  • Magical realism, blooming and improving in Latin America, opened the new vision about reality and rationalism, coming out from the out-styled frame of past. While having common points with unrealistic literature, which uses fantastical components, magical realism is different from Surrealism and fantasy literature that is focusing on reality and realizing reality intensely. In the early stage of this research, magical realism was restricted by the characteristics of literature of Latin America, but the research of magical realism is expanding in planning Post-Modernism nowadays. Lately, the influence of magical realism is identified in literatures, arts, films, and animations over the world; according to the research, however, research about magical realism in animations was not done in Korea before. A Korean independent animation "A coffee vending machine and its sword" was evaluated positively in many international film festivals is valuable as the research of magical realism. Throughout this study, this animation "A coffee vending machine and its sword" was analyzed by its narrative and images. The analysis of narrative consists two parts. One is about the form of narrative and the other is about contents through the story. Analysis of Image is also divided into two parts: background image and character image. In this animation, the protagonist is narrating about the fantastic accidents in his life and his own feelings towards it. The narration leads audience to understand his situation and feelings in meta-fiction. On the surface, audience watches the love story of a normal girl and coffee vending machine in this artwork, but deep inside the animation, it is visible that the directors tried to make audiences think about the life of 880,000-won Generation in Korea. The background image was represented as real places in Seoul including the landmark of Seoul, making mimesis of reality in Korea. The character image has two conflicting aspects with reincarnated warrior, Jinyoungyoung and a coffee vending machine. It is a hybrid-character transmogrifying between two characters. Likewise, "A coffee vending machine and its sword" has the characteristics of Korean magical realism through form, content and image. Through analyzing the Korean independent animation "A coffee vending machine and its sword", this research tried to find a way of using factors of fantasy, of representing reality as a dramatic device and of using magical realism of Korean animation for bond of sympathy with audience.

  • We are surrounded by so many images these days. These images have their own meanings and have an effect on our subject, whether consciously or unconsciously. Michel Foucault disclosed that upon closer examination the rationalism deeply rooted in Western society was not made autonomously but involuntarily by heteronomous power. Because the emotion of image within this relationship can be effectively conveyed just through its being seen, the image has been used for controlling and mustering people through the adjustment of its meaning by power. With the advance of technology and media of today, the image in this visual power is out of the object for reproduction, and then forms a new paradigm of manipulation, transformation and reproduction and is being changed to the formation of Panopticon power and its corresponding relationship.

  • This study aims to answer the following three questions: 1) What is "jeitinho" in Brazil and its historical roots, 2) What are similarities and differences between "jeitinho" and nepotism in Korea, and 3) Considering the nation-wide prevalence of "jeitinho" in Brazil as a desirable way of thinking and acting, how can Korean firms in Brazil effectively manage cultural differences between Brazil and Korea? To answer these questions, this study reviews previous research on "jeitinho" and nepotism and systematically compare them from a theoretical perspective. After that, the comparison results are further discussed in the context of Korean firms in Brazil, suggesting how the Brazilian and Korean culture can be successfully integrated to boost performance.

  • The modern contains many problems that cannot be solved by the reductionism based on western natual science. Up until now, it has been formed determinism over the basis of empiricism or rationalism, this can be called a mechanical view of the world. In the field of natural science since 20C, however, raised the standard of revolt in traditional determinism, plural theory headed up. Consequently, in the name of post modernity, western reason became to deconstruct, further, new theory came to need. This new paradigm also affected design, and was studied to overcome the limitation of modern design.

  • 본 연구는 조선조로부터 오늘에 이르는 혼례의 변천을 문헌을 통해 고찰하여, 그 특징을논의하고, 이를 토대로 바람직한 전통혼례의 창조적인 방안을 모색하고자 하는데 그 목적을 두었다. 혼례에 관한 선행연구와 문헌자료들을 고찰하고 내용을 분석하는 방법을 취하였다. 특히 조선조는 우리의 전통혼례규범이 점차 형성되던 시기이므로 전통혼례의 창조적인 계승방안을 위한 본 연구 논문의 목적을 달성하기 위해 그 시기 이후로부터의 변천과정을 살펴보기로 범위를 제하하였다. 전통혼례의 창조적.계승방안으로는 첫째, 전통혼례의 의미 와 절차에 대한 올바른 인식이 요구되며, 그를 위한 지속적인 교육이기대된다. 둘째는 혼례시 물질주의와 배금주의 사상의 팽배로 인한 허례허식과 지나친 상업주의와의 결합에 의한 반사회적물이성적 의례가 되지 않도록 해야할 것이다. 세째는, 전통혼례에 대한 민족적 자긍심 을 갖도록 해야할 것이라는 점이다.

  • 초현실주의 운동이 일러스트레이션 분야에 끼친 영향은 미술사의 그 어떠한 운동보다 강하다. 일러스트레이션에 현대 사람들이 요구하는 풍부한 감성, 상상력, 표현의 목적에 잘 부합하는 이유에서이다. 오토마티즘은 외적인 자극과는 무관하게 이성의 통제가 없이 인간 내면의 목소리를 옮겨 표현하는 기법이다. 이렇게 표출된 선과 형태, 또는 말과 글은 자연히 인간의 무의식 세계를 반영하고 보는 사람에게 있어서 또 다른 나의 실존을 느끼게 한다. 오토마티즘은 무의식의 권리를 밝혀내고자 하는 초현실주의 회화의 가장 중요한 대명사이다. 초현실주의의 창의적 작품세계로 당대에 강렬한 영향을 미친 호안미로의 작품에 나타난 오토마티즘적 요소를 분석하고, 이 기법이 현대 일러스트레이션에 어떻게 적용되었는지 발견해 보고자 한다.

A Comparative Study on Spiritual Humanism in Daesoon Thought (대순사상의 영성인본주의 비교연구)

  • This comparative study combines the methodologies of comparative research and literature review to examine Daesoon Thought. Comparative religious analysis in the social sciences, does not presuppose an a priori framework of the essence of religion because it targets various aspects of religion which are revealed within a historical field. However, it does not decompose and return to psychological or social phenomena like social sciences. In addition, with the emergence of religious pluralism, the climate of focusing on similarities between religions has already been accomplished to some degree. Furthermore, it is worth noting that many spiritual movements in modern spirituality reveal mixed or amorphous characteristics without being restricted by specific religious membership. It is time to overcome instrumentation and restore the transcendence of its original appearance even in secular humanist reasoning. It can be said that this reveals the perception that the ills and crises of modern civilization should be overcome in connection with the opening of the acquired world of Daesoon Thought. It could further be said that the main culprit of evil behavior is instrumental reason or degenerated reason rather than spirituality. Religion is the intellectual crystalline body of humankind and aims at human perfection and salvation. However, extremists in previous times amplified conflicts between religions and formed ideas suitable for their specific regions through different experiences. This generated mental rifts that proved greatly influential. At the time of initial inception, each religion confronted and fought other ideologies, but when the era of religious pluralism began, the necessity for inter-spiritual communication became urgent. It could be said that happiness is the realization of human spirituality by exploring the vision of humanism. In that case, the combined methodologies of comparative research and literature review reveal that the spirituality of Daesoon Thought would enable a humanism based on human dignity. This would be a path for seeking spirituality through human life and living as a true human being. Spiritual humanism as discussed through this study aims to share the problems of modern civilization and provide a critical view of modern civilization that shows the roots of prevailing thought are stuck in a Cartesian dualistic view of humanity and the world. The type of spiritual humanism to examined here focuses on a cosmotheandric vision by considering the spiritual return to Daoism via Daesoon Thought. This would treat human beings like heaven in alignment with Donghak ideology and honor the human dignity proposed by Daesoon Thought. It would also deliver sentient beings from suffering and to bliss in accordance with the aims of faith in Maitreya Buddha, and it would implement the Resolution of Grievances for Mutual Beneficence in fulfillment of Daesoon Thought.

The Trinitarian Principles of Christian Education: Based on the Reaction of Neo-Orthodox Theology against Postmodern Challenges (기독교교육의 삼위일체적 원리 - 포스트모더니즘에 대한 신정통주의의 대응을 기반으로)

  • This study analyzes the Trinitarian principles of Christian education through the neo-orthodox theology of Karl Barth, Reinhold Niebuhr, and Paul Tillich in the current era of postmodernism. Both neo-orthodoxy and postmodernism react against the epistemological ideals of modernity. Postmodernism is based on a limited human point of view, and thus becomes a captive to its own subjectivity, producing two main characteristics - pluralism and relativism. Since neo-orthodoxy appeared as a reaction against human-centered modernity, critical analysis of neo-orthodox theology can give insights to cope with the challenges of postmodernism in Christian education today. Thus, this study bases its argument critically on the thoughts of neo-orthodox theologians such as Karl Barth, Reinhold Niebuhr, and Paul Tillich, since they responded to the challenges of enlightenment through rediscovering fundamental theological principles. First of all, this study examined the meaning of God's creation and the fall and provided the principle of theistic relativism. Secondly, this study explored educational insights from Jesus' crucifixion, through His work of redemption, liberation, and restoration and suggests an incarnated relationship building. Thirdly, the study analyzed the caring and comforting work of the Holy Spirit and emphasized the power of the Holy Spirit that heals corrupted human reason and enables loving relationships.

한.중.일 역사문화경관 비교를 통한 상상적 환경 복원

  • 본 연구는 서양의 과학적 합리적 이성주의에 대한 단절된 동양문화의 상징적 사유체계에 내재된 상상적 환경을 복원하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 상상적 환경을 복원하기 위해 한국 중국 일본의 고대도시인 서울, 북경(北京), 교토(京都) 등을 사례대상지로 선정하였다. 이들 사례도시의 역사 문화경관을 분석하여 상상적 환경요소를 도출하고자 해석학과 현상학적 접근방법을 활용하였다. 동북아시아 삼국(한 중 일)의 역사문화경관 비교와 재해석을 통해 그 속에서 내재된 상상적 환경을 도출한 결과, 각 도시에 내재된 장소의 정신과 자연환경요소가 인문환경요소로 반영되어 구조화되었으며, 개별요소들이 결합하여 조직화되었고, 점진적으로 장소(場所)의 혼(魂)은 더욱 성화(聖化)되었다. 본 연구는 인간생활의 실존적(實存的) 장(場)인 도시공간을 상상적 환경이라는 새로운 개념으로 비교분석한 최초의 시도로서 의의를 가진다. 그러나 동북아시아 삼국의 역사문화경관에 내재된 상상적 환경의 보편성을 확인한 것은 의미가 있으나, 각 도시별 세부적인 요소에 이르기까지 특수성을 밝히는 데는 한계가 있었다.
