Design of A Blended Learning Teaching-Learning Model for the Efficient Use of WiKi WEB-based Debate System (Wiki 웹토론 시스템의 효율적 이용을 위한 블렌디드 러닝 교수학습모형 설계)

  • Wiki 웹토론 시스템의 목적은 지식을 공유하고 자기 주도적으로 학습을 가능하게 하는 토론을 활성화시키는 데 있다. 그러나 이러한 장점에도 불구하고 가정의 컴퓨터 보급률이라든지 인터넷 사용 등의 제반환경여건에 따라 원활한 수업이 이루어지지 않았다. 따라서 면대면 현장학습뿐만 아니라 온라인 환경과 기술요소에 따른 다양한 학습활동들이 필요하다. 블렌디드 러닝 (Blended Learning)이란 적합한 시간에 적합한 사람에게 적합한 기술을 개인에 적합한 학습스타일에 맞추기 위해 적합한 학습관련의 기술을 적용함으로써 학습목표 성취에 초점을 두는 학습형태이다. 블렌디드 러닝에 있어서 학습은 지속적인 과정이며 오프라인학습공간과 결합하여 학습의 장을 넓히는 것이다. 학습자의 관심을 끌어내어 교육의 효과성을 극대화하며 학습 프로그램의 개발이나 과정실행에서 적절한 방법으로 혼합함으로써 시간과 비용을 최적화할 수 있다. 본 연구에서 제시한 블렌디드 러닝 교수학습모형은 Wiki 웹토론 시스템을 보다 효율적으로 활용할수 있게 하였다. 본 모형의 특징은 첫째, 토론에 앞서 오프라인 학습으로 학습목표확인과 수업안내를 하여 학생들로 하여금 학습목표인지와 수업의 흐름을 보다 잘 파악할 수 있게 하였다. 둘째, 토론 후 교사의 강의가 오프라인 학습으로 이루어지도록 하여 학생들에게 배운 내용을 정리할 수 있는 기회를 제공하여 보다 충실한 수업이 될 수 있었다. 셋째, 토론 후 학습자-교사자 및 학습자 상호피드백이 이루어질 수 있도록 하였다.

  • IT를 기반으로 한 플립러닝(Flipped Learning-온라인으로 선행학습을 한 뒤에 오프라인 수업을 통해 교사와 학생이 토론식으로 진행하는 수업방식) 학습법은 교수자가 아닌 학습자의 요구에 적극 부응할 수 있는 제도이다. 전공 수업뿐만 아니라 교양 수업에도 이에 대한 적극적인 도입이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 대학 글쓰기 수업에 있어서 플립러닝 학습법을 적용한 사례를 통해 이를 입증하고자 하였다.

  • Until now, there are many technologies to improve studying ability using e-learning system. In most of e-learning system, learners are studying through the lecture materials and studying problems. The studying ability and intention, however, can be improved through the shared materials and discussion. In this case, learning materials are shared by the learners' discussion and shared materials through the board Internet and MSN. Such data was not classified by learners; it was not easy for the learners to search related valuable information. Therefore, it was not helping to learning. The technologies of most text mining extract summary data from the collection of document or classify into similar document from the complex document. In this paper, we implemented e-learning system for learners to improve learning abilities and especially, applied text mining technology to classify learning material for helping learners.

The Examination of the Variables related to the Students' e-learning Participation that Have an Effect on Learning Achievement in e-learning Environment of Cyber University (사이버대학 e-러닝환경에서 학업성취도에 영향을 미치는 학습 참여 변인 규명)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the variables related to the students' e-learning participation that have an effect on learning achievement in e-learning environment of cyber universities. Based on the related research, the followings are derive. First, students' attendance and participation in discussion showed higher correlation with the learning achievement than other participation variables. However, the total studying time in online classes showed lower correlation with the learning achievement. Second, the variables that have an effect on the learning achievement were in the order of students' attendance, participation in discussion, access frequency to online classes, learning progress and number of data uploads. Third, by the learners' background, the difference among the variables that have an effect on learning achievement were found. Based on the results above, this study suggests considerations about participation variables to enhance the learning achievement in cyber universities.

Developing CEDA Model for Internet-based Class (인터넷 수업에서의 CEDA(Cross Examination Debate Association) 토론 모델연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to design internet CEDA(Cross Examination Debate Association) debating model for the internet-based learning. Comparing to open discussion model that is widely spreaded in regular classes, the CEDA model can enhance learner's thinking skills, logicality, analytic skills, and judgement ability. In the first study, 196 students were provided the specific CEDA model guideline and participated debate activities through the internet. The results of the students' debate were analyzed based on the evaluation criteria. The results showed that the students' evaluation scores were high overall. They favored the CEDA model over the open discussion model, and showed positive attitudes and perceptions on the CEDA internet debate activity. In the second study, another 200 students were participated in two different tutor supporting CEDA debating groups, one is advanced tutor strategy group and the other is general tutor strategy group. The results showed that the advanced tutor supporting group had significantly high scores on the cross examination and providing evidence on debating. This study finally suggests the CEDA internet model for general use. In conclusion, this study also suggests the next steps to elaborate the CEDA internet model not only for the university settings, but also for general school settings. The user manuals should be developed to assist instructors, students, and tutors to guide better debate activities through the internet CEDA class. Also further research should be conducted to provide various debate models and applications for the variety of learning environments, and so the schools to use the CEDA model more widely in the internet classes.

  • 본 연구의 목적은 E-NIE 수업을 진행하는데 있어 기존 연구의 문제점과 개선점을 조사하고 수업자료선택, 수업진행, 발전방향에 관한 설문조사 결과를 토대로 멀티미디어 자료 검색 방법과 온라인에서 신문활용학습이 효율적으로 이루어질 수 있는 E-NIE 이러닝 시스템 발전 방안을 모색하기 위한 것이다. E-NIE에 뉴스 표준인 NewsML과 교육정보 표준인 KEM 그리고 학사관리운영플랫폼 LMS를 접목해 멀티미디어 자료와 교과 및 단원을 구조화해 표준화된 교육용 멀티미디어 아카이브를 구축하고 온라인으로 진단 형성 수행 평가, 토론학습, 협동학습 등이 가능하고 학생들의 성적과 진도는 물론 교수학습의 전반적인 과정을 통합적으로 운영 관리할 수 있는 E-NIE 이러닝 시스템을 제안한다.

Correlation Between Social Network Centrality and College Students' Performance in Blended Learning Environment (블렌디드 러닝 환경에서 사회 연결망 중심도와 학습자 성과 간의 상관관계)

  • The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of social network centrality variables on students' performance in blended learning environment in a higher educational institution. Using data from 36-student course on Learning Theories and Their Implications on Instructional Design Practices, the researcher empirically tested how social network centrality variables - such as friendship network centrality, advice network centrality, and adversary network centrality - are correlated with academic achievement measures. Results indicate, as hypothesized, the friendship and advice centrality positively correlate with, whereas the adversary centrality being negatively correlate with application performance measures and test scores. The size and quality of posted online discussions are positively and strongly correlated with the advice network centrality.

  • 본 연구는 e러닝 환경에서 웹 기반 학습자간 상호작용 학습증진을 위한 스터디 그룹 활동지원시스템 개발을 위한 실질적 사례를 제시하는 데 있다. e러닝 환경 웹 기반학습의 단점을 보완하기 위하여 함께 학습이 가능하도록 제안되었고, 학습자들간의 상호작용을 증진시킬 수 있는 자료실 정보교환, 화상토론, 동영상강좌 동시 시청 가능도 설계되었다. 대학생 254명 대상 49개 그룹으로 학습자간의 상호작용을 통한 학습만족도를 조사하고 그 결과를 분석 해보았다. 또한 협동학습을 통한 스터디 그룹 활동은 개인별 상호작용 활동지수로 나타내어 학습만족도와의 상관관계를 증가시킬 수 있는 하나의 온라인 학습 커뮤니티 모형을 제시함으로서 e러닝 사이트나 학습 시스템을 설자하고 구현하는데 참고가 될 수 있으리라 기대한다.

  • The present study is to investigate the elements of e-learning strategies affecting the levels of participation, achievement and satisfaction for learners who participated in the university blended learning environment. For this, 58 subjects were recruited who participated in the blended learning class at K university. E-learning strategies, achievement and satisfaction levels were measured for data collection, and the level of participation was measured by analyzing the LMS log-in database. For data analysis, first, means and standard deviation were computed to find the level of e-learning strategies of the subjects. Second, linear regression analysis was conducted to find the e-learning strategies that could estimate the levels of achievement, participation and satisfaction. As a result, variables to estimate the achievement level included time management strategy and overload management strategy. Variables to estimate the participation level included self-directed strategy, time management strategy and overload management strategy. Finally, variables to estimate the satisfaction level included multiple discussion management strategy, asynchronous management strategy and sociality. Based on these estimated variables, the author suggested some ideas to increase the educational effectiveness.

Application of Flipped Learning in Database Course (데이터베이스 교과목에서 플립러닝 적용 사례)

  • Flipped learning is a pedagogic model in which the typical lecture and homework elements of a course are reversed. Short video lectures or e-learning contents or other learning materials are viewed by students at home before the in-class session, while students are mainly carried out diverse active learning activities such as the discussions, exercises, team projects and so on in class time. Recently flipped learning has been emerging as an effective teaching-learning method that can train the 21st century talents who can create creative values based on fusion competencies. Based on the experience in applying the flipped learning to the database class that is an elective course of the school of computer engineering through three semesters, this paper proposes a flipped learning model consists of 7 steps in detail. Also, this paper analyzes the effects and weak points of the flipped learning and proposes several things for the successful flipped learning application.
