  • This paper examine how CCT affected to writing task performance and EEG through 24 elementary students from in July to September, 2014. The study analyzed EEG that was changed in a task performance under an orange color light and a white color light in a laboratory for stabilization and relaxation. The study results showed that an alpha wave, beta wave, high-beta wave were high under the white color light. The task performance time, however, showed significant fast performance under the orange color light. Although pre-existing low CCT has been considered as typical type for stabilization and relaxation, this study provides that the various applications in the elements of cognition, tasks, and types can affect improvement of task performance and occupation ability.

  • Uniaxial tensile tests of ETFE membrane are performed in this paper. Three kinds ETFE membrane with different thickness are used in the tests. The tensile strength, the tensile strain at break and the stress-strain curve are obtained from the tests. Futhermore, The cycle loading test of ETFE membrane is carried out through using different values of cycle stress. The residual strain, the relaxation of stress and the change of the elastic modulus of foil are investigated. In the creep test, three kinds of temperature (25, 40 and 60 $^{\circ}C$)and three kinds of stress(3,6and9 MPa) are set respectively and the creep time lasts 24 hours.

  • A new finite element formulation based on the relaxation type hereditary integral is presented for a time-domain analysis of isotropic, linear viscoelastic problems. The semi-discrete variational approximation and elastic-viscoelastic correspondence principle are used in the theoretical development of the proposed method. In a time-stepping procedure of final, linear algebraic system equations, only a small additional computation for past history is required since the equivalent stiffness matrix is constant. The viscoelasticity matrices are derived and the stress computation algorithm is given in matrix form. The effect of time increment and Gauss point numbers on the numerical accuracy is examined. Two dimensional numerical examples of plane strain and plane stress are solved and compared with the analytical solutions to demonstrate the versatility and accuracy of the present method.

  • T1, T2 relaxation time and relaxation rates were measured and analyzed according to the change of RF coil channel number of MAGiC sequence. T1, T2, R1 and R2 maps were obtained by using MAGiC sequence with phantom (1.0, 0.6, 0.2, 0 mM) on the RF coil with channel number of 1, 8, 16 and 32 respectively. T1, T2, R1, R2 values and relaxation rates were measured for each channel number and concentration, and Relaxivity was calculated according to each concentration. T1, T2, R1, and R2 values were measured in each coil. There was no significant difference between T1 and R1 values (p> 0.05). However, T2 and R2 values were significantly different (p <0.05). In the post-analysis results, T2 value was significantly different from that measured on 1, 8, 16, and 32 channel coils (p <0.05) and There was no difference between 8, 16, and 32 channel coils (p> 0.05). The R2 value was significantly different from that measured on the 8, 16, and 32 channel coils in the 1 channel coil, and the results on the 8 channel coils and the 16 channel coils showed a significant difference (P <0.05). In conclusion, T1 and R1 values were not significantly different according to the number of channels in the coil, but T2 and R2 values were significantly different. Therefore, when quantitative measurement of T2 and R2 values using the MAGiC sequence, the same number of coils should be used for reproducibility.

  • A numerical analysis has been performed through implicit dynamic finite element analysis using the commercial package, ABAQUS in order to investigate effect of laser peening on welding residual stress mitigation of dissimilar metal welds in a safety injection nozzle of integral reactor. The implicit dynamic finite element analysis are compared with the previous experimental results. By comparison, it is identified that the implicit dynamic finite element analysis is valid for residual stress mitigation via laser peening. Implicit static finite element residual stress analysis has been performed for the dissimilar metal welds subject to inner repair welding. The analysis results represent that both axial and hoop residual stresses are tensile on inner surface of safety injection nozzle due to inner repair welding. Also Parametric study has performed to investigate effect of laser peening variables such as maximum impact pressure, duration time of pressure, spot diameter and peening direction on the welding residual stress mitigation. As a result, it is found that laser peening has the preventive maintenance effect to mitigate mainly residual stresses of region near inner surface.

  • A single frequency strain mode test, a stress relaxation mode test, and a creep test using RH-DMA were performed to investigate the effects of relative humidity and temperature on the viscous properties of PET film. The relative humidity was 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90%. The temperature was considered to be 30~95℃ for single frequency strain mode tests, 30℃ and 70℃ for stress relaxation mode test, and 5~95℃ for creep test. According to the results, higher relative humidity results in lower storage modulus and loss modulus, but the maximum value of the loss modulus is not significantly affected by changes in relative humidity and is almost constant. Relaxation modulus decreases rapidly at the beginning and becomes constant, and as the temperature increases, it is susceptible to changes in relative humidity. Strain recovery also increases rapidly at the beginning and is susceptible to changes in relative humidity as the temperature increases. In addition, as the temperature increases, the degree of increase in creep compliance increases, and as the temperature rises above the glass transfer temperature, the degree of increase becomes very large. The master curve determined by the time-temperature superposition provides the information to predict the long-term performance under operating conditions such as relative humidity and temperature.

  • ATP-sensitive $K^+$ channels $(K_{ATP})$ are expressed in vascular smooth muscle cells, skeletal muscle cells, pancreatic ${\beta}$ cells, neurons and epithelial cells. $K_{ATP}$ contributes to regulate membrane potential to control vascular tone, to protect myocardial ischemia, and to regulate insulin secretion in pancreatic ${\beta}$ cells. We previously demonstrated that ginseng saponins and ginsenoside $Rg_3$ activated maxi $Ca^{2+}-activated\;K^+$ channel, and this might cause vasodilation. Because $K_{ATP}$ plays an important roles to regulate the resting membrane potential in vascular smooth muscle cells, we investigated whether ginsenoside $Rg_3$ produces vasodilation by activating $K_{ATP}$ We showed in this study that $K_{ATP}$ is expressed in rabbit coronary artery smooth muscle cells. $K_{ATP}$ was inwardly rectifying and was inhibited by intemal application of ATP. Micromolar minoxidil activated, but glyburide inhibited the activity of $K_{ATP}$ Ginsenoside $Rg_3$ relieved inactivaiton of whole-cell $K_{ATP}$ current without affecting the peak amplitude of $K_{ATP}$ currents presumably due to more opening of the channels.

  • Relaxin has been demonstrated to have regulatory functions on both the smooth muscle and extracellular matrix (ECM) of blood vessels and fibrotic organs. The diverse mechanisms by which relaxin acts on small resistance arteries and fibrotic organs, including the bladder, are reviewed here. Relaxin induces vasodilation by inhibiting the contractility of vascular smooth muscles and by increasing the passive compliance of vessel walls through the reduction of ECM components, such as collagen. The primary cellular mechanism whereby relaxin induces arterial vasodilation is mediated by the endothelium-dependent production of nitric oxide (NO) through the activation of RXFP1/PI3K, Akt phosphorylation, and eNOS. In addition, relaxin triggers different alternative pathways to enhance the vasodilation of renal and mesenteric arteries. In small renal arteries, relaxin stimulates the activation of the endothelial MMPs and EtB receptors and the production of VEGF and PlGF to inhibit myogenic contractility and collagen deposition, thereby bringing about vasodilation. Conversely, in small mesenteric arteries, relaxin augments bradykinin (BK)-evoked relaxation in a time-dependent manner. Whereas the rapid enhancement of the BK-mediated relaxation is dependent on IKCa channels and subsequent EDH induction, the sustained relaxation due to BK depends on COX activation and PGI2. The anti-fibrotic effects of relaxin are mediated by inhibiting the invasion of inflammatory immune cells, the endothelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EndMT), and the differentiation and activation of myofibroblasts. Relaxin also activates the NOS/NO/cGMP/PKG-1 pathways in myofibroblasts to suppress the TGF-β1-induced activation of ERK1/2 and Smad2/3 signaling and deposition of ECM collagen.

  • This paper deals with the stress singularity induced at the interface corner between the elastic substrate and the viscoelastic thin film as the polymeric film absorbs moisture from the ambient environment. The boundary element method is employed to investigate the behavior of interface stresses. The order of the singularity is obtained numerically for a given viscoelastic model. It is shown that the stress singularity factor is relaxed with time, while the order of the singularity increases with time for the viscoelastic model considered.
