Most Appropriate Image Selection method for Color Extraction in Immersive modeling (실감 모델링을 위한 색 추출 기법에서 적합한 이미지 선정 방법 연구)

  • 반짝이는 특성의 물체에 대해 이미지를 기반으로 색을 추출하는 경우 반짝이는 특성을 포함하면서 내재되어 있는 색 특성을 표현하기 위해 색 곡선(color line)을 이용한다. 이 경우 추출하려는 색이 왜곡되지 않은 가장 적합한 이미지를 선정하는 방법이 필요하다. 이를 위해서 실감모델링을 위해 색 곡선을 기반으로 색을 추출하는 방법을 제시하고 제시된 방법을 위해 색을 추출하기 가장 적합한 이미지를 선정하는 기준을 색포화율(color saturation ratio)을 통해 제안한다. 색포화율이란 색을 구성하는 요소 중에서 최소한 하나 이상의 색이 포화된 픽셀들을 최대 색거리를 가진 픽셀들로 간주하여 계산된 색거리의 총합에 대해 최소한 하나 이상의 색이 포화된 픽셀들의 색거리 총합의 비율를 의미한다. 이상적으로 이 비율이 최소가 되면 하이라이트를 제외한 어떤 픽셀도 포화되지 않기 때문에 반짝이는 특성을 가진 물체의 색을 추출하기 위해 촬영된 이미지는 하이라이트를 제외한 모든 색이 왜곡되지 않은 가장 적합한 이미지가 생성된다. 또한, 이렇게 선정된 이미지에서 추출된 색의 효율성을 보이기 위해 색 공간과 이미지 상에서 다양한 형태의 응용 결과를 제시하였다.

Robust Outlier-Object Detection in Image Pairs Based on Variable Threshold Using Empirical Correction Constant (실험적 교정상수를 사용한 가변문턱값에 기초한 영상 쌍에서의 강인한 이상 물체 검출)

  • By calculating the differences between two images, which are captured with the same scene at different time, we can detect a set of outliers, such as occluding objects due to moving vehicles. To reduce the influence from the different intensity properties of the images, a simple technique that reruns the regression, which is based on the polynomial regression model, is employed. For a robust detection of outliers, the image difference is normalized by the noise variance. Hence, an accurate estimate of the noise variance is very important. In this paper, using an empirically obtained correction constant is proposed. Numerical analysis using both synthetic and real images are also shown in this paper to show the robust performance of the detection algorithm.

Velocity Pairing in Motion Estimation using Periodogram (Periodogram을 이용한 움직임 추정에서의 속도 Pairing)

  • A fast multiple object motion detection method using periodogram has been proposed. Each frame is projected to vertical and horizontal directions, and then temporal FFT is applied. A line in two dimensional frequency domain indicates velocity. To estimate the velocity of an object, we intergrate along a line which passes through the origin in frequency domain. If a frame contains multiple moving objects, multiple peaks are detected corresponding to the velocity of each object. After pairing these peaks, we can determine the velocities of an object. In the proposal method we can easily pair horizontal and vertical velocity components efficiently with simple computation by combining projections in 45$^{\circ}$ and 135 $^{\circ}$ directions in addition to the vertical and horizontal direction.

  • A method to measure the speed and distance of moving object is proposed using the stereo vision system. One of the most important factors for measuring the speed and distance of moving object is the accuracy of object tracking. Accordingly, the background image algorithm is adopted to track the rapidly moving object and the local opening operator algorithm is used to remove the shadow and noise of object. The extraction efficiency of moving object is improved by using the adaptive threshold algorithm independent to variation of brightness. Since the left and right central points are compensated, the more exact speed and distance of object can be measured. Using the background image algorithm and local opening operator algorithm, the computational processes are reduced and it is possible to achieve the real-time processing of the speed and distance of moving object. The simulation results show that background image algorithm can track the moving object more rapidly than any other algorithm. The application of adaptive threshold algorithm improved the extraction efficiency of the target by reducing the candidate areas. Since the central point of the target is compensated by using the binocular parallax, the error of measurement for the speed and distance of moving object is reduced. The error rate of measurement for the distance from the stereo camera to moving object and for the speed of moving object are 2.68% and 3.32%, respectively.

  • In this paper we address the tracking method which tracks only target object in image sequence including moving object. We use a contour tracking algorithm based on intensity and motion boundaries. The motion of the moving object contour in the image is assumed to be well describable by an affine motion model with a translation, a change in scale and a rotation. The moving object contour is represented by B-spline, the position and motion of which is estimated along the image sequence. we use pattern recognition to identify target object. In order to use linear Kalman Filters we decompose the estimation process into two filters. One is estimating the affine motion parameters and the other the shape of moving object contour. In some experiments with dial plate we show that this method enables us to obtain the robust motion estimates and tracking trajectories even in case of including obstructive object.

  • Various methods have been studying to maintain and apply the multimedia inform abruptly increasing over all social fields, in recent years. For retrieval of still images, we is implemented content-based image retrieval system in this paper that make possible to retrieve similar objects from image database after segmenting query object from background if user request query. Query image is processed median filtering to remove noise first and then object edge is detected it by canny edge detection. And query object is segmented from background by using convex hull. Similarity value can be obtained by means of histogram intersection with database image after securing color histogram from segmented image. Also segmented image is processed gray convert and wavelet transform to extract spacial gray distribution and texture feature. After that, Similarity value can be obtained by means of banded autocorrelogram and energy. Final similar image can be retrieved by adding upper similarity values that it make possible to not only robust in background but also better correct object retrieval by using object segmentation method.

Real-time Detection and Tracking of Moving Objects Based on DSP (DSP 기반의 실시간 이동물체 검출 및 추적)

  • This paper describes real-time detection and tracking of moving objects for unmanned visual surveillance. Using images obtained from the fixed camera it detects moving objects within the image and tracks them with displaying rectangle boxes enclosing the objects. Tracking method is implemented on an embedded system which consists of TI DSK645.5 kit and the FPGA board connected on the DSP kit. The DSP kit processes image processing algorithms for detection and tracking of moving objects. The FPGA board designed for image acquisition and display reads the image line-by-line and sends the image data to DSP processor, and also sends the processed data to VGA monitor by DMA data transfer. Experimental results show that the tracking of moving objects is working satisfactorily. The tracking speed is 30 frames/sec with 320x240 image resolution.

  • 본 논문에서는 다면체의 인식을 위하여 사용되는 여러-방향-보기 방법 (multiple-view approach)에서 모델베이스의 탐색공간 크기를 줄이기 위한 방법을 제시한다. 이 방법에서 모델베이스는 물체를 둘러싸고 있는 보기 구 (view sphere)의 미리 정해진 보는 곳(viewpoint)에서 보여지는 2차원 투영체들로 구성된다. 물체를 인식하기 위하여 개략-상세 전략을 채택하되, 본 논문에서는 모델베이스의 개략 탐색을 위하여 ART-1을 이용하는 방법은 제시한다.
