  • British acoustics in the nineteenth century is important as a foundation for modern acoustics in the history of acoustics. The Purpose and objective of acoustics was different from those in modern age. and musical motivation was distinguished among them. This study intends to clarify various aspects of interaction between music and acoustics in nineteenth-century Britain by examining related materials in both published and unpublished forms. Then music Provided acoustics with instruments, subjects, and personnel, and acoustics did much as musical science in helping to improve and develop musical scales and enhancing the exactness of measurement of absolute pitches. Music played an essential role in developing acoustics to a modern discipline in Europe, especially in Britain. all through the nineteenth century.

  • The present study is purposed to establish a systematic theory for user-friendly approach to the creation of using a programming language using Csound. Csound is a world-wide computer music programming language and a software synthesizer specialized for prominent sound designers developed by Barry Vercoe at the Media Laboratory in M.I.T. The introduction and the main body of this paper suggested as the starting point of creating electronic music and musical sound the time of combination of music with natural sound or sound from specific media from the viewpoint of traditional Western music. and presents a systematic method composed of the principle of the operation of Csound and basic data samples.

  • Vibrato means periodic variations of various characteristics in sound wave. Because it causes special tonal effects, it plays and important role in musical performance. But when we examine the cases of scientific study about the vibrato that has been done until now, the cases were focused just on acoustic analysis of vibrato, so they didn't disclose the correlation between the results of analysis and the musical factors concerning actual performance. So this paper attempts to analyze violin vibrato acoustically, and find out the interrelation between the results and the various musical factors of violin performance.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the perceived emotion of music according to cognitive styles of music listening. A total of 91 music-related graduate students participated in this study. They were given a questionnaire about perceived emotions of music, musical elements, and Music Empathizing-Music Systemizing Inventory. To analyze statistically, Descriptive statistics, paired t-test, ANalysis Of VAriance (ANOVA), multi-variate analysis, and Pearson correlation analysis were conducted. Results showed that participants had relatively universal experience in perceived emotions of both types of music, and also showed that musical elements contributed to the experience differed by cognitive styles of music listening.

  • In this paper, we describe the comparison between the combination of features using a speech and music discrimination, which is classifying between speech and music on audio signals. Audio signals are classified into 3classes (speech, music, speech and music) and 2classes (speech, music). Experiments carried out on three types of feature, Mel-cepstrum, energy, zero-crossings, and try to find a best combination between features to speech and music discrimination. We using a Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) for discrimination algorithm and combine different features into a single vector prior to modeling the data with a GMM. In 3classes, the best result is achieved using Mel-cepstrum, energy and zero-crossings in a single feature vector (speech: 95.1%, music: 61.9%, speech & music: 55.5%). In 2classes, the best result is achieved using Mel-cepstrum, energy and Mel-cepstrum, energy, zero-crossings in a single feature vector (speech: 98.9%, music: 100%).

  • In this study we suggested a digital filter method to enhance car audio sound quality against the sound distortion due to cabin's acoustic characteristics and car driving noises. The digital filters designed were based on the characteristics on car driving noises and cabin acoustic characteristics. Car driving noises were analyzed by two ways; one is an objective method, octave band frequency analysis method. The other is a subjective method; sensory evaluation method, NCB method. On these results, seven sets of modified coefficients of eleven band digital filters were obtained. To find optimum audio sound quality among nine sound samples filtered by designing seven types of digital filters, which were mixed car driving noises at 100km/h, subjective evaluation method was used, paired comparison method; Scheffe' seven point method.

  • We developed a electronic music glove (BMG) system that plays musical scores in real time processing. The EMG system interfaces with the signal coming from the controller to the sound card in the computer, The computer, according to the status of the fingers and foot switches, generates the sound signals and sends them to the speaker systems through the application C++ program and MIDI message. The EMG systems control the velocity and duration of sound and several musical performance expressions such as chorus, reverberation, rhythm, and volume. Finally, we implemented the digital drum set using: the EMG system as example.

  • In this paper, we propose a music classification system according to user emotions using Electroencephalogram (EEG) features that appear when listening to music. In the proposed system, the relationship between the emotional EEG features extracted from EEG signals and the auditory features extracted from music signals is learned through a deep regression neural network. The proposed system based on the regression model automatically generates EEG features mapped to the auditory characteristics of the input music, and automatically classifies music by applying these features to an attention-based deep neural network. The experimental results suggest the music classification accuracy of the proposed automatic music classification framework.
