaviors and mental health, and thus further to provide basic sources of effective education for their smoking prevention and for program development. The results of the study showed that Korean adolescents' smoking was significantly affected by the adolescents' sex, grades, school achievements, types of schools, allowances, economic status, parents' educational background (p<0.001). Meanwhile, smoking based on the characteristics of health behaviors was significantly different according to alcohol consuming experience, families' and friends' smoking, physical activity and subjective health status, and BMI (p<0.001). Smoking characterized by mental health showed the significant difference in their stress recognition, subjective sleep patterns, depressed experiences, suicidal ideation, and subjective sense of happiness (p<0.001). Based on all the factors regarding youth smoking, there should be development and provision of educational program for smoking prevention and cessation, including healthy behavior and mental health improvement for Korean adolescent.

The purpose of this study is to conduct a visitor survey which provides demographical characteristics, a profile of the characteristic, travel behavior in different forest trails; Bukhansan trail, Uljin trail, Jirisan trail. Bukhansan trail (second course) is about 3 km and many visitors are nearby residents for the walking. Uljin trail is 80 km, especially conducting visitor reservation guide system and most visitors are 30s and 50s. Jirisan trail is total 209.3 km (a total of 17 courses), networking regional trail routes and was most popular between the ages of 20 and 39. The results showed that Bukhansan trail was used for light walking course, and visitors preferred health related activities. In Uljin trail, visitors expected trekking with nature-based activities and visitors of Jirisan trail seemed to prefer trekking and request more trail's walkability than other trail users.
