The Effect of Emotional Clarity on Satisfaction in Romantic Relationships: Mediation of Acceptance (정서인식 명확성이 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 영향: 수용의 매개효과)

  • The present study was aimed to verify the mediating effect of acceptance in the relationship between emotional clarity and satisfaction in romantic relationships. To this purpose, a self-reporting survey was conducted with 208 unmarried subjects ranging in age from 19-35 in Seoul and Gyeonggi region. SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 21.0 was used to analysis procedure. A summary of the research results are as follows. First, in the results of the correlation analysis on the primary factors, emotional clarity had a significant positive correlation with acceptance and satisfaction in romantic relationships, and acceptance had a positive correlation with satisfaction in romantic relationships. Second, the results of the structural equation analysis verified that emotional clarity had a direct positive effect on satisfaction in romantic relationships. Third, this study verified a partial positive mediating effect of acceptance in the relationship between emotional clarity and satisfaction in romantic relationships, and also verified the significance of the pathway. These results verify that emotional clarity has not only a direct effect on satisfaction in romantic relationships, but also an indirect effect through acceptance. Lastly, this study discussed significance and limitations of this study, as well as proposals for future research.

The Effects of Psychological Separation from Parents on Conflict Solving Strategies for Dating Relationship and Relationship Satisfaction among Male and Female University Students (남녀 대학생의 부모로부터의 심리적 독립이 이성관계에서의 갈등해결전략 및 이성관계만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the influence of university students' psychological separation from their parents on conflict solving strategies for dating relationships and on relationship satisfaction. The participants were 231 university students. The results were as follows. Firstly, male students were more psychologically separated from their mothers than female students. When living with parents, students were more psychologically separated from their fathers than their mothers. Secondly, the more independent students were from psychological conflict with their mothers, the less negative strategies they used in conflicts during dating. The closer female students were with their mothers, the more positive conflict solving strategies they used. Thirdly, the students who were freer from conflict with their mothers experienced higher satisfaction with emotional communication when dating. In conclusion, psychological separation from parents was confirmed to be a variable influencing both the effective use of the conflict solving strategies and dating relationship satisfaction.

Effects of Change of Social Relations Due to COVID-19 on Life Satisfaction and Mediating Effect of Leisure Satisfaction of Older People (코로나19로 인한 사회관계 변화가 노인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향과 여가만족도의 매개효과)

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of change of social relations due to COVID-19 on life satisfaction and to examine mediating effect of leisure satisfaction in the relationship between change of social relations due to COVID-19 and life satisfaction of older people. This study utilized 2021 Social Survey data and 7,203 older persons aged over 65 years were analyzed. Multiple regression analyses were used for the analyses and significance of mediating effect was tested using bootstrapping methods. Study findings showed that change of social relations due to COVID-19 had a significant effect on life satisfaction of older people. That is, those who experienced increasing distance from neighbors and friends reported lower level of life satisfaction. Also, leisure satisfaction partially mediated the effects of change of social relations due to COVID-19 on life satisfaction. Results of this study suggest that various interventions are needed to prevent a decrease of quality of life of older people in times during which social distancing can be necessary like COVID-19 pandemic.

Effects of Body-Cathexis and Importance of Meeting the Ideal Body Image on Clothing Style Preferences (의복스타일 선호에 신체만족도와 이성적인 신체이미지의 중요성이 미치는 영향 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of body-cathexis and importance of meeting the ideal cody image on clothing style preferences. Body-cathexis and importance of meeting the ideal body image were measured for five areas of body parts: head/upper body, lower body, height, weight and torso. Clothing style preferences consisted of clothing preferences for sexy styles, waist emphasis, tight fit, and dark colors. The results showed that there were significant effects of body-cathexis and importance of meeting the ideal body image on clothing style preferences.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the user satisfaction, royalty and compliant of a children's library Website. To achieve the aim of this study a modified Kim and Park's model of the user satisfaction index which consists of information quality, service quality, and system quality dimension is adopted. A total of 130 valid responses to the questionnaire were analysed using SPSS 18. It is found that the higher the user satisfaction gives the higher the royalty and the lower the compliant. For the contents quality dimension, the items of Usability, Accuracy, Easy of understand, Reliability and Up-to-date; for the service quality dimension, the items of Interface design, Reliability, Responsiveness, and Empathy; for the system quality dimension, the items of Response time, Interactive, Easy to access, and Easy to use show a significant relationships to the users' satisfaction.

Effect of Primary Triad Experience on Self-Esteem and Dating Relationship Satisfaction among College Students (대학생이 지각한 원가족 삼인군 경험이 자아존중감 및 이성관계 만족도에 미치는 영향)

  • The major purpose of this study was to investigate the causal effect of the primary triad experiences on dating relationship satisfaction through self-esteem among college students. The primary triad experiences were composed of the parents' differentiation level of couple relationship and the parent-child relationship including family rule, triangulation and communication. Dating relationship satisfaction included such subscales as problem-solving communication, global satisfaction, affection communication and time together. The study data were collected from 382 college students by using self-administered questionnaire method. The results showed that parents' differentiation was positively correlated with self-esteem and all components of dating relationship satisfaction and that family rule was negatively associated only with problem-solving communication. Triangulation was negatively related with most components of dating relationship satisfaction and self-esteem, while parent-child communication showed positive correlations with the same variables. Path analysis results showed that self-esteem mediated the effect of most variables of primary triad experiences on dating relationship satisfaction. In addition, variables of the primary triad experience had direct influences on most components of dating relationship satisfaction. Self-esteem was found to be the most powerful variable influencing dating relationship satisfaction. The findings of the study were discussed in terms of pre-marital education and counseling.

The Effect of Television Romance Drama on Viewers' Fantasy of Idealistic Marriage (로맨스 드라마 시청이 결혼에 대한 환상에 미치는 영향 - 한국과 중국의 로맨스 드라마 시청 비교 -)

  • Increasing rate of late or deferred marriage in our society may have been inferred from alleged contribution of media use on people's idealistic expectations about marriage. This study examined the relationship between Korean-Chinese romance drama viewing and various sub-concepts of idealistic fantasy about marriage. Results from survey analysis indicate that although romance drama viewing has a positive association with life satisfaction, it was positively associated with various aspects of idealistic marriage fantasy (i.e., less materialism in marriage, more belief in love at first sight, and more unrealistic expectations on marriage). Further, differential cultivation effects of Korea and Chinese romance dramas were discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of character strengths and communication types on the interpersonal relationship satisfaction among university students and to presents basic data for helping healthy University Life. A survey was held to the university students in Seoul and Chungcheong cities from May 7 to 28, 2018. 204 copies were in the final analysis for data analysis, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's Correlation Coefficient and Multiple regression was used. As a result, the factors of affecting on the interpersonal relationship satisfaction were followed by intellectual character strengths, emotional character strengths, communication types and the presence of a heterosexual friend. The multiple regression explanatory power was 45percent of the total changes in interpersonal satisfaction. Therefore, this study could be used as a basic for the development of communication education programs to increase interpersonal satisfaction among university students. It will also be useful as a basic data for the development of counseling programs that enhance self-awareness of character strengths.

Correlation Between Public Library Service User Satisfaction and Loyalty and Moderator Variables (공공도서관 서비스이용자 만족도와 충성도의 상관관계분석 및 매개변수)

  • According to the results from the recent research in Business field, the correlation between customer satisfaction and customer loyalty is not strong. Based on this understanding, the first purpose of this study was to investigate the correlation between public library service user satisfaction and public library service user loyalty. To achieve this purpose, the study conducted a survey of 240 public library users. The findings of this study are 1) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service user loyalty' exists. However the strength of the correlation is moderate, 2) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service users' intention to use new library services' is the weakest among the variables of 'public library service user loyalty', and 3) the correlation between 'public library service user satisfaction' and 'public library service users' intention to recommend library services to others is the strongest among the variables of 'public library service user loyalty'. The second purpose of this study was to find the moderator variables between public library service user satisfaction and public library service user loyalty. According to the study results, the following moderate variables are found: 1) physical accessibility, 2) lack of diversity in library service, 3) car-parking issues, 4) lack of diversity and recency in collections, and 5) lack of convenience in facilities.
