  • The overall noise reduction was compared in regard to the vibrational characteristics of floor impact noise in a multi story residential building which has several noise reduction treatments. The vibration through its structural elements such as wall, floor and ceiling and sound emitting were investigated for each insulation treatment. It was found that, in case of heavy-weight impact noise, the vibration energy is emitted mostly from ceiling, but for the light-weight impact noise, most of the energy comes through ceiling and walls.   • In order to control the railway noise, the radiation characteristic of the noise during the train passage should be analyzed. Generally, the major noise sources for Korean Train Express are the rolling noise and power unit noise up to 300km/h. In this paper, we describe on a train model that is considered to be a row of point sources to calculate the radiation characteristic. The calculation results are compared with short distance measurement. (omitted)

  • The effect of the joint condition of automotive muffler shell and baffle on radiated noise from muffler shell Is studied. Shell vibration characteristics, especially shift In natural frequency and change in of response amplitude, was identified from finite element analysis and modal tests for various joint conditions between shell and baffle. When there is heat expansion and inner pressure from the exhaust 9as in the muffler with elliptical cross section, the shell expands out, and construct gap with baffles. This gap causes more degrees of freedom of shell vibration and natural frequency shift. By welding the muffler shell to the baffles or using a dual shell muffler, the radiated noise problem could be mitigated supplying more a rigid joint and damping, respectively.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the dynamic characteristics of a motor-die in washing machine and provide quantitative design information needed for reduction of radiated sound from the motor-die. To perform the design analysis, dynamic characteristics are identified by motor-die modeling and the availability of model is verified by experimental modal analysis. Numerical approach using MSC/NASTRAN and SYSNOISE predicted sound attenuation effects according to the change of design parameters, such as thickness, concentrated mass and rib. The numerical results due to the rib attachment showed the significant noise attenuation effects over 15 dB in the frequency range of 450∼700 Hz.

  • 본 연구에서는 소음원 및 진동원을 규명하기 위하여 사용되어 온 종래의 주파 수응답함수(Frequency Response Function`FRF)법과 소음원 및 진동원 간에 강한 상관 관계가 존재한 경우에 사용되는 기여도함수(coherence function)법을 이용한 다차원 스텍트럼해석(Multi-Dimensional Spectral Analysis`MDSA)법에 의하여 가속도응답 및 방사음과의 기여관계를 규명하였다.

  • Change in lantency of otoacoustic emission(OAE) may indicate clinically and diagnostically important change in the status of the nervous system. A low signal-to-noise ratio of OAE signal makes it difficult to estimate small, transient, time-varing changes in latency. we present an adaptive algorithm that estimates small latency change value even when OAE signal amplitudes are time-varing.

  • 본 논문에서는 주변 소음을 감소시키고 표적원의 방사음으로부터 tonal 성분을 추출하기 위한 방법으로서 잡음 정규화 기법에 대하여 연구하였다. 지금까지 알려진 기법들을 정리하였으며, ATW, 최빈치 필터등의 새로운 기법을 도입, 적용하여 그 성능을 평가하였다. 그리고 tonal 성분을 검출하기 위한 임계값 결정을 위해 오경보확률과 검출확률을 시뮬레이션을 통해 구하였다.

  • The proposed algorithm deals with a detection problem of target echo for narrow-band continuous-wave active sonar in the underwater environment in this paper. In the active sonar systems, ping signal emitted for target detection produces a signal that consists of multiple reflections by many scatterers around, which is called reverberation. The proposed algorithm aims to detect the low-Doppler target echo in the reverberant environment. The proposed algorithm estimates the bearing, frequency, and temporal bases based on beamspace-domain multichannel nonnegative matrix factorization. In particular, the bases are divided into two basis groups - the reverberation group and the echo group, then the basis groups are estimated independently. In order to evaluate the proposed algorithm, a simulation with synthesized reverberation was performed. The results show that the proposed algorithm has enhanced performance than the conventional algorithms.

Analysis of Relative Contributions of Tonal Noise Sources in Volute Tongue Region of a Centrifugal Fan (원심팬 볼루트 영역내 순음 소음원의 상대적 기여도 분석)

  • Interaction between the unsteady flow emitted from the blade of the centrifugal fan and the volute tongue region of fan duct is known as the main noise source of the centrifugal fan. In this paper, the relative contributions of the volute tongue region of the centrifugal fan is analyzed to utilize as the foundation data of low noise design. The internal hybrid CAA (Computational Aero-Acoustics) method is used to predict noise radiated from the main noise source. This method is the noise prediction technique using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics), Acoustic analogy, and BEM(Boundary Element Method). The relative contributions of the centrifugal fan volute tongue region using the hybrid CAA method show that the region between the cut-off and the scroll has high contribution than the region between the cut-off and the outlet and the hub region of blade has high contribution than the shroud region of blade. These results is utilized as the important data for the development of low noise centrifugal fan.
