A five-period teaching-learning plan covering issues including safe, considerate and responsible sex was developed using the storytelling technique for 134 first-year students in 4 classes. 134 questionnaires were administrated through pre-and post-test and 38 worksheets applying a variety of storytelling activities were analyzed using content analysis. Students were found to have gained a more positive outlook on relationships and a considerate attitude towards others in sex. There was also a significant increase in items considering safe sex, including perceptions on contraception methods and selection of safe contraception methods. The students' sense of sexual responsibility was also enhanced. • This survey research investigates the relationship in adolescent attitudes toward sexual consciousness and intimate relationships according to their exposure to internet pornography. The results of the study indicated that 57.1% of the participants have experienced contact with internet pornography with most participants (48.7%) having first encountered internet pornography while in fourth, fifth or sixth grade. As students progress in school, their exposure to the internet increases thus increasing their potential to be exposed to pornography. Adolescents with no experience encountering internet pornography had a more positive attitude towards sexual consciousness, while adolescents with experience encountering pornography had more uninhibited libidos and were more open to romantic relationships. From the results above, there is a need for preventative measures against problematic behavior stemming from the influences of direct and indirect pornographic exposure on adolescent attitudes towards sexual consciousness and intimate relationships. Mental health services need to be provided for high risk adolescents addicted to pornography like mental health schools or help from specialists.

  • The purpose of this study is to explore gender differences in elderly's dating experience and related variables. 427 elderly of age 65 or older participated. The results are as follows. 1. 80% of widowed elderly had no dating experience, and far more elderly men than women had dating experience. 2. Attitudes towards dating, of both elderly themselves and their children, had influence on the elderly's dating experience, regardless of gender. This indicates that the elderly's own acceptance and their children's positive attitude are important to the elderly's dating experience. 3. Gender differences were found in influences of living arrangement (whether they lived with their children or not), economical reasons, and personality factors. These variables proved significant only for the elderly men. More elderly men who did not live with their children than the elderly men who did had experienced dating, and economical reasons along with personality factors proved to be obstructive for elderly men's dating life.
