  • Just as various religions of the world have multiple systems based on their own belief system respectively, religious costumes, which are the expression of religion, are varied in forms according to different religions. Nonetheless, this research attempts to examine the universal features of the variety of religious costumes. Since the range of this research is broad and the limit of study is clear, this research confines the study objects into world's four high religions. The purposes of this research are as followings; first, the investigation of the world's high religions, second, the study of the figurative attributes of religious costume to study and discuss the universality of figurative beauty and aesthetic value. Figurative attributes are distinct in religious costume. First, the non structural feature of composition, and the manner in which the costume is worn. Second, the rich silhouette covering the body. Third, the restraint and inhibition of decoration, and fourth, the preference of achromatic color and monotones. 'The beauty of concealing', derived from the religious absolute and chastity, 'The beauty of chastity' influenced by the restraint of decoration and design, and 'The beauty of nature' as the drapery and non structural feature are the universal aesthetic values. Human beings tend to contact the divine beings by pursuing the essential thing and concealing the body through religion. The forms of concealment and chastity, mentioned above are reflected in the usual costumes, affected by religion as well as religious costume.

  • This study examined spatial disposition of wildlife highway mortality using road-kill GIS database and Naver panoramic 360 degree views to find out which habitat and road variables most influenced road-kill numbers for each mammal species and how the landscape and road elements are connected on highway. Road-kills on Yeongdong(YD) and Jungbu highway(JB) generally tended to be higher in natural barren, grassland and cropland due to its value of preferred habitats of nocturnal and multihabitat species like water deer(Hydropotes inermis argyropus), raccoon(Nyctereutes procyonoides) and hare(Lepus coreanus). Land cover in YD showed no difference between species (p=0.165) while JB did by species (p=0.001). This may be explained by disparate landscape between mountain and urban or the fact that YD in long term operation might have enabled consistent crossing pattern compared to JB experiencing continuous extension works which may in turn have deviated the road crossing. Although road-kill prevention effect of local topography alone was appreciable, compared to less significant or ineffective fence and guardrail, gentle slope declining in a direction to the road turned out to offset the preventive effect of juxtaposed fence. Furthermore, green patches on road near intersection were deemed a visual stepping stone facilitating wildlife attempted crossing and local roads juxtaposed with a highway were especially left defenceless to road-kill without road barriers.

  • The "Noerog", a traditional green mineral pigment occurs as veins or cavity-filings in the basaltic pyroclastic rocks of Quaternary Epoch in Mt. Noeseong in Janggi-myeon, Pohang. The "Noerog stone" mainly consists of celadonite with minor chlorite/smectite, mordenite and opal. Celadonite grains are several hundreds to several tens of ${\mu}m$ in size. The particle sizes under several tens of fm are likely to coagulate to aggregates. The coloring rate increases rapidly with decreasing particle size under $71{\mu}m$. The hiding power is maximum in the particle sizes of $0.2\sim0.3{\mu}m$. The resistance properties of the Noerog to both the light and the bacteria are absolutely superior to ordinary chemical pigments. The transparency of the Noerog is maximum in the nano-powders under 200 nm. Examination of the color of the Noerog pigment which has been prepared by traditional technique for "dancheong" shows that the best coloring effect is found in the particle sizes under $32{\mu}m$ and that the painting was not successful for the Noerog of particle size over $32{\mu}m$.

  • To improve security in the data communication field, many studies on the application of chaotic signals to encryption have been conducted in recent years. In this study, a new security protocol where the initial value sensitivity and noise similarity of chaotic signals have been applied to an RFID communication channel was designed. In the case of chaotic systems, if the initial values become identical, the same signals are generated at the same time after that point even though the two systems have been calculated independently. Therefore, an unpredictable security channel can be produced based on such characteristics. However, a security channel can be produced only when an initial value is shared in advance, and thus there is a potential problem of infringement during the transmission of the initial value. To resolve this problem, a method in which a certain proportion of new chaotic signals are applied to two chaotic systems for communication and are then synchronized after some time was proposed. This new method can conceal the initial value, and thus can resolve the problem of the existing communication method using chaotic signals. The designed method was verified with the encryption and decryption of images. It is expected that a more secure RFID system could be established by applying the communication protocol proposed in this study to insecure RFID communication channels.

  • A survey of canine heartworm (nirofilaria inmitis) infections among German shepherds in five areas of South Korea was performed from October 1994 to August 1995 using a microfilarial test (modified Knott's test) and an antigen test (DiroCHEKⓑ Synbiotics, USA). The infection rate of 127 German shepherds (71 males and 56 females) was 10.2% (13/127) by the microfilarial test, but was 28.3% (36/127) by the antigen test, revealing that 24 of the 36 antigen-positive dogs were microfilaria-negative in the peripheral blood . All dogs that were microfilaria-positive were also antigen-positive. Three of the microfilaria-negative and antigen-positive dogs contained 4-15 adult heartworms in the heart and pulmonary arteries upon necropsy. The infection rate among German shepherds was the highest in Hoengsong-gun (Kangwon-do, 84.4%) , while those of Yechon-gun (Kyongsangbuk-do) and Chungwon-gun (Chungchongbuk-do) areas were 20.0% and 14.3%, respectively. None of the dogs in the Kimhae-shi (Kyongsangnam-do) and Kwangiu areas was heartworm positive. The infection rates of heartworm in dogs at the age of 1-3, 4-6. and 7-11 years were 6.3%, 21.4%, and 56.4%, respectively. Based on the fact that the antigen test is more accurate than the microfilarial test, this study strongly indicates that the prevalence rate of canine heartworm in Korea may be higher than previously reported (3.1-23.0%) which utilized microfilarial tests.

  • Human resources are one of the most essential elements of an organization. In particular, the more closed a group is, the higher the value each member has. Previous studies have focused on personal attributes of individual, such as medical history, and have depended upon self-diagnosis to manage structures. However, this method has weak points, such as the timeconsuming process required, the potential for concealment, and non-disclosure of participants' mental states, as this method depends on self-diagnosis through extensive questionnaires or interviews, which is solved in an interactive way. It also suffers from another problem in that relations among people are difficult to express. In this paper, we propose a multi-faced diagnosis model based on social network analysis which overcomes former weaknesses. Our approach has the following steps : First, we reveal the states of those in a social network through 9 questions. Next, we diagnose the social network to find out specific individuals such as victims or leaders using the proposed algorithm. Experimental results demonstrated our model achieved 0.62 precision rate and identified specific people who are not revealed by the existing methods.

  • This paper proposes a new data hiding scheme for binary image authentication with minimizing the distortion of host image. Based on the Hamming-Code-Based data embedding algorithm, the proposed scheme makes it possible to embed authentication information into host image with only flipping small number of pixels. To minimize visual distortion, the proposed scheme only modifies the values of the flippable pixels that are selected based on Yang et al's flippablity criteria. In addition to this, by randomly shuffling the bit-order of the authentication information to be embedded, only the designated receiver, who has the secret key that was used for data embedding, can extract the embedded data. To show the superiority of the proposed scheme, the two measurement metrics, the miss detection rate and the number of flipped pixels by data embedding, are used for the comparison analysis between the proposed scheme and the previous schemes. As a result of analysis, it has been shown that the proposed scheme flips smaller number of pixels than the previous schemes to embed the authentication information of the same bit-length. Moreover, it has been shown that the proposed scheme causes smaller visual distortion and more resilient against recent steg-analysis attacks than the previous schemes by the experimental results.

  • Transmedia has become a significant theme in the media studies sector and an academic discourse itself since its wide diffusion through Henry Jenkins' seminar book Convergence Culture. The aim of this essay is to examine the authentic intention of the proposer to understand its profound meaning and value in the research discourse. Firstly, Transmedia has originated as a part of the convergence culture research context, which is an identical approach in the 'active audience' research tradition. Thus, a history of the research in terms of Birmingham Cultural Studies tradition and its implication is scrutinized. Secondly, in respect of Pierre Levy's 'collective intelligence' which made significant influence on the making of the Convergence Culture and Transmedia Storytelling, the meaing of the transmedia discourse is studied. Thirdly and finally, the implication of this concept as a critical theory or Critique in the Cultural Studies tradition, which has highlighted the importance of the revelation of the binary oppositions and structures of dominance/resistance, with the interpretation of the role of the collective intelligence idea in the transmedia discourse, is studied.
