  • Much research on ontology has been done during the last decade in order to represent knowledge and connect data semantically in AI and Semantic Web areas. However, ontologies might be represented and defined in different ways depending on knowledge and intention of users. It causes heterogeneity problem that the same concept can be differently expressed. This paper introduces a XOB (XMDR-based Ontology Builder) system based on XMDR to resolve the problem. XOB creates ontologies by reusing classes and relations defined in XMDR. XOB therefore is able to either solve or minimize the heterogeneity problem among ontologies. This paper introduces the conceptual model and overall architecture of the proposed system XOB. This paper defines the process, algorithm, ontology generation rule that is required to create ontologies by using concepts registered in XMDR. Our proposal supports higher standardization than the previous approaches, and it provides many advantages such as consistent concept usage, easy semantic exchange, and so on. Therefore, XOB enables high-quality ontology creation and reduces cost for ontology integration and system development.

  • In accommodation sharing economy, customers take a risk of uncertainty about product quality, which is an important factor affecting users' satisfaction. This risk can be lowered by the information disclosed by the facility provider. Self-presentation of the hosts can make a positive effect on listing performance by eliminating psychological distance through emotional interaction with users. This paper analyzed the self-presentation text provided by Airbnb hosts and found key aspects in the text. In order to extract the aspects from the text, host descriptions were separated into sentences and applied the Attention-Based Aspect Extraction method, an unsupervised neural attention model. Then, we investigated the relationship between aspects in the host description and the listing performance via linear regression models. In order to compare their impact between the three facility types(Entire home/apt, Private rooms, and Shared rooms), the interaction effects between the facility types and the aspect summaries were included in the model. We found that specific aspects had positive effects on the performance for each facility type, and provided implication on the marketing strategy to maximize the performance of the shared economy.

  • In table Machine comprehension, the knowledge required for language models or the structural form of tables changes depending on the domain, showing a greater performance degradation compared to text data. In this paper, we propose a pre-learning data construction method and an adversarial learning method through meaningful tabular data selection for constructing a pre-learning table language model robust to these domain changes in table machine reading. In order to detect tabular data sed for decoration of web documents without structural information from the extracted table data, a rule through heuristic was defined to identify head data and select table data was applied. An adversarial learning method between tabular data and infobax data with knowledge information about entities was applied. When the data was refined compared to when it was trained with the existing unrefined data, F1 3.45 and EM 4.14 increased in the KorQuAD table data, and F1 19.38, EM 4.22 compared to when the data was not refined in the Spec table QA data showed increased performance.

  • This paper introduces a robot knowledge framework which is represented with multiple classes, levels and layers to implement robot intelligence at real environment for mobile robot. Our root knowledge framework consists of four classes of knowledge (KClass), axioms, rules, a hierarchy of three knowledge levels (KLevel) and three ontology layers (OLayer). Four KClasses including perception, model, activity and context class. One type of rules are used in a way of unidirectional reasoning. And, the other types of rules are used in a way of bi-directional reasoning. The robot knowledge framework enable a robot to integrate robot knowledge from levels of its own sensor data and primitive behaviors to levels of symbolic data and contextual information regardless of class of knowledge. With the integrated knowledge, a robot can have any queries not only through unidirectional reasoning between two adjacent layers but also through bidirectional reasoning among several layers even with uncertain and partial information. To verify our robot knowledge framework, several experiments are successfully performed for object recognition and navigation.

  • The purpose of this study is to theoretically explore the pedagogical meaning of Flipped Learning (FL) through the lens of Bakhtinnian Dialogism. Flipped learning has emerged based on technological development, which enables educators to reorganize educational space and time. In the new converged time and space, teachers changed the activities in and out of classes, flipped lectures with students' activity, and redefined the role of teachers and students. These dialogical characteristics of FL results in several educational consequences: first, underscoring educational dialogue, second, extending the participation in the dialogical chain, third, deconstructing the existing authority of knowledge, and escalating the self-directedness of learners.

  • This study introduces strengths theory, a core subject of career development and job-getting, and discusses about the factors of strengths(namely talents, knowledge and skills), the processes of strengths personalization, and generating employability. It searches for opportunities to apply the concept of employability to the field of Library and Information Science now thrown under hard pressure from information and communication technology. Employability is defined here as competence to make oneself employable as needed by discovering or creating work opportunities using one's own tested personalized strengths. Employability is a package of systematically organized information about the essential abilities and productive personalities of a person, and it is essential to be duly cognitive of one's employability if one seriously intends to succeed in jobs and career. Since generation of employability heavily involves complex processes of information and knowledge-making, expertise from LIS, particularly from areas of personal information management(PIM) and personal knowledge management(PKM), is expected to help for process facilitation.

  • Preventive maintenance is required for best performance of facilities in large scale industry. Ultimately, the efficiency of production is maximized by preventing the failure of facilities in advance. Typically, regular maintenance is conducted manually; however, it is hard to prevent repeated failures. Also, since measures to prevent failure depend on proactive problem-solving by the facility expert, they have limitations when the expert is absent or diagnosis error is made by an unskilled expert. Alarm system is used to aid manual facility diagnosis and early detection. However, it is not efficient in practice, since it is designed to simply collect information and is activated even with small problems. In this study, we designed and developed an automated preventive maintenance system based on expert's experience in detecting failure, determining the cause, and predicting future system failure. We also discussed the system structure designed to reuse the expert's knowledge and its applications.

  • The virtual reality consists of a virtual space constructed similar to the reality and agents residing in it. Our virtual space refers to an orderly space that is governed by such physical properties as mass, gravity, friction, and associated rules on top of the usual visual rendering. To construct this virtual world we are to develop virtual agents behaving like humans and the environment surrounding them. In order to improve the existing reactive agents designed to act to their designers' dictation in predetermined space or memory into autonomous agents, we need diverse kinds of knowledge among others related to the spaces for the agents to act in. Our design and implementation focuses on the spatial knowledge among those diverse aspects of knowledge required. The developed knowledge representation scheme is used on a basis for realistic and efficient physical cyber-environment, and as the knowledge structure to simulate the virtual agents' knowledges on spaces.
