Improving Performance of Web Search Engine using Query Word Senses and User Feedback (질의어 의미정보와 사용자 피드백을 이용한 웹 검색엔진의 성능향상)

  • This paper proposes a technique improving performance using word senses and user feedback in web information retrieval, compared with the retrieval based on ambiguous user query and index. Disambiguation using word senses is very important processing for improving performance by eliminating the irrelevant pages from the result. According to semantic categories of nouns which are used as index for retrieval, we build the word sense knowledge-base and categorize the web pages. It can improve the performance of retrieval system with user feedback deciding the query sense and information seeking behavior to web pages.

Conceptual Definition and Types of Reflective Thinking on Science Teaching: Focus on the Pre-service Science Teachers (과학 수업에 대한 반성적 사고의 개념적 정의와 유형: 예비 과학교사를 중심으로)

  • Reflection in teacher education is one reform effort that has taken hold in many teacher preparation programs. However, how to define it and how to foster it in a teacher's education are problematic issues. In this study, on the basis of literature review, science teachers' reflective thinking is defined as a process of thinking that deliberates on alternatives to solve conflict between one's previous knowledge/belief/practice and internal/external factors in science teaching context. Based on this definition, three types of science teachers' reflective thinking (i.e. technical reflection, professional reflection and critical reflection) were proposed. In addition, a framework of classifying the reflective thinking's types was also developed. To investigate science teachers' reflective thinking, two pre-service science teachers who majored in physics education participated in this study. The participants presented the monthly report on reflective practice, pre/post questionnaire, and education practicum journals. Individual interviews with them were conducted before and after their teaching activities. From the analysis of the data, it was possible to categorize the reflective thinking of the participants into three types. The major type of their reflective thinking was the technical reflection. However, it was difficult to find examples of the critical reflection.

Knowledge Distribution Status of the Korean SMC's Technology Commercialization Process Using a Knowledge Map (지식지도를 이용한 중소기업 기술사업화 프로세스의 지식 유통 현황 분석)

  • Technology commercialization is a reward process for companies' various trials and investment to develop technologies, which can be regarded as a way to figure out company's business performance. To successfully attain companies' purpose via technology commercialization, a variety of knowledge which triggers and completes business activities are needed. This paper suggests a methodology to analyze problems and solutions around the technology commercialization process in terms of knowledge distribution status, especially focused on Korean SMC cases. The knowledge map of this paper is constructed from the knowledge networks and identifies problems and solutions of the target process. A case study for applying proposed concepts to SMC's cases is also performed by checking knowledge distribution status and extracting practical implications. This paper's ideas can be regarded as one of references for SMCs to prepare technology commercialization with guaranteeing facilitated knowledge distribution and utilization.

Comparative Study on Knowledge Protection in Public and Private Organizations (정부조직의 지식보호 - 민간기업과의 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • Unlike knowledge sharing or knowledge transfer, knowledge protection has received little attention in the literature. Knowledge protection play a very important role in keeping organization competitive. This study explores the differences in knowledge protection between public and private organizations by T-test and regression analysis. The results of this study shows that the level of knowledge protection in public organizations is lower than that in private organizations. There is even larger difference in the level of access to key knowledge from outside between the two sectors. Such difference can be explained by the unique characteristics of public sector organizations. Understanding why the level of knowledge protection differs between the public and private sector is very important. This study presents lessons and implications for management leadership.

  • What the structure of knowledge management capability (KMC) to improve the organizational performance is an important issue for researchers and practitioners with growing interest in recent years. In this paper, we begin with a deep thinking about the resource-based view and knowledge-based view of the firm applying to knowledge management issues. By exploring the two underlying theories of knowledge management, together with an intensive review and interpretation of existing literatures, we obtain six major dimensions of KMC. We then propose an integrated conceptual model of KMC and its relationship with organizational performance. A PLS analysis of the gathered data from organizations in Korea which already have enterprise-wide knowledge management systems is conducted to validate the proposed model. We discuss several meaningful implications and draw several insightful conclusions surrounding the KMC.

수학적 지식의 구조와 문제 해결을 통한 탐구학습

  • 수학은 위계적이고 구조적인 특성을 가지고 있어서 학생들이 적절하게 학습하면 내적 동기유발이 가능하고 흥미 있게 학습해 나갈 수 있는 반면 단편적인 지식들로 학습하려 한다면 그 양이 방대해지고 제대로 이해하기가 어렵다. 그러므로 교사는 수학적 지식의 구조를 깨달아 지식의 본체가 내적으로 어떻게 조직되고 상호 관련되어 있는지 알아야 하고 학생들이 수학적인 아이디어와 절차를 획득하고 탐구하게 하는 적절한 문제를 제시하여 문제해결을 통해 가르쳐 가는 방법을 생각해야 할 것이다. 이 때에 학생들은 문제해결 과정에서 능동적인 역할을 하면서 자신이 학습하고 있는 것의 핵심을 인식하고 호기심을 갖고 유의미한 기능들을 이끌어내는 학습을 해야 하는데, 이는 오랜 전통의 탐구 학습과 그 맥락을 같이 하는 것이다. 수학교과 고유의 특성을 살려 지식의 구조를 가르침에 있어서 교수 방법으로의 문제해결을 통한 지도와 학습 방법으로의 탐구학습 과정은 잘 조화될 수 있다. 이러한 조화된 모습을 드러나게 하고자 초등학교 5학년 가 단계에서 '평면도형의 넓이와 둘레 사이의 관계'를 탐구하게 하는 문제해결을 통한 탐구학습 과제를 제시해 보았다. 30-40년을 거슬러 올라가는 역사를 갖는 지식의 구조나 탐구학습, 문제해결에 대한 관심은 오늘날에도 여전히 시사하는 바가 크다고 하겠다. 수학교육에 관한 연구들은 완전히 새로운 것이기보다는 이전의 것들이 주는 의미를 되새기고 오늘의 상황에 비추어 해석할 때 수학교육은 한 단계 올라서게 된다.

  • Production rule based knowledge representation method has many advantages, but has the difficulties in maintaining the consistency of knowledge. Since the consistency maintenance of knowledge exercises a marked effect on the reliability of inference results, the system for consistency maintenance of knowledge is indispensable to increase the reliability. In the most popular pairwise checking method among consistency verification methods, the valuable rules can be omitted and it takes much time in checking the consistency when the rules are numerous. So, this paper is to propose and implement the verification system which can remove the structural errors and semantic ones, making up for the defects of pairwise checking method by using the certain property list and eventual property list and improving the steps of verification.

  • 디지털 도서관 시스템의 검색에서 발생하는 가장 큰 문제점은 질의에 있어 사용자의 의도와 시스템의 해석간의 의미적, 형식적 차이가 생긴다는 점에 있다. 우리는 보다 효과적으로 사용자의 의도를 반영할 수 있도록 사용자의 질의를 변환하는 지능적 검색 에이전트를 제안한다. 이를 위해서 의미적 질의 최적화기법에 근거를 둔 변환 알고리즘과 에이전트 아키텍쳐를 정의한다. 제안된 알고리즘은 범용 추론키보다 훨씬 간단하면서도 효과적으로 사용자의 질의를 변환한다.

  • 본 논문에서 는 특정 도메인에서 사용되는 정보들과 그들의 관계를 정의해놓은 온톨로지를 반자동으로 구축하기 위하여 특정 도메인의 코퍼스에 있는 텍스트의 분석 결과를 이용하는 방안을 제시하고자 한다. 이를 위하여, 실험 도메인 내에서 빈번히 출현하는 전문용어들을 접미사와의 결합형태에 따라 추출하고 계층구조를 설정하는 알고리즘을 제안하고 약품매뉴얼을 대상으로 실험을 행하였다. 구축된 온톨로지는 자연스런 의미군을 형성하면서 풍부한 의미정보를 포함함으로써 정보검색 등의 전문적인 지식의 접근에 유용하게 쓰일 수 있으며, 검색의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 추론의 기반으로도 이용할 수 있다.
