  • Generally, the mal factor for speech recognition is the background noise in speech recognition. The noise is the reason to reduce the speech recognition performance. Owing to the fact, the place to recognize is very important. To improve the recognition performance from the sound having noise, we implemented the noise filtered Wiener filter at the signal process step which adopted the FIR filter. In FIR filter, it deal with the filtered speech signal which is appropriate frequency range of human speech frequency range. Therefore, we make the recognition system distinguish between noise and speech sound from the incoming speech signal.

  • Due to metallicity of materials, a vessel has a limitation to adopt RF-based wireless communication technologies for the inner communication means. Visible Light Communication(VLC) can be a sound alternative to dissolve such a limitation. Using a visual light as a transmission medium, VLC is free from radio interferences and restriction of radio usages which are typically related to RF-based wireless communications. In addition, VLC can not only require the facility cost relatively low because of being possibly converged with existing LED illumination, but also be harmless to the human body. This paper proposes an indoor location-based emergency call service system solution for ships using the VLC technology that supports 256Kbps data rate and 5m transmission distance. This paper presents real implementation and testing results of the solution which verifies the propriety of the proposal.

  • As the number of elderly drivers increases, traffic accidents from the elderly also increase. In particular, the emergency situation of the elderly driver is not transmitted to the following vehicle during cloudy days and night highway accidents, so it is extended to the second and third accidents, leaving serious aftereffects. Therefore, there is an urgent need to establish an economic and effective inter-vehicle emergency communication system between the accident vehicle of the elderly and the following vehicles. In this paper, we have proposed a policy and method that can take advantage of the special emergency light pattern of an elderly driver in an emergency and transmit it to the following vehicles, thereby providing secondary accident prevention and emergency relief. Furthermore, by introducing an infrared emergency communication system between vehicles using red brake lights and implementing it as a prototype of RC-Car, we have checked the feasibility of the system.

  • This paper proposes a design of SARPE(Speed and Azimuth based Routing Protocol for Emergency) system which transfers an emergency message rapidly and accurately by minimizing path disconnection with a vehicle's speed and azimuth in case of accidents. The SARPE system accomplishes the path search based on an azimuth in order to minimize unnecessary messages and workload. It also selects the paths with the lowest probability that the path disconnection will happen by using the difference between the speed(maximum, minimum) of intermediate nodes and the average speed of a source node and destination node. Therefore, this paper minimizes the path resetting work happening due to path disconnection and transfers an emergency message rapidly and accurately.

  • In line with the sharp increase of container traffic from globalization, ships have become larger with an aim of improving the maritime transport capacity in addition to the growing interest in monitoring danger areas on ships considering the quantity increase of ships, along with the tightening of international standard for ship safety by IMO(international Maritime Organization). Korea established a location based ship accident forecasting and preventing system in 2012 by Korea Coast Guard, however its poor response in ship accidents has been pointed out in the wake of the recent disaster of Sewol ferry. To resolve this problem, this study attempts to design a wearable type, instant emergency response system that has DGPS to issue an alert on danger areas and automatically send ship's location and operation information in emergency situation.

  • In this paper, aim to suggest the medical information wireless transmission system to provide the mobility of medical service by means of wireless area network which makes it possible, home or at a long range, to check and oversee the state of patients, and to can out a simulation. The proposed method converts medical information to digital data in an emergency and sends them to mobile terminals such as PDAs to make possible swift first aid. The simulation took advantage of the OFDM transmission method based on IEEE 802.1la in order to send reliable medical information in mobile wireless channel environment, and analyzed the system performance by applying convolution encoding to transmit reliable information in AWGN and 3-ray mobile multipath fading channel environment.
