  • Test results of friction-factor for the flow of air in a narrow channel lined with various honeycomb geometries show that, generally, the friction-factor is nearly constant or slightly decreases as the Reynolds number(or Mach number) increases, a characteristic common to turbulent flow in pipes. However, in some test geometries this trend is remarkably different. The friction factor dramatically drops and then rises as the Mach number increases. This phenomenon can be characterized as a "friction-factor jump." Further investigations of the acoustic spectrum indicate that the "friction-factor jump" phenomenon is accompanied by an onset of a normal mode resonance excited coherent flow fluctuation structure, which occurs at Reynolds number of the order of $10^4$. New empirical friction-factor model for "friction-factor jump" cases is developed as a function of Mach number and local pressure.ach number and local pressure.

  • 본 논문에서는 Buck Converter 동작 원리를 이용한 Full-Bridge Inverter를 제안하였다. 제안한 Full-Bridge Inverter는 왼쪽 브리지와 오른쪽 브리지의 구동 주파수를 각각 저주파와 고주파로 구동하여 Buck Converter의 동작과 유사하게 하였다. 동작은 두 가지 모드로 구분되며, 이로 인해 램프에 저주파수 구형파를 인가한다. 램프를 저주파수 구형파로 구동하여 음향공명현상을 피하게 되었으며, 고주파 스위칭으로 인덕터의 부피를 줄였다. 제안한 방법은 시뮬레이션을 통해 증명하였다.

  • There are many theoretical investigations to analyze higher order mode of reactive type single expansion chambers with offset inlet/outlet locations. But the conventional method has the restriction that the ratio between the area of inlet(or outlet) pipe and that of chamber must be natural number. In the paper, a new method was suggested to apply the Kim's method to silencer with circular cross-section. Not only the offset location but also the magnitude of cross-section area of inlet/outlet pipe can be considered by the suggested method. The predictions by this new method also compared with those by the finite element method and Munjal's method in order to verify the accuracy of the suggested method presented here.

  • Vibration and sound characteristics of King Song-Dok Bell are measured and the modal property is investigated. The effect of striking position and modal property on the beat characteristics is examined. It is first found that the beat characteristics are quite different according to the position on the bell surface and clear beat is periodically generated on the circumference. It turns out that in King Song-Dok Bell, striking Dangjwa(the present striking position) makes a beat in the first vibration mode, as well as it produces very clear beat in the second vibration mode.

  • The sound quality of the car audio system is affected by the serveral factors such as the dimensions of the room, the boundary condition of the wall, the location of the speakers, etc. Among these factors, the location of the car speakers has been focused to find the best location of the car speakers assuming that the flat response is better. To verify the suggestion, the subjective test is adopted using 10 people. The developed method is utilizd to evaluate the function of the audio system with fixed speaker position.

  • This paper presents a practical method for reduction of interior noise and improvement of sound quality in compartment of passenger car. The tested vehicle has a booming noise problem at rear passenger seats. In order to identify the transfer path of interior noise, the running modal analysis, the vibro-acoustic frequency transfer response and the noise path analysis are systematically employed. Using these various methods, it has been founded that the rear part of the roof of the test car was a noise source for the booming noise. Through the modification of the roof, the booming noise has been reduced and sound quality inside car also has been improved.

  • The object of this article is to study the plausibility of applying human voice warning system to automobiles. Human voice is considered the best tool for warning system in automobiles. For the purpose of comprehending the specific characteristics of relation between noises and properties of the automobiles indoors and voice warning system researcher performed FRF test in order to examine the characteristics of voice output, and FEM simulation to learn the specific properties of the car indoors. And furthermore, surveyed the quality of voice output, using the written inquiry to examine members. The result of the study shows that it is much possible to apply voice warning system to automobiles.

  • 용접공정 해석을 위한 접근방법중에서 우선적으로 결정해야할 사항으로는 비선형적인 요소와 복잡한 물리현상들을 실제적으로 해석하기위한 측정변수의 선정과 이러한 변수를 사용하여 물리적인 현상을 적절히 표현할 수 있는 알고리즘의 개발 등 을 들 수 있다. 최근까지의 연구결과를 바탕으로 해서 측정변수들의 예를 들면 용접 전류(welding current), 아크전압(arc voltage), 음향신호(acoustic signal), 아크 광(arc light) 그리고 온도(temperature)등이 있다. 용접공정을 분석하기 위한 알고 리즘으로는 확률론적 접근(statistical approach), 다양한 실험치를 이용한 인공지능 적 접근(artificial intelligence approach) 그리고 경험치를 바탕으로 인덱스(index) 을 선정하여 이를 직접 사용하는 방법 및 인공지능과 결합된 형태를 이용하는 방법등 이 있다. 또한 용접공정의 특성을 분석하기 위해서는 크게 금속이행모드(metal transfer mode), 아크의 안정성(arc stability) 그리고 용접품질(weld quality) 등을 판별할 수 있는 알고리즘의 개발이 필수적이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 용접공정 분석과 관련된 최근까지의 연구동향 및 용접신호의 특성을 좀더 심도있게 분석하기 위해 구축해야 할 필수 요건 등을 소개하고자 하며 이를 사용자가 손쉽게 이용할 수 있는 사용자 인터페이스 프로그램을 개괄적으로 설명하고자 한다.

  • A finite element method is used for analyzing the resonant characteristics of three- dimensional wind tunnel with circular cross section. The resonant frequencies of wind tunnel is nearly constant in Mach number range of 0.0-0.2. The resonant frequencies and modes of three-dimensional low speed wind tunnel have been calculated. The 20-node isoparametric element gives accurate results compared with the experimental results.

  • We simulated Frequency-shifted feedback laser using AOM inside the cavity. We analyze instantaneous oscillation frequency at peak spectral intensity and Comb bandwidth of output spectrum from Wigner-Ville distribution of intracavity electric field. The Comb bandwidth is defined as the product of the saturation-broadened bandwidth and the total resonant modes contributing to FSF operation.
