Occupational Therapist Needs Survey for the Development of a Sensory Processing Evaluation Tool for Schools (학교용 감각처리 평가도구 개발을 위한 작업치료사 욕구 조사)

  • Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate existing evaluation methods and the limitations thereof Korean children's occupational therapists to understand sensory processing performance in schools. This study provides basic data for the development of sensory processing evaluation tools for schools. Methods: The questionnaire was administered to 20 occupational therapists with more than 3 years of experience in occupational therapy interventions for school-aged children. The survey obtained information through online surveys and telephone interviews. The questionnaires were divided into general characteristics and evaluation methods and limitations of existing sensory processing in school, necessity of a sensory processing evaluation tool for school, and opinions. The questionnaire consisted of 12 closed questions and 4 open questions. Results: In total, 90% of the researchers said that school-aged children in schools are aware of 'some information' through their parents or children. Furthermore, 50% said they often complained about difficulties related to sensory processing in school, and 50% that they were more than 'usual'. Finally, 80% of the repondents indicated that the development of sensory processing evaluation tools for schools was "significantly needed". Conclusion: Occupational therapists in charge of domestic children reported for the need to develop evaluation tools to understand sensory processing abilities in schools. Evaluation tools will play an important role in the evaluation and intervention of occupational therapy for school-aged children.

Ethical perception from practice of ethics education (윤리 교육경험에 따른 윤리 지식수준에 관한 연구)

  • 이 연구는 보건계열 학과에 재학 중인 학생들의 윤리교육 경험과 윤리교육 필요성인지에 따른 윤리지식수준의 차이를 살펴보고자, 보건계열 학과에 재학 중인 596명을 대상으로 자기기입법에 의한 설문조사법으로 2005년 4월 한달 동안 실시하였다. 연구에 사용된 연구도구로 독립변수는 의료 윤리 교육경험, 전문윤리 교육경험, 직업윤리 교육경험, 임상실습 경험, 전문윤리 교육 필요성 인지, 의료윤리 교육 필요성 인지이었고, 종속변수는 면허관련법규 지식수준, 전문윤리 지식수준, 의사결정판단 지식수준, 팀웍 지식수준이었다. 수집된 자료를 SPSS 12.0을 사용하여 기술통계와 t-test를 실시한 결과, 임상실습경험 직업윤리 교육경험 의료윤리 교육경험, 전문윤리 교육경험, 전문윤리 교육 필요성 인지에 따라 유의한 차이가 있었으며, 이 중 직업윤리 교육경험에 따라서는 4가지 윤리지식수준에서 유의한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 정상적으로 학교에서의 윤리교육이 이루어져야 하고, 일반 윤리교육에 비해서 직업 윤리교육이 강화되어야 한다고 사료되었다.

Usage Intention of u-Healthcare Service Using Unified Theory of Technology Adoption and Usage (기술수용 및 이용에 관한 통합 이론을 활용한 유헬스케어 서비스 이용의도에 관한 연구)

  • u-Healthcare integration between ICT and healthcare service is able to utilize effectively for people's healthcare anywhere and any time. The purpose of this study is to explore the perception and influence factors on intention to use u-Healthcare service of physicians and staffs working for medical institutions. Ninety eight(98) valid cases have been collected for this study. It is also analysed by SPSS 18.0 and SmartPLS 2.0M3. Empirical findings provide important insights as follows: firstly, performance expectation, effort expectation and social influence positively influence intention to use u-Healthcare service; secondly, perceived risk negatively influences usage intention, and finally, performance expectation, effort expectation and perceived risk are moderated by voluntariness.

A Study on the Demand for Ubiquitous Computing Services (유비쿼터스 서비스 수요에 관한 연구)

  • Ubiquitous computing is a vogue word, and its service is very popular in Korea. However, present ubiquitous service(u-Service) is thought to be more oriented to the provider's point of view, not the consumer's. To complement this problem, an online survey was performed for internet users, which consists of 24 single choice questions on six fields such as transportation, healthcare, environment/city-management, culture/education, administration, and industry. 2463 people joined the survey, who were grouped according to their age, resident region, level of education, and sex. Each group's demand for specific field of u-Service was examined. General level of demand was higher in case of the elderly and male than the younger and female for overall u-Service.

Survey of Insomnia Treatment Status for Doctors (의사 대상 불면증 치료 현황 조사 연구)

  • Objectives: The present study investigated current practices of insomnia treatment among Korean doctors in clinical settings. Methods: A total of 100 doctors participated in the present study and filled out a series of survey questions regarding their treatment of insomnia patients. Results: The results revealed that the primary type of insomnia treatment was pharmacological and that the most popular medication was zolpidem. The majority of doctors reported that they also utilized non-pharmacological treatments such as sleep hygiene education and cognitive-behavioral therapy. However, these treatments tended to result in low satisfaction. In addition, the doctors perceived that patients largely preferred pharmacological treatments to non-pharmacological ones and did not have sufficient knowledge of non-pharmacological treatments. Conclusion: Many doctors believed that non-pharmacological treatments for insomnia were important, but reported that they were difficult to implement in practice. The results of this study suggest that improved medical conditions for non-pharmacological treatments and education of physicians are necessary to appropriately treat insomnia.

The Effect of Physical Environments in the Comprehensive Health Examination Center on Medical Service Value, Satisfaction and Switching Barrier (종합검진센터의 물리적 환경이 의료서비스가치와 만족도, 전환장벽에 미치는 영향)

  • This study presents strategic implications for enhancing the competitiveness of the comprehensive health examination center through the study of its impact on the switching barrier with medical service value and medical service satisfaction as parameters. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, a total of 324 questionnaires were analyzed for customers who received health examinations at the general examination center. Covariance structure analysis was performed to test hypotheses and causal relationships. The results showed that the physical environment had a significant effect on the medical service value and medical service satisfaction. The value of medical service also had a significant effect on medical service satisfaction. The value of medical service was found to affect the transition barrier, but the satisfaction of medical service did not affect the transition barrier. The implications of this study are that physical environment has a significant effect on medical service value and medical service satisfaction. Therefore, modern medical equipment should be equipped with the latest medical equipment to minimize accurate examination and misdiagnosis through modernization of medical examination center. In addition, since the value of medical service has a significant effect on the switching barrier, it is necessary to establish a plan to enhance the value of medical service. We need to promote sustainable customer retention and creation of new customers through differentiated screening items and cost advantages over competitors. In addition to check-up services, efforts should be made to enhance the value of services such as strengthening medical communication and medical complex cultural spaces, and at the same time, establish an organizational culture of customer-first examination centers through the placement of excellent personnel and continuous education.

The Analysis of Order Priority of Management Performance Factors in Medical Organization (AHP기법을 이용한 의료기관 성과요인의 우선순위 분석)

  • This paper suggests the measurement method of evaluation of management performance factors in health organization using AHP and Factor Analysis technique. To achieve this goal, this study applies AHP method to different size of hospitals. AHP method is deployed in three steps. At first step, the major factors, which indicate the management performance in health organizations, will be formed through factor analysis. At second step, the pairwise comparison between two factors will be performed to calculate the weights of each variables. At the last step, the order of priority of all factors will be determined. This order list will be used in measurement of the management performance in health organization. The results of this paper show that the financial factors take the top position, and followed by customer related factors, process factors and education & growth factors. This result could be the milestone for the measurement of management performance of medical organization in Korea.

Convergence Study of Servicescape and Human Services on the Perceived values and Customer Satisfaction (의료기관의 서비스스케이프, 인적서비스가 지각된 가치와 고객만족에 미치는 융합적 연구)

  • The study examined the impact of medical servicescape, human services, and effects on perceived value and customer satisfaction. From July 1, 2016 to August 31, 2016, a total of 300 outpatients visiting the university hospital and general hospital in Ulsan area participated the study. As a result, the general features of the Servicescape were more important to the aged and the higher the academic background, the higher the scores of Human Service and perceived value were revealed. There was a positive correlation between the service schedule of the medical institution, human service, perceived value, and customer satisfaction. And the factors affecting customer satisfaction were in order of human service (${\beta}=0.382$), perceived value (${\beta}=0.376$). The service scapegoats and personal services offered by customers visiting healthcare providers play an important role in understanding the internal health and needs of customers, and this research results will serve as a basic material for strengthening the competitiveness of medical institutions.

The Relations of Stress, Job Satisfaction, Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention in Medical Technicians (의료기술직의 스트레스, 직무만족, 조직몰입 및 이직의도 간의 관계)

  • The aim of this study was to analyze relations of stress, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention in medical technicians. The subjects were 468 medical technicians in 10 general hospitals. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire from July 1, 2015 to August 30, 2015 and analyzed with descriptive statistics, ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation, Hierarchical multiple regression analysis. The mean score of stress level was $2.62{\pm}0.69$, satisfaction level $2.92{\pm}0.62$, organizational commitment $3.37{\pm}0.63$, and turnover intention $2.97{\pm}0.68$. We found the positive correlations of turnover intention with stress. There were negative correlations among job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention. These results showed that medical technicians were needed to minimize stress in order to maintain job satisfaction, organizational commitment and decrease turnover intention.

Attitude, Role perception and Nursing stress on Life Sustaining Treatment of Nurses (간호사의 연명의료에 대한 태도, 역할 인식 및 간호 스트레스)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the attitude, role perception and nursing stress on life sustaining treatment of nurses. The participants were 160 nurses in G hospital of P city. Data were collected by using self-report questionnaires. The mean score of attitude toward life sustaining treatment was 3.33, role perception was 3.94 and nursing stress was 3.78. Attitude toward life sustaining treatment was significant difference for work unit and nursing stress was significant difference for gender, marital status and work unit. The nursing stress was positively correlated with role perception. The influencing factors of nursing stress were gender, medical ward, intensive care unit and role perception. Therefore, it is necessary to develop education program to reduce nursing stress and research is needed to verify the effectiveness of the program.
