A Study on Disease and Medical Theory of Soyangin Bisoohan-pyohanbyung-theory (소양인(少陽人) 비수한표한병론(脾受寒表寒病論)의 병증(病證) 및 약리(藥理)에 대한 연구(硏究))

  • 1. Purpose : This study is a try for making a historical examinatiom of the symptom, principal medicinal substances and prescription of Soyangin Bisoohan-Pyohan disease. 2. Methods : I have examined the changes of the recognition of symptom and the history of the development of prescription by comparing the exterior syndrome of Soyangin, related prescription and principal medicinal substances quoted in "DongYi-Soose-Bowon" with past original texts and "DongYi Bogam". 3. Results and Conclusion : Lee Je-Ma adopted most of the exterior syndrome of Soyangin from Zhang Zhong-jung's "Shanghanlun". But he adopted only a few medicinal substances for prescription and most of prescriptions written after the Song period. The prescriptions for Soyangin Bisoohan-Pyohan disease are fundamentally composed of medicinal substances to lower yinqi and to eliminate the heat of thoracic part caused acording to the degree of symptom and medicinal substances to strengthen damaged yinqi are added to the prescriptions.

  • As considering a study of the So-um-In and So-yang-In desease, I know each of Extra-disease (表病) and Intra-disease (裏病). I takes serious view of the Extra-Intra-Um-Yang-Up-Down (表裏陰陽升降). I try to join costitutional disease to the parts of human body, which base on the theory on Sa-sang constituional Medicine. And I make some diagrams of them. They could be summerized as follows. 1.The Extra-qi (表氣) is four-viscera (四臟) and four back parts of hurman body (後四海). The Intra-qi (裏氣) is four-digestive organs (四腑) and four fore parts of human body (前四海). 2. It is important that Yang-qi (陽氣) go up at So-um-In Extra-disease (少陰人 表病) and Um-qi (陰氣) go down at So-yang-In Extra-disease (少陽人 表病). And It is important that Um-qi (陰氣) go down at So-um-In Intra-disease (少陰人 裏病) and Yang-qi of Large Intestine (大關局) go up at So-yang-In Intra-disese (少陽人 裏病). 3. Looking into the Extra-disease, ◈ Sin-Yang-Gon-Yiel (腎陽困熱) and Ha-Cho-Chuk-Hyel (下篇蓄血) of So-um-In disease are the disease that Yang-qi don't go up from the buttock. So-Yang-sang-Pung (少陽傷風) of So-yang-In disease is the disease that Um-qi don't go down from the upper back. ◈ Yui-Ga-Sil (胃家室) of So-um-In disease is the disease that Yang-qi don't go up from the lower abdomen Gyel-Hung (結胸) of So-yang-In disease is the disease that Um-qi don't go down from the thorax. ◈ Mang-Yang (亡陽) of So-um-In disease is the disease that Yang-qi don't go up from Intra-qi so it go out to the Extra-qi. Mang-Um (亡陰) of So-yang-In disease is the disease that Um-qi don't go down from the Extra-qi so it go into the Extra-qi. ◈ Dea-Jang-Pa-Han of So-um-In disease and Sim-Ha-Gyel-Hung (心下結胸) of So-yang-In desease are half of Extra-qi and Inrea-qi. 4. Looking into the Intra-disease, ◈ The Intra-disease of So-um-In is Tae-um symtom (太陰證) and So-um symtom (少陰證). The So-um symtom is more severe than Tae-um symtom because a cold wave of Large Intestine (大腸冷氣) involve a warm wave of Stomach (胃局). ◈ The Intra-disease of So-yang-In is not to go up Yang-qi of Large Intestine. Deficit of Yang-qi from Large Intestine which go up at Stomach is more sever than deficit of Yang-qi from Stomach which go up at extremes.

The Bibliographical Investigation of the Vernalizatin of Barley (맥류(麥類)의 춘화처리(春化處理)에 대한 사상의학적 고찰 -농가월령(農家月令)을 중심으로-)

  • 'Maek(麥)' which means a barley at present is used as a general name of the kinds of 'Maek(麥)' including barley, what, rye, and so on. However 'Maek(麥)' had meant a wheat when the letter of 'Maek(麥)' had been created at the beginning. And gradually 'Maek(麥)' has been used as a word for the both meaning of a wheat and barley, and now a days become a word only for the meaning of a barley. Therefore 'Mo-Maek' should be translated into 'a wheat and barley', although it is translated into only a barley. In Korea, according to 'Nong-ga-wol-ryung(農家月令)' of Ko, Sang-un(高尙顔) in 1619, the vernalization had been utilized practically 300 years earlier than the Western countries. It is based on a concept of the oriental medicine that a 'Maek(麥)' of the spring seedtime, which keeps the only warmth('Won-yeol-ji-ki(溫熱之氣) (陽氣)' during the growth period in spring-summer time, has less vigorous than a 'Maek(麥)' of the autumn seedtime, which keeps the cold, hot, warmth equally 'Yeol-won-yang-han-ji-ki(溫熱凉寒之氣) (陽氣+陰氣)' during the growth period in the four seasons. If a autumn seedtime barley but which is actually not sowed on time in autumn season is sowed in the spring after the treatment of cold condition (陰氣 autumn-winter condition) artificially, it would be avoided from the abnormal phenomenon that a barley could not come to fruition in case of non-treated seed. Thus as a result of this the agricultural productivity has been able to be improved. An barley is recommended as a food for Um-chung-ji-ki(陰淸之氣) to be served as Bo-myung-ji-ju(保命之主) to be Soyangin. And a wheat which is used as an ingredient of bread because of its expanding feature is a suitable food for Ho-san-ji-ki(呼散之氣) to be served as Bo-myung-ji-ju(保命之主)to the Taeumin.

  • 소음제어대책 수립시, 흡음구조는 공조용소음기, 공업용소음기, Enclosure, 실 내 흡음판등에 폭넓게 이용되고 있다. 흡음구조의 재료중 글라스울은 뛰어난 흡음성능과 고온에서의 내구성 및 난연성등으로 인하여 여러 흡음재료중에 서 가장 많이 이용되고 있으나 글라스율 미립자의 비산 및 강도문제로 글라 스율에 글라스 클로스(Glass Cloth), P.E.Film등과 같은 글라스울 비산방지막 과 유공함석판을 붙인 흡음구조체로 제작하여 이용하는 것이 일반적이다. 국 내외적으로 글라스울만의 흡음율 데이타는 각종 문헌등에 많이 발표되어 있 으나 글라스울에 글라스울 비산방지막과 유공함석판을 붙인 흡음구조체의 흡음율데이타는 거의 없는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 글라스울 흡음구 조체의 글라스울의 밀도, 글라스울 비산방지막의 종류, 유공함석판의 유공치 수 등에 따른 흡음특성을 잔향실법 흡음율측정방법에 의해 측정 평가하고 이들을 상호 비교검토하여 각종 소음 제어대책의 기초 설계자료로 제시하고 자 한다.

  • 1. Objectives This paper was written in order ro understand the conception on YangQi and YinQi in Sasang Constitutional Medicine. Specially that were focused on the discourse of the symptoms and diseases. 2. Methods We analysis YangQi and YinQi in Gabobon(甲午本) and Sinchukbon(辛丑本) of ${\ulcorner}$Dongyi Suse Bowon${\lrcorner}$ 3. Results and Conclusions The symptomatic-pharmacology of Soeunin and Soyangin was base on the master of reserving life(保命之主). YangQi is ascending Qi and YinQi is descending Qi. that conception is Qi of the large and small organ. And that is appeared hot or cold Qi in body. The influential competition of YinYang is focused on primordial Qi(正氣) of small organ in Gabobon. And focused on small organ's the primordial Qi of the exterior disease and large that of the interior disease in Sinchukbon. YangQi is divided to physiological that and patholgical that at the discourse on the Soyangin’s interior disease in the Sinchukbon. Because YinQi is in proportion to physiological YangQi and inverse proportion to pathological YangQi, physiological that is similar to weak and strong of YinQi that is the master of reserving life. So ascending Yang of Soyangin is more correct as ascending physiological that. YinQi is not divided to physiologica that and patholgical that at the discourse on the Soeumin's interior disease in the Sinchukbon like Soyangin's that. But there is more reasonable that divid physiological YinQi and patholgical that. So descending Yin of Soeumin is more correct as descending physiological that.

A Study on Stonemason and Style of the Stele for State Preceptor Doseon and Seon Master Sumi (<도선국사·수미선사비>의 제작 장인과 양식 연구)

  • The Stele for State Preceptor Doseon and Seon Master Sumi of Dogapsa Temple in Yeongam was erected in the fourth month of 1653. It was made with stone obtained from Yeosan(present-day Yeosan-myeon, Iksansi), and contains an inscription - engraved in the spring of 1651 - commemorating the two priests. The project to erect the monument was led by eminent monks, including Gakseong and Sucho, with the support of royal patrons and powerful statesmen including Prince Inpyeong(1622~1658). This monument is thought to be the first of its kind to have a capstone in the shape of a 'dragon loop' handle of the kind traditionally attached to the top of a temple bell. Stone stelae with a dragon-loop-shaped capstone continued to be used by the royalty and nobility of Joseon until the 18th century. The inscription engraved on the rear face of the monument reveals that it was made by Jo Mal-ryong, a renowned stonemason who worked on stone monuments and figures for royal tombs in the mid-Joseon period. He is known as the only stonemason to have been awarded the third highest rank(Jeong-sampum) of government, including the posts of Grand Master(Tongjeong Daebu) and General(Jeolchung Janggun), as recorded in the inscription. The monument corroborates the prevalent view that he was the creator of monumental capstones of the highest aesthetic merit in Joseon, and provides valuable insights about the leading artisans who produced monumental stones for royal tombs in the 17th century. This particular monument is highly regarded as a valuable historical relic because of the detailed information contained in the inscription, including the dates, work processes, patrons and artisans related with its creation, and because it features outstanding workmanship by some of the greatest artisans of the period. The monument also provides important clues about the transition from the Buddhist monuments created under the auspices of the royalty and nobility of mid-period Joseon to the symbolic stone structures and figures made for the tombs of royalty and nobility.

A study of the difference of Dongeui-Suse-Bowon and past Oriental-Medicine appeared in the argument of Interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In caused by liver's receiving heat (태음인(太陰人) 간수열(肝受熱) 이열병론(裡熱病論)을 통해 살펴본 과거의학(過去醫學)과 동의수세보원(東醫壽世保元)의 음양관(陰陽觀)의 차이(差異))

  • Sasang-Medicine can classify all sympton with more simple classifying system than past Oriental-Medicine, because Sasang Byeon-Zeung(=classifying system of the sympton) separate by four clearly. The merit of this Sasang Byeon-Zeung can be seen more clearly on the part of the pathology of the expiratory-scattering and inspiratory-gathering of the Tae-Eum and Tae-Yang. On this view point, this thesis discussed the following subjects. 1. Investigate the theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering developed in the Dongeui-Suse-Bowon. 2. Investigate the changes of the recognition of the Yang-Dog sympton and Jo-Yeol sympton argued as Interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In caused by liver's receiving heat. 3. Investigate the Yi-Je-Ma's view on the Eum-Yang in the argument of interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In caused by liver's receiving heat. As a result, the following conclusions were led to. 1. Dongeui-Suse-Bowon considers Spleen-Kidney has the couple motion of the raising Yang and falling Eum, and Liver-Lung has the couple motion of the expiratory-scattering and inspiratory-gathering. This theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering is same as in the concept with the gathering. This theory of raising-falling and scattering-gathering is same as in the concept with the theory of raising-falling and floating-sinking of past Oriental-Medicine, but more consistently systematized in the pathology and prescription. 2. Dongeui-Suse-Bowon considers the Yang-Dog sympton and Jo-Yeol sympton as the interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In. As following the book, the fire of desire weeken the expiratory-scattering power of the lung, and deepen the shortage of the expiratory-scattering power comparison to the inspiratory-gathering power. Therfore the sympton can be treated by releasing ourselves from the desire and taking medicine strengthening the expiratory-scattering power. 3. In the early stage of the orintal medicine, they used prescriptions composed of So-Yang medicine and Tae-Eum medicine which can cool heat. Galgeun, Mawhang and Seungma were used in the age of Sanghanron, thereafter Jugoing's Jojung-Tang and Gongsin's Galgeunhaegi-Tang were developed as prescriptions of the interior-overheating-sympton of the Tae-Eum-In, and finally Tea-Uem-In Galgeunhaegi-Tang was settled by Yi-Je-Ma.
