Effects of Tube Diameter and Surface Sub-Cooling Temperature on R1234ze(E) and R1233zd(E) Film Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics in Smooth Horizontal Laboratory Tubes (수평 평활관에서 관직경 및 표면 과냉도가 R1234ze(E) 및 R1233zd(E) 막응축 열전달에 미치는 영향)

  • HFO refrigerants have recently come to be regarded as promising alternatives to R134a for use in turbo chillers. This study provides results from experiments evaluating the film condensation heat transfer characteristics of HFO refrigerants R1234ze(E) and R1233zd(E) on smooth horizontal laboratory tubes. The experiments were conducted at a saturation vapor temperature of $38.0^{\circ}C$ with surface sub-cooling temperatures in the range of $3{\sim}15^{\circ}C$. We observe that the film condensation heat transfer coefficient decreases as surface sub-cooling temperatures increase. In the case of laboratory tubes with a diameter of 19.05 mm, the film condensation heat transfer coefficients of R1234ze(E) and R1233zd(E) were approximately 11% and 20% lower than those of R134a, respectively. Furthermore, our investigation of the effect of tube diameter on film condensation heat transfer coefficients, demonstrates an inverse relationship where the film condensation heat transfer coefficient increases as laboratory tube diameter decreases. We propose experimental correlations of Nusselt number for R1234ze(E) and R1233zd(E), which yield a ${\pm}20%$ error band.

  • This study is related with the experimental investigation on the heat transfer and pressure drop characteristics of the fin-and-tube heat exchangers with three different interrupted fins and a plane fin for air-conditioning application. Experiments were conducted accordingly following the appropriate development process. Geometry similitude experiment was introduced to predict the performance of fins, and prototype experiment was also performed to confirm the validity of geometry similitude experimental results. However, these experimental results were limited to the sensible heat transfer characteristics of the heat exchangers. Hence, additional experiment was performed using refrigerant to investigate the latent heat transfer characteristics. This paper presents an appropriate process for the development of a new type heat exchanger. Sensible and latent heat transfer characteristics for each fin configuration is also provided along with the optimal fin configuration.

복사열 교란에 대한 고체 추진제 응답 함수의 FM 방법에 의한 수치적 계산

  • 교란에 대한 고체 추진제의 연소율의 반등에 대한 이해는 고성능 추진제를 설계하는데 매우 중요한 요소이다. 그 동안의 연구는 고체 추진제의 표면에서 발생하는 교란이 매우 작은 크기로 발생한다는 선형적인 가정을 사용하여 이론적인 응답 함수를 구하였다. 특히 실험실에서 행해지는 교란에 대한 추진제의 응답 함수를 구하기 위하여 이용한 비집촉식 교란 방법을 사용하였다. 이 경우 추진제 표면으로 전달되는 복사열 전달의 크기는 레이저에 의한 복사 일전달과 기체 영의 화염에 의한 열전달을 동시에 고려하여야 한다. 그러나 언급하였던 것처럼 대부분의 이론적 연구는 추진제 표면의 온도 구매가 단열인 것으로 가정하여 진행하였다. 이러한 가정을 기체 영역으로부터 추진제로 전달되는 열전달 량이 작은 점소화초기 등에서 타당한 가정이나, 기체 영역에서 연소가 활발하게 진행되는 경우에는 비합리적인 가정이다. 본 연구에서는. 추진제의 응축 영역에서 분포 화학 반응이 발생하여, 기체 영역에서 화학반응에 의한 연소가 진행되는 경우, 복사 열전달의 교란에 대한 추진제의 응답함수를 수치적으로 계산하였다. 이때 기체 영역에서 발생하는 연소 반응은 De Luca 등에 의하여 제안된 실험적 모델인 $\alpha$ $\beta$ ${\gamma}$ 화염 모델을 사용하였으며, 추진제 표면에서의 열전달 균형에 의한 경계 조건을 사용하였다. 그러나 외부로부터 입사되는 복사광 레이저와 기체 영역의 상호 간섭은 고려하지 않았다. 수치 계산에 의한 응답 함수의 특징은 단열 조건이 사용된 이론적 응답 함수에 비하여 낮은 값을 나타내었으며, 최대치를 보이는 주파수 영역도 이론 함수에 비하여 다른 값을 보여주고 있다.연구 분석 결과 기술적 문제점으로는 배기 가스온도가 낮은데 따른 출구 부분의 Bearing, Sealing이 문제가 될 수 있다고 판단되며 배기 가스 자체에 대기 공기중에 함유되어 있던 습기가 얼어붙는(Icing화) 문제가 발생하기 때문에 배기가스의 Icing을 방지하기 위하여 압축기 끝단에서 공기를 추출하여 배기부분에 송출할 필요성이 있는 것으로 판단되었다. 출구가스의 기체 유동속도가 매우 빠르므로 (100-l10m.sec) 이를 완화하기 위한 디퓨저의 설계가 요구된다고 판단된다. 또 연소기 후방에 물을 주입하는 경우 열교환기 및 기타 부분품에 발생할 수 있는 부식 및 열교환 효율 저하도 간과할 수 없는 문제로 파악되었다. 이러한 기술적 문제가 적절히 해결되는 경우 비활성 가스 제너레이터는 민수용으로는 대형 빌딩, 산림, 유조선 등의 화재에 매우 적절히 사용되어 질 수 있을 뿐 아니라 군사적으로도 군사작전 중 및 공군 기지의 화재 그리고 지하벙커에 설치되어 있는 고급 첨단 군사 장비 등의 화재 뿐 아니라 대간첩작전 등에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 판단된다.가 작으며, 본 연소관에 충전된 RDX/AP계 추진제의 경우 추진제의 습기투과에 의한 추진제 물성 변화는 미미한 것으로 나타났다.의 향상으로, 음성개선에 효과적이라고 사료되었으며, 이 방법이 편측 성대마비 환자의 효과적인 음성개선의 치료방법의 하나로 응용될 수 있으리라 생각된다..7%), 혈액투석, 식도부분절제술 및 위루술·위회장문합술을 시행한 경우가 각 1례(2.9%)씩이었다. 13) 심각한 합병증은 9례(26.5%)에서 보였는데 그중 식도협착증이 6례(17.6%), 급성신부전증 1례(2.9%), 종격동기흉과 폐염이 병발한 경우와 폐염이 각 1례(2.9%)였다. 14

A Study on the Improement of Condensation and Boiling Heat Transfer on Horizontal Tube by Fin Effect(ll)-Shellside Condensation- (수평 원형전열관의 핀효과에 의한 응축 및 비등 열전달촉진에 관한 연구 (2)-튜브외부 응축-)

  • Heat transfer performance improvement by fin and grooves is studied for condensation of R-11 on integral-fin tubes. Eight tubes with trapezoidal shaped integral-fins having fin densities from 748 to 1654 fpm and 10, 30 grooves are tested. A plain tube having the same diameter as the finned tubes is also tested for comparison. R-11 condenses at saturation state of $32^{\circ}C$ on the outside tube surface cooled by inside water flow. All of test data ate taken at steady state. Beatty and Katz's, Rudy's and Webb's theoretical models are used to predict the R-11 condensation coefficient of tubes having 748, 1024 and 1299 fpm. The predicted value by Betty and Katz's model is within 10% of experimental values in this study at fpm<1024 and Rudy's model predicted the experimental data at fpm>1024 within 15%. The tube having fin density of 1299 fpm and 30 grooves has the best overall heat transfer performance. This tube shows the overall heat transfer coefficient of 11500 $W/m^{2}K$,/TEX> at coolant velocity of 3.0m/s.

The overall heat transfer coefficient of fin tube with caves is about 5155 W/mK at 2.8m/s of water velocity, The value is abuot 2.7 times higher than plain tube and 1.3 times higher than low fin tube having fin density of 1299fpm and 30 grooves.

An Experimental Study on Condensation Heat Transfer of Low-Finned Tubes (낮은 핀관 (low-fin tube)의 응축 열전달 성능에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Low-fin tubes are widely used to enhance condensation heat transfer. In this study, condensation heat transfer experiment was conducted on the low-fin tube using R-11. Three different fin densities-787 fpm (fins per meter), 1102 fpm. 1378 fpm-were tested. The results show that low-fin tube enhances the condensation heat transfer considerablely. The enhancement increases as the fin density increases. It was also found that the fin shape and height have a significant effect on the condensation heat transfer coefficient. Slender or high fins showed a higher condensing heat transfer coefficient compared with fat, low fins. For the tube with 1378 fpm, however, excessive fin height decreased the condensing heat transfer coefficient. The reason may be attributed to the increasing condensate retention angle as the fin density increases. The experimental data are compared with existing prediction models. Results show that Webb's surface tension model predicted the data best (within ${\pm}20%$), which confirms that surface tension plays the major role in low-fin tube condensation.

Condensation Heat Transfer Characteristics of HCFC - 123 inside Horizontal Smooth Tube (HCFC-123의 수평 평활관내 응축 전열 특성에 관한 연구)

  • Experimental data on the heat transfer characteristics of HCFC-123 and CFC-11 during condensation in horizontal smooth tube are presented. The experimental apparatus consisted of a closed working fluid loop, coolant loop, and measuring system. The major components of the working fluid loop made of a refrigerant pump, boiler, superheater, refrigerant flow meter, receiver and test section. The tube-in-tube type test section was made of smooth tube which were constructed form 9.52 mm outer diameter of smooth copper tube with 50 mm outside diameter of PVC tube duct. The ranges of parameter, such as refrigerant mass velocity, coolant flow rate, and quality were 90-325kg/($m^2$.s), 60-360kg/h, 5-95% respectively. Data were obtained under steady state condition for annular flow. As a result of these, the condensation heat transfer coefficients for HCFC-123 were slightly lower than those of CFC-11 from 8% to 15% inside horizontal smooth tube. Furthermore, a new generalized correlation for the heat transfer coefficients of HCFC-123 and CFC-11 during condensation inside horizontal smooth tube is proposed.

  • The objectives of this paper are to study the characteristics of heat transfer for enhanced tubes (19.05 mm) used in the condenser with high saturation temperatures and to provide a guideline for optimum design of a condenser using HFC134a. Three different enhanced tubes are tested at a high saturation temperature of $59.8^{\circ}C$ (16 bar); a low-fin and three turbo-C tubes.. The refrigerant, HFC134a is condensed on the outside of the tube while the cooling water flows inside the tube. The film Reynolds number varies from 130 to 330. The wall subcooling temperature ranges from $2.7^{\circ}C$ to $9.7^{\circ}C$. This study provides experimental heat transfer coefficients for condensation on the enhanced tubes. It is found that the turbo-C(2) tube provides the highest heat transfer coefficient.
