User Access and Preferences to Full-text Databases When Searching Individual and Integrated Databases (데이터베이스통합이 유용성과 이용자선호도에 미치는 영향)

  • 본 연구는 분산환경에서 이용자가 다수의 데이터베이스를 개별적으로 검색할 매와 통합적으로 검색할 때에 유용성과 이용자선호도, 이용자 만족도를 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구에는 럿거스대학 School of Communication, Information, and Library Studies에 재학중인 28명의 대학원생들이 참가하였다. 두 시스템에 대한 이용자선호도와 만족도에는 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 많은 참가자들이 통합인터페이스보다 분리인터페이스를 선호하였고, 분리인터페이스의 검색결과에 더 만족하였다. 통합인터페이스의 편리함과 능률성에도 불구하고 참가자들이 분리인터페이스를 선호한 주된 이유중의 하나는 데이터베이스를 이용자 스스로 선택하고 통제할 수 있기 때문인 것으로 나타났다.

Design of the Curation Platform for User-participated Book Recommendation System of Selecting on Alternative Material for the Disabled (대체자료 선정을 위한 이용자 참여형 도서 추천 큐레이션 플랫폼 설계)

  • The purpose of this study is to design and develop a alternative material recommendation system using automatic classification, based on user preference. Details of usage data by users from DREAM was analysed in order to develop the way of a method on selecting proper alternative material, and then the data by user preference were allocated under each category of 10 KDC categories. The keyword, selected from the title of users' usage data from a certain period of time, were divided into 10 subject categories and ranked by the order of frequency of appearance. Books including high frequency of the keyword in title can be selected as a preferred target for producing alternative materials. Lastly, a dynamic linkage for sharing usage data among National Library for the Disabled and other libraries is proposed to produce more proper alternative materials, based on user preference.

  • The study is to explore the ways to design game characters according to the tendency of game users by classifying game users and analyzing the relation between user classes and their preferences towards game characters. The study examines various user classifications based on users' engagement levels, and designs a user questionnaire from them. Based on the result of questionnaire analysis, the study redefines user classes and applies the formal elements of character design to draw on the relationships between user classes and their preferences.

  • The goal of this study is to analyze use patterns of library collections using circulation statistics of academic library user's. For this purpose, the 264,804 circulation-related data of A-academic library which were occurred between March 2012 and February 2013 were collected and used. Five patterns of common user group (undergraduate, graduate students, professors, staffs, the others users) are identified for this study. Gross circulation statistics was analyzed and compared for different users groups and for different subjects. And based on these analysis results, author understood degree of collection use by subject, degree of collection use by user groups, latest materials preference in collection use by subject, latest materials preference in collection use by user groups.

Visual Preference Factor Analysis for the form of bus stop shelter (버스정류장 쉘터 형태의 시각적 선호요인 분석)

  • This research investigated the preference factor which has an effect on the forms of bus stop shelter in order to grasp the visual preference factor, which is necessary for planning and designing of bus stop shelter centering around user, starting with the question of the research regarding that a shelter is preferred by what kind of factor when the environmental conditions are regular. This research examined the relation between visual preference and preference factor which has an effect on it with Multiple Regression Analysis after evaluating visual preference for shelter form by user as applying of scoring system of Interval Scale. The result of the factor analysis by visual evaluation for the form of bus stop shelter through the said research result will have an great effect on the design of bus stop shelter centering around its user. Therefore, this research result will give a knowledge which is necessary for the plan and the installation of bus stop shelter, and contributes to shelter design and bus stop promotion which can maximize the satisfaction of user. As well, concerning the management of bus stop facilities, it will give useful guidelines for planning strategically the shelter management centering around user. In particular, It is estimated that the preference factor analysis by visual evaluation of the mass transportation user in daily life will be the cardinal point for bus stop plan.

Analysis of User Preferences for Developing FRBR-Based Information Search Services (FRBR형 검색서비스 개발을 위한 이용자 선호도 분석)

  • The purposes of this research is designing an FRBR-based information search services based on users' needs and behaviors. Regarding this matter, this study first extensively analysed literature related to the FRBR Model. On that basis, this study categorized foreign cases by application methods of FRBR Model, and identified their characteristics. Also this study analysed how Korean users evaluated the FRBR-based information search services. Afterwards, this study discussed the overall development direction before we develop the FRBR search service in earnest. In those terms, this study selected four types of FRBR-based search services(FictionFinder, AustLit, Perseus Digital Library, Virtua) and analysed each Model's application method. Finally, this study analysed user preference of the categorization using four undergraduate and four postgraduate students of the Department of Library and Information Science.

  • 인터넷접속 시장에서 독점적 지위를 점유하여 왔던 014XY 인터넷접속 서비스 이용자가 ASDL로 전환하는 과정과 그 원인을 규명하고 향후 최저속도를 보장하는 다양한 상품의 ADSL이 출시될 경우 가입자가 선호하는 상품속도별 요금체계를 파악하기 위해 초고속 인터넷접속 서비스 선호도 및 가격감수성을 실증적으로 분석하였다. 분석결과 일반모뎀(주로 56K 모뎀) 이용자들이 ADSL 서비스로 이동하는 이유는 속도가 느리기 때문이며 이동하지 않는 이유는 서비스 이용빈도 및 이용시간이 적기 때문인 것으로 분석되었다. ADSL 이용자들의 경우 접속속도에 대해서는 만족의 비중이 높았지만 요금의 경우 불만족의 비중이 높았다. 그리고 향후 속도를 보장하는 상품이 출시될 경우 시장점유율 상승과 수익성 측면에서 긍정적인 것으로 평가되었다.

Identification of User Preference Factor Using Review Information (리뷰 정보를 활용한 이용자의 선호요인 식별에 관한 연구)

  • This study analyzed the contents of Goodreads review data, which is a social cataloging service with the participation of book users around the world, to identify the preference factors that affect book users' book recommendations in the library information service environment. To understand user preferences from a more detailed point of view, sub-datasets for each rating group, each book, and each user were constructed in the sample selection process. Stratified sampling was also performed based on the result of topic modeling of review text data to include various topics. As a result, a total of 90 preference factors belonging to 7 categories('Content', 'Character', 'Writing', 'Reading', 'Author', 'Story', 'Form') were identified. Also, the general preference factors revealed according to the ratings, as well as the patterns of preference factors revealed in books and users with clear likes and dislikes were identified. The results of this study are expected to contribute to more sophisticated recommendations in future recommendation systems by identifying specific aspects of user preference factors.
