Study on Cooperative Communication for Underwater Acoustic Channels (수중음향 채널에서의 협력통신에 대한 연구)

  • In this paper, we analyze the performance of cooperative communication techniques on an underwater channel. By analyzing the BER performance of cooperative transmission protocol and combining types ERC, FRC, SNRC and ESNRC on underwater channel, through the result, we can choose an a proper cooperative technique for an underwater channel. The analysis of BER performance is achieved by a computer simulation.

Performance Analysis of CDMA and OFDM on Underwater Acoustic Environments (수중 음향 환경에 따른 CDMA와 OFDM 성능 분석)

  • This paper compares and analyzes advantages and disadvantages of CDMA(code division multiple access) and OFDM(orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) transmission techniques for underwater acoustic channel environments. Computer simulations were carried out in various underwater acoustic channels with varying r.m.s.(root mean square) delay, doppler frequency and the number of multipaths. When r.m.s. delay and doppler frequency are within the tolerance of designed transmission schemes, the computer simulations show that CDMA has better BER performance than that of the OFDM. However, when the doppler frequency exceeds the tolerance, BER performance of the CDMA decreases.

Two regularization constant selection methods for recursive least squares algorithm with convex regularization and their performance comparison in the sparse acoustic communication channel estimation (볼록 규준화 RLS의 규준화 상수를 정하기 위한 두 가지 방법과 희소성 음향 통신 채널 추정 성능 비교)

  • We develop two methods to select a constant in the RLS (Recursive Least Squares) with the convex regularization. The RLS with the convex regularization was proposed by Eksioglu and Tanc in order to estimate the sparse acoustic channel. However the algorithm uses the regularization constant which needs the information about the true channel response for the best performance. In this paper, we propose two methods to select the regularization constant which don't need the information about the true channel response. We show that the estimation performance using the proposed methods is comparable with the Eksioglu and Tanc's algorithm.

Analysis of the Acoustic Performance of Classrooms in Korea (국내 학교 교실의 실내음향성능 실태조사)

  • The basic unit of school is a classroom and the aural environment of the classrooms is essential factor for education purposes. Therefore, many efforts have been undertaken for enhancing the acoustical performance of the classrooms in many countries. As a result, acoustic criteria including reverberation time and background noise level have been established in US and UK for school classrooms depending on the usage and size of the rooms. However, in Korea, there has been little researches concerning the room acoustical investigations of the classrooms. The present study investigates the current situation of the aural environment of the 15 classrooms in Korea including elementary, middle and high schools. The acoustic criteria measured include RT, $D_{50}$, STI, SNR and background noise level. As the results, it was found that the background noise levels of the schools adjacent to roads exceed the US and UK standard of 35 dB(A). Also, most schools have so low SNR that they may be interfered by noise, which may affect speech transmission. It was also revealed that some schools have longer RT than the US standard of 0.6 s, but they all have high speech intelligibility.

Evaluation of floor impact sound and airborne sound insulation performance of cross laminated timber slabs and their toppings (구조용 직교 집성판 슬래브와 상부 토핑 조건에 따른 바닥충격음 및 공기전달음 평가)

  • Demand for wood in construction is increasing worldwide. In Korea, technical reviews of high-rise Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) buildings are under way. In this paper, Floor Impact Sound Insulation Performance (FISIP) and Transmission Loss (TL) of 150 mm thick CLT floor panels made of two domestic species, Larix kaempferi and Pinus densiflora, are investigated. The CLT slabs were tested in reverberation chambers connected vertically. When comparing Single Number Quantity (SNQ) of FISIP of the bare panels, the Larix CLT is 3 dB lower in heavy-weight and 1 dB in light-weight than the Pinus CLT. However, there was no difference when concrete toppings were added to improve the performance. As the concrete toppings became thicker, the heavy-weight was reduced by 9 dB ~ 20 dB, and the light-weight by 20 dB ~ 30 dB. And the analysis of these results with area density has confirmed that the area densities are highly correlated (R2 = 0.94 ~ 0.99) to the FISIP of the CLT. The types of CLT didn't affect the TL. Comparison of theoretical TL values with measured TL values has shown that the frequency characteristics are similar but 8 dB ~ 12 dB lower in measured values. The relationship between the TL and frequency characteristics of the tested CLT slabs was derived by using the correction value.

Performance estimation of underwater tracking system by using CRLB (CRLB를 이용한 수중운동 추적체계 설계성능)

  • 수중운동 추적체계의 추적 성능은 표적에 부착된 핑거로부터의송신음향이 수중센서에 도달하기 까지의 시지연과, 해저에 부설된 각 센서가 시지연을 이용하여 기하학적으로 계산하는 LOP를 얼마나 정확하게 추출하느냐에 달려있다. 본 논문에ㅓ는 수중운동 추출하느냐에 달려있다. 본 논문에서는 수중운동 추적체계의 추적성능을 예측하기 위하여 먼저 CRLB를 이용한 시지연 예측오차의 기준경계식을 유도하고, 임의 표적운도에 이를 적용시켜 추적거리오차를 추출하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과, 표적이 원형 기동하는 경우보다 직선 기동하는 경우에 표적위치에 따라 오차의변화가 더 심하고, 수중운동 추적체계의 이론적 설계성능은 주파수 대역에 의해 영향을 가장 많이 받음을 확인하였다. 한편 4km*4km 범위의 수중센서 패턴을 사용하고 주파수 대역폭을 200Hz로 취한 경우 시간지연에 의한 수중운동 추적체계의 이론적 추적오차는 0.24m 이내로 시뮬레이션 되었다.

  • 자동차 및 유체기계의 흡기계나 배기계에 사용되는 소음기의 음향 성능은 전달손실로 기계성능은 배압으로 표현된다. 유체가 흐르는 관 사이의 임피던스 부정합을 이용하는 반사형 소음기의 경우, 내부 유로에 천공을 주어 음향 감쇠를 시키거나 유동을 안정시키는 경우가 많다. 본 연구에서는 동심관형 공명기의 내부 관에 존재하는 천공의 분포양상이 공명기 내부의 유동장에 어떤 영향을 미치며, 그 유동장의 변화에 따라서 소음기의 성능에 어떠한 영향을 미치게 되는지를 고찰하였다. (중략)
