A generation of Optimal Path Passing through Shadow Volume in Terrain (지형에서의 음영공간을 통과하는 최적경로 생성)

  • I intend to seek the shortest path which an aircraft safely flies to its destination through the shadow volume of three dimensional terrain which propagation does not extend. Herein, I propose a method in which a relatively wide shadow volume is divided with a polygon type of block polygon, a path up to the intermediate destination is sought in the divided block polygons according to the weight, and then, the shortest path up to the final destination is sought by repeating courses for seeking a destination again from the adjacent polygon based on the starting point of the intermediate destination within the divided polygon. The shortest path was searched by using the revised algorithms which apply to a critical angle from graph growth algorithms on the shadow volume which propagation on the actual three dimensional terrain does not extend to. The experiment shows that a method proposed in this paper creates effective flying curves.

Space-Frequency Block Coded OFDMA Transmission System using Multiple Relays for Shadow Area (음영 지역을 위한 다중 중계기 기반의 주파수 공간 블록 부호화 OFDMA 전송 시스템)

  • In order to cope with shadow areas and to extend cell coverage, relay-assisted wireless communication systems have been widely studied. In this paper, we propose a space-frequency(SF) block coded orthogonal frequency division multiple access(OFDMA) transmission system in a relaying multi-path shadow area. The receiving performance of mobile station in a shadow area can be improved by applying SF block code to the recovered signals of multiple relays before re-transmitting them. The simulation result shows that the proposed SF block coded OFDMA transmission system considerably outperforms the conventional single-path OFDMA transmission system.

  • In the actuality that the various services are provided in connection with the network of internet by activating the communication using Propagation, the importance of the feature point and chase of an object is greatly raised to increase the quality of the detection and tracking of the communication service. This paper is to detect the shadow space by using Snakes Algorithms and Present a system's base which tracts the route from start to target points in the detected shadow space as a study for the detection and tracking the shadow space which does not reach the propagation.

Mipmap-Based Deferred Soft Shadow Mapping (밉맵 기반의 지연된 부드러운 그림자 매핑)

  • Deferred Shading is a shading technique that postprocesses pixels in the screen space, following geometry-only rendering passes with depth buffering. Unlike typical shadow mapping techniques, this technique allows us to render shadows from multiple light sources without changing the structure of the rendering pipelines. This paper presents a deferred shadow mapping technique and its extension to soft shadows using mipmapping. Our technique first generates visibility maps from light sources, and blurs the visibility maps for deferred shading. This strategy leads to efficient soft-edged shadows, but does not incorporate depth variation, producing light bleeding to some extent. In order to suppress the light-bleeding artifacts, we also propose a depth-adaptive mipmap sampling technique in the screen space.

  • An area light source in the three dimensional space shines past a scene polygon, to generate two types of shadow volumes for each scene polygon, i.e., one with partial occlusion and the other with the complete occlusion. These are called, penumbra and umbra, respectively. In this paper, consider the problem for computing the umbra of a convex polygon from convex quadric light sources such as circles, ellipses, spheres, ellipsoids and cylinders. First, we give characteristics of the boundary surfaces of the umbra and then propose an algorithm for generating the umbra using them.

Flood Monitoring and Extraction of Water Area Using Multi-temporal RADARSAT SAR Imagery (RADARSAT SAR 영상을 이용한 수계지역 추출 및 홍수지역 모니터링)

  • 본 연구에서는 각각 1998년 8월 12일(홍수 발생시), 8월 19일(홍수 발생 후) 옥천, 보은 지역을 촬영한 RADARSAT SAR 위성영상을 이용하여 수계지역 및 홍수지역 분류를 수행하고자 하였다. 이를 위해, 먼저 두 장의 위성영상에 대해서 각각 스페클 잡영(speckle noise)을 제거하고, ${\sigma}^0$(sigma naught, dB)을 계산한 후 수계지역에 대한 ${\sigma}^0$값을 분석하였다. 이 값을 기준으로 각각 두 장의 위성영상에서 각각 최대우도법을 이용하여 수계지역을 분류하였다. SAR 영상은 영상취득의 원리에 의해 지형의 기복에 따른 음영효과(shadow effect)가 발생하는데, 음영효과가 발생하는 지역의 ${\sigma}^0$값은 수계지역과 비슷한 반사특성(낮은 dB 값)을 보인다. 따라서 지형의 기복이 심한 지역의 수계지역 분류시 음영효과를 제거해야 효과적적인 분류를 할 수 있으며, 이를 위해 위성의 헤더자료로부터 촬영시 각각의 촬영중심을 계산하고, 촬영중심과 지상좌표와의 기하학적 관계를 고려하여 음영효과를 제거하였다. 마지막으로, 수계지역만이 추출된 영상에 대해 영상의 기하보정을 수행하였으며, 기하 보정된 두장의 위성영상에 대해 차분영상를 생성함으로서 홍수지역을 분류하였다.

Space-Frequency Block Coded Relay Transmission System for a Shadow Area (음영 지역을 위한 주파수 공간 블록 부호화 중계기 전송 시스템)

  • Relay-assisted wireless communication systems have been studied widely to cope with shadow areas and extend the cell coverage. This paper proposes a space-frequency (SF) block coded single carrier-frequency division multiple access (SC-FDMA) transmission system in a relaying multi-path shadow area and present the performance comparison of SC-FDMA systems based on the signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) between a relay and a destination station. The performance of relaying SC-FDMA systems can be improved by applying SF block code to the recovered signals of relays before re-transmitting them. The simulation result showed that the SNR performance of the proposed SF block coded relaying SC-FDMA system was approximately 5 dB better than the SNR performance of the single-path relaying SC-FDMA system at a symbol error rate (SER) of $10^{-2}$.

  • HMS(Hull Mounted Sonar) 운용 시 수중음속구조의 영향에 의한 음파가 경계면(해저면, 해수면)의 반사를 통해서 근거리 음영구역(short range shadow zone)을 발생시킨다(그림 1). 따라서 본 논문에서는 다양한 수중음파탐지 무기체계 가운데 특히 단상태 (monostatic) 조건일 때 HMS에 의해 발생하는 근거리 음영구역을 최소화하는 방안을 연구하였다. 즉, 2차원 수중공간 (수심-거리)에서 빔형성기법 (beamforming)을 이용한 HMS Vertical Scanning (HMS Verscan) 기법을 제안하여 수치 실험을 수행하였다. 수치실험을 위해 HMS 운용환경에 근접한 고주파 음선모델(BELLHOP)과 잔향음 모델(HYREV)을 이용하였다. 그 결과 HMS Verscan 기법은 수평방향의 음파방사에 의해 주로 발생하는 근거리 음영구역으로 해저반사를 통하여 음파를 전달시켰고, 근거리 음영 구역에 숨어있는 표적의 탐지가능성을 높였다. 또한 실제 산란환경을 고려한 수치실험 결과에서도 부분적으로 표적이 탐지가 됨으로써 HMS Verscan 기법의 근거리 음영구역의 감소효과를 확인하였다.

Face Illumination Normalization based on Illumination-Separated Face Identity Texture Subspace (조명영향 분리 얼굴 고유특성 텍스쳐 부분공간 기반 얼굴 이미지 조명 정규화)

  • Robust face recognition under various illumination environments is difficult to achieve. For robust face recognition with respect to illumination variations, illumination normalization of face images is usually applied as a preprocessing step. Most of previously proposed illumination normalization methods cannot handle cast shadows in face images effectively. In this paper, We propose a new face illumination normalization method based on the illumination-separated face identity texture subspace. Since the face identity texture subspace is constructed so as to be separated from the effects of illumination variations, the projection of face images into the subspace produces a good illumination-normalized face images. Through experiments, it is shown that the proposed face illumination normalization method can effectively eliminate cast shadows as well as attached shadows and achieves a good face illumination normalization.
