This research is carried out by investigating and researching into middle and high school students around capital regions in the hopes of enhancing their satisfaction to their uniforms and their desire for self-expression, resulting in a positive notion to uniforms being settled in among the students. In the regards of benefits of pursuing clothes, female students are highly pursuing individual characteristics, aesthetics, and economy all depending on the demographic factors. It is notable that students in Seoul are pursuing those elements more strongly than those in Gyeonggi-do. As for the attitude towards wearing school uniforms, the safety weighs a lot among female students. Meanwhile, those in Gyeonggi-do were more inclined to economy as they prefer wearing uniform more often than not. Students who are pursuing individual characteristics and aesthetics are less likely to pursue economy, whereas those who are pursuing practicality are pursuing better economy. Those in favor of economy, meanwhile, are pursuing aesthetics, safety, as well as economy. When it comes to the attitude towards wearing school uniforms, the result showed that it is more likely for those who are considering aesthetics, safety, and economy to be satisfied with the aesthetics, practicality, and the convenience aspects of school uniforms.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how gender role attitudes affect clothing involvement and clothing consumption behaviors in young female generation by changing the traditional sex role stereotype. For the research, the survey was conducted for a month from June 15 to July 15, 2009. Data was collected a total of 368 questionnaires from 20's female university students and analyzed 301 questionnaires with SPSS 12.0. The results were as follows. First, the results of factor analysis on gender role attitudes confirmed the multifactorial theory of gender schema: modern masculinity, conservative gender roles, modern feminity based on emotion, gender role openness, and traditional feminity. Second, gender role attitude of female university students was a little conservative but flexible to accommodate masculinity and active in the emotion expression. Third, gender role attitudes had important effects on clothing involvement which was identified into 4 different factors; fashion involvement, clothing interest, performance risk, and social psychological risk. Fourth, gender role attitudes were related with clothing consumption behaviors as like shopping orientation, on-going information search behavior and brand loyalty because of needs for innovation, exhibition and differentiation. Therefore, it was concluded that not only 'androgynous' from modern feminity based on emotion but also 'masculinity' was applied to important fashion marketing strategic tools by statically affecting female consumer's clothing involvement and clothing behaviors.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the effect on the evaluation of a female teachers' role-performance based on appearance according to the clothing attitude of students and their parents. Based on the results of this study a female teachers' role-performance evaluation can be broken down into four ability areas: leaning guidance, living guidance, human relations, and learning management. Likewise the clothing attitudes of students and their parents can be divided into three groups, the clothing oriented group, the trend-individuality group, and the chastity oriented group. The trend-individuality group of students felt that female teachers' appearances have a significant effect on learning guidance and human relations ability while parents thought that there was little relationship or that it has a moderate effect on the role of learning guidance. Because the concerns of students and parents about female teachers' clothing has an effect on female teachers' role performance evaluation, when directing a student group with a high concern for clothing, female teachers need to be sensitive about their appearances and it's affect on learning guidance, human relations, and class management. Based on these results, students and parents felt that female teachers' appearances have an effect on their role performance according to their clothing attitudes.
