The effect of Brand Association in Public Libraries on Customer Satisfaction and Loyalty in Public Libraries - Focused on the 20s (공공도서관의 브랜드 연상 요인이 20대의 고객 만족 및 충성도에 미치는 영향)

  • Public libraries have been facing new challenges as the number of channels providing information resources has been increasing due to information and communication technology development. The perception of public libraries of the general public is that they should continue to play a substantial role in information services. However, the libraries' environments are changing, and the public's needs are diversifying, so public libraries also need to differentiate themselves from other organizations that provide similar services. This paper proposes branding as a solution to create differentiation. The study conducted a questionnaire survey with Koreans in their 20s. A series of statistical tests with the survey data showed the impact of the brand association elements on customer satisfaction and brand loyalty and identified unique factors in public libraries. For example, Brand associations such as material-based services, benefits, and attitude affected both dependent variables. On the other hand, the non-product association such as space/place images did not. Based on these findings, we provided implications for introducing branding in public libraries.

Comparison of Changes Over Time between In and Outside the Regional Resident's Cognition for Image of Daegu City - Focused on Representative Image and Environmental Image - (대구광역시 도시이미지에 대한 지역 내외 주민 의식의 경시적 변화 비교 - 대표 이미지와 환경 이미지를 중심으로 -)

  • This paper deals with a comparative analysis of changes in cognition of city image of Daegu City, focusing on image of representative and environmental conditions. Two-questionnaire surveys were conducted to compare the change of image cognition between the last decades. Major results are: Firstly, the most frequent representative images of Daegu City were hot weather, Palgong Mountain, textile industry, etc. and representative places were Palgong Mountain, Dongsung-ro Street, E world(Woobang Land), etc. Compared to the results of year 2000, the frequency of apple, and textile industry were remarkably decreased. Secondly, mean scores of image rating for environmental conditions were comparatively high in human environment such as women, and kindness. By individual variables, accessibility to Daegu City, women, living environment such as shopping, showed higher mean scores. Generally, mean scores of 2011 survey were higher than that of 2000. Thirdly, major factors affecting city image were human environment, living environment, natural environment, and transportation environment, respectively. These results can be used as a basic data for strategies to improve higher brand image of Daegu City.

Awareness and Recognition of Tangpyeongchae by University Students in Chungnam Province (충남지역 대학생의 탕평채에 대한 인식 및 인지도)

  • This study evaluated the awareness and recognition of Tangpyeongchae by university students in Chungnam province. A total of 416 questionnaires were analyzed using the SPSS software program (version 21.0). The results were summarized as follows. The students compared of food and nutrition majors (59.4%) and non-food and nutrition majors (40.6%). This survey was performed from May 20 to Jun 8, 2015. More food and nutrition major students got better impression after eating Tangpyeongchae than non-food and nutrition majors. Among the students, 59.4% was not aware that Tangpyeongchae was derived from Tangpyeongchaek, and 57.7% didn't know that it was a Korean royal cuisine. Food and nutrition major students knew more of the background story for the dish than non-food and nutrition major students. The corresponding level of recognition for Tangpyeongchae as a dish representing the image of Korea with a combination of the 5 cardinal colors, known as obangsaek was high, at 4.27 and 4.17, respectively out of 5. Over 60% of the students answered Tangpyeongchae's image with the taste of Korea, followed by healthy food, harmony, nutritious food, diet food and tasty food. These results suggest that may have great potential for globalization as a traditional dish with the image and taste of Korea.

Analysis of emotional images according to eyes shapes and smoky makeup tone (눈 형태에 따른 스모키 메이크업의 감성 이미지)

  • Images of smoky make up illustrations with different the brightness tones for typical Korean eyes (standard one, small single eyelid and tailed up style) were systematically analyzed using vision-based emotional descriptive language for students majoring makeup and professional group. We identified that various images could be expressed by changing smoky makeup tones on eyes types through analysis of the emotional descriptive language. The smoky make up image recognition of smoky make up illustrations was almost consistent between the students and the professional group, but there was the distinct difference of image perception by two groups for some smoky make up illustrations due to the generation gap as well as their make up expertise and techniques. We suggested the image positioning maps which expressed the emotional reaction felt according to eyes shapes and smoky make up tones. The positioning maps were to provide criteria for various images to be able to express by smoky make up.

  • In this study, it proposes the neural network system for character recognition and restoration. Proposes system composed by recognition part and restoration part. In the recognition part. it proposes model of effective pattern recognition to improve ART Neural Network's performance by restricting the unnecessary top-down frame generation and transition. Also the location feature extraction algorithm which applies with Hangeul's structural feature can apply the recognition. In the restoration part, it composes model of inputted image's restoration by Hopfield neural network. We make part experiments to check system's performance, respectively. As a result of experiment, we see improve of recognition rate and possibility of restoration.

  • Though the education of culture and art for disabled children is very important, it has not been brisk yet until recently due to 'absence of the teaching methods suitable for disability types, levels and programs.'. In this situation, cartoon contents can be used as the most appropriate tools for culture and art education for mentally retarded children. Entertainment functions and genre features of cartoon contents can motivate the applicable children to participate more voluntarily and positively and function as teaching tools for interesting activities. Of course, since it is not proper to apply the cartoon contents for normal children to Special Education Field as they are, cartoon works should be made by understanding closely the characteristics and degrees of retardation of the applicable children and applying them to the composition of cartoons. However, for the contribution of this attempt to education field, it is thought that concrete guidelines for producing cartoon contents considering the concept of various types of disability, emotion, social behavioral traits, ability of cognition, school achievements, and the characteristics of language and physical health should be necessary, and to improve the application of the developed cartoon contents so that they will not remain as superficial results, sufficient communication with the applicable children such as application to classes in the process of development is necessary.

  • Such changes that the digital paradigm brought propels a change of the value system itself in the existing society so that a way of thinking that differentiates oneself from others is getting much stronger. As public interests are higher in the image production on the internet, such authoring environments as development of related technologies, expansibility of information, and systematization of available information continue to change. Therefore, a variety of unique image presentations that fit to the changed environments are necessary and an expression method is indispensable for such image production. It suggests digital image application methods and examples that contain not just simple image distortion or variation but intrinsic significance. It is believed that it will be of good use to produce a variety of unique and innate digital images in the end.

  • 지식표현은 일반적으로 논리, 규칙, 프레임 또는 의미망 형태로 표현되며, 최근에는 의미망을 이용한 온톨로지 형태로 표현되고 있다. 이러한 지식표현 방법은 개념을 설명하는 문맥적인 정보나 개념들 간의 구조적인 정보를 이용하여 개념에 대한 지식을 논리적으로 표현하는데 중점을 두었다. 하지만, 지식표현에 사용되는 의미정보는 사람에 의해 수집되고 정제되기 때문에 많은 시간, 비용 및 인력이 필요하다는 한계가 있고, 새로운 의미를 추가하거나 기존의 의미를 수정하는 것이 매우 어렵다는 한계가 있다. 색채는 특정 대상이나 개념에 대한 의미, 연상, 상징 등 객관적인 특징 뿐 아니라 시대, 나라, 문화와 같은 사회적 배경을 반영하기 때문에, 정보를 제공하고 감성을 전달하는 효과적인 수단으로 사용되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은, 색채를 이용한 의미정보모델 구축을 위해, 색채정보를 수집하고 정량적으로 분석하는 방법을 제안한다. 긍정/부정/불안/중립으로 구성된 감성어휘 273개를 이용하여 이미지를 수집한 결과 총 130,944개의 이미지를 수집하였다. 이미지에는 여러 가지 사물, 행동, 배경, 색채 등 다양한 정보가 혼재되어 있어 감성어휘와 연관된 색채를 구별하기 어렵기 때문에 이미지를 직관적으로 설명할 수 있는 사용자 태그를 별도로 수집하였다. 태그는 총 2,836,395개를 수집하였고 각 이미지와 그룹에서의 가중치를 구하였다. 태그의 가중치를 통해 이미지가 그룹 내에서 갖는 중요도를 판별하였고, 각 그룹 별로 상위 30%의 이미지를 추출하여 대표 색채를 분석하였다.
